Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Romaniacleaning could be operated at least after 2 days; we were confused by the pictures on the site so we expected to have a balcony - maybe more consistency between the pics and the rooms would be good; the hotel is right in front of the central market and next to the main bus stop
staff was helpful, we weren't happy with our room (we expected it to have a balcony) but they offered to move us to one other facility in a better place in town after 2 nights; breakfast was plentiful and the people serving it were very nice; they have their own parking lot

I had read the bad reviews and was worried, but this hotel is really nice. The room was lovely and the location is excellent. It’s also very good value for money.

Kuwait1- first no one speaks English 2- they charged me while check out for breakfast !! Although my reservation was two rooms with breakfast !!! 3- they charge my for extra beds ! 4- the toilet need deep clean , I found a black worm coming down under the shower base ! 5- the breakfast was only boiling egg , some cheese and vegetables.. no coffe .. no juices.. no milk .. no scrambled eggs .. no water !! 6- light in the room dusty 7- no parking near the hotel !!!! 8- no left , the stairs were round and difficult to carry the bags 9- one of the extra beds came dirty with (pee ) smell .. and stains

GermanyThere are some nice things about the hotel. For example, we have enjoyed the breakfast among other things. However, some things have been promised by the hotel on booking.com which have not been delivered to us regarding the two double rooms which we have booked. Examples: 1. Safe: It was claimed that a safe for our valuables is available. However, we didn't have access to a safe. 2. Air conditioning: It was claimed that the rooms are air conditioned. However, in one room the air conditioning didn't work (only the fan was on but not the cooling function). In the other room, the condensed water from the air conditioning dropped down in the wardrobe. Therefore, part of the wardrobe, which was small anyway, couldn't be used for storing our clothing. By the way, each wardrobe (in both rooms) was broken somewhere. But this was only a minor issue for us. 3. Fungi: In the bathroom, there was major black fungi all over the ceiling. This is not good for the health and not acceptable. 4. The hotel claims that an airport shuttle is available. This is not true. We were told at the hotel that there is no shuttle and we need to take a taxi. With the very limited English language skills at the hotel it was difficult to have a taxi organized. Only finally it worked out. 5. WiFi: The hotel claims that WiFi is available. And yes, "some" WiFi was indeed available. But the data rate was that bad - it was not even possible to use it for an online booking.
