Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesFor the price we expected more than just the room however everything from breakfast to 3 o’clock tea and even parking parking was extra and prices are inflated. I declined flowers in the room at a cost of $5 per flower and opted to purchase our own at the florist around the corner at the cost of $15 for a large bouquet.
We loved the old nostalgic feel of the Pera. Everything was clean and well preserved.

United KingdomIt’s a really noisy location mainly due to surrounding hotels playing loud music till 2am (yes Soho House I mean you!) There’s only one working lift in the hotel. Bizarrely for a luxury hotel, the bar doesn’t open till 6pm (and even this was delayed). The indoor sitting area is quite small, so guests go out onto the terrace, where there was an additional bar, which had no staff, so some confusion from the guests as to whether it was table service or bar service as it took staff some time to come out. It’s as though the hotel don’t want to make money and would rather the guests spend their money elsewhere (maybe Soho House). We were also told don’t serve hot drinks (tea/coffee) in this bar.
The suite we stayed in was quite spacious for the age and style of hotel. Breakfast was good and the breakfast manager (sorry I didn’t catch his name) was fabulously efficient, welcoming and friendly.

United KingdomWe found the location a little difficult, it was fine on the way out but we had trouble with the taxis in Istanbul so it made things a little stressful on the way back sometimes. Not the hotels fault at all.
It’s a beautiful hotel and was a lovely place to stay. The room was a good size and comfortable as was the bathroom. It was nice to have a small balcony too.

United KingdomThe view from our room was basically a parking lot and a highway, I was not expecting that from the Pera Palace. A bit old fashioned in some aspects - expecially for the price
The Pera palace is a historic hotel definitely worth a visit. Amazing interiors and very good service. The room was spacious, although not as amazing as we expected for the price.

United KingdomIt’s a little far from the centre, but it’s a relatively short Uber trip. The Afternoon Tea sandwiches were just ok, and could have been more varied. And it’s pricey, but I can see why
The staff were great, the place looks great, the breakfasts were varied and plentiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable and things worked

CyprusBreakfast fell a bit short as at that price I expected more and of better quality. It was Ok but just a little bland compared to similar properties in Turkey. Full of tourists...
it has the old school ambiance even though the entrance area and lobby is very shallow( very near the actual entrance), ts doesnt expand backwards but rather sideways. My Great Garbo room was very nice.

United StatesThe dinner experience. For example, bread wasn't warmed (first world problems, I know). The good news is there's tons of other dinner restaurants footsteps away.
Pera Palace Hotel is located in the perfect location - can't be beat. When visiting you'll be just a few blocks away from tons of attractions. Doorman service is a definite plus for safety, security, and comfort. Staff are fluent in multiple languages. The history and story of the hotel speaks volumes. The front desk clerk Deniz is amazing.

CanadaThat we had to leave.
Pera Palace is not an ordinary luxury hotel. It is a historical location where the new Türkiye republic was born, where the father of modern Türkiye, Mustafa Kamel Ataturk lived in the most critical historical moment. Hotel is beautifully restored, and offers all the comfort a discriminating traveler can ask for. We stayed in a studio, and there are historical rooms, like Agatha Christie, Hemingway, etc. Breakfast is a very delicious, and with a great variety. I created a "heavenly bite", rolled puff pastry, toped with clotted cheese, toped with raw honey. Bar is very stylish. And you can have an afternoon "old time style" tee in the main hall. All and all, a great place to explore Istanbul.

SwitzerlandNothing, really.
Everything was outstanding. First of all, this place is legendary, you can feel the history within its walls. They know the meaning of the word hospitality. I really appreciated the fact that seeing there was queue to take the modern lift from the lobby, the doorman showed us the other way to the old lift, the 2nd in Europe, the one Agatha Christie went on, and which is now usally unused. The room was neat and charming, everything was perfect inside and the only downside would be the view to the decrepituded building on the opposite side of the road. We did not dine at Agatha's Restaurant, but its breakfast buffet was excellent. And the Orient Bar is just like I imagined it.
