Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI had a bad knee . 120 steps from the street below. Floor tiles were loose and bits of grout over floor. Quite noisy when people had to slam doors when leaving apartments.
Good location near tram Station. Great view of the waterway and ship action.

United Arab EmiratesOur stay at Etiz Hotels Bosphorus was disappointing due to several issues that impacted our experience. The broken window in our jacuzzi room was a major drawback, as it lacked a door handle, preventing us from enjoying the expected beautiful view. Additionally, the jacuzzi bathtub had a hole without a filter, which raised concerns about cleanliness. The tub became dirty after each use, with black particles accumulating. Basic amenities like water bottles and toothbrushes were not provided by room service. The lack of dustbins in the room was inconvenient, and despite requesting an additional one, it was not provided. Communication and assistance from the hotel staff were also lacking. When we requested water at 10 am, we were informed that the water delivery had already left, leaving us without access to drinking water. This kind of oversight was unexpected and left us without a basic necessity. Moreover, we experienced a troubling incident when we lost our way back to the hotel after dark. We reached out to the receptionist through WhatsApp, sending them a picture of a nearby restaurant and requesting assistance. However, despite our plea for help, the receptionist did not come to our aid. Instead, they simply shared the location with us on WhatsApp, leaving us to navigate back using Google Maps on our own. This lack of responsiveness and assistance was highly disappointing and left us feeling abandoned as guests. In terms of cleanliness, we found the floor to be consistently dusty throughout our stay. Despite our efforts to bring this to the attention of the room service, they failed to adequately address the issue, leaving us dissatisfied with the overall cleanliness of the room. Moreover, there was a lingering smell of paint due to ongoing renovation work, which further detracted from our comfort and enjoyment during our stay. The bedsheets also fell short of our expectations, as they were not fully clean
Etiz Hotels Bosphorus provided a genuinely kind and friendly service throughout our stay. The view from the hotel was absolutely breathtaking, offering a mesmerizing sight of the surrounding area. The highlight of our experience was the jacuzzi, which proved to be incredibly amazing. The hot water and soothing water flow provided a truly relaxing and comforting sensation after a long day of exploring the uphill streets of Istanbul. Especially during the winter, the jacuzzi felt cozy and warm, and the illuminated lights inside the tub created a delightful ambiance. We would easily rate this aspect of our stay a perfect 10/10.

United KingdomThere were no extra facilities so if that is what you are looking for, it’s not really for you. Though, I knew this prior to my stay so it wasn’t a problem. There is also no food, such as breakfast so all meals were eaten outside of the hotel.
I loved the view from my room, overlooking the sea. It was very spacious with two seating areas and a large bed. Water bottles were provided in the mini fridge daily free of charge. The host was also very friendly and welcoming. Also, when I ordered food it came up to my room whereas usually in hotels you have to go down to the reception to collect your food. Upon check-out, I asked the receptionist to call me a taxi of which he kindly did, it arrived in about 10 minutes. It’s usually quite hard to get hold of a taxi in Istanbul so that was a bonus.

NetherlandsThe property really needs a refurbishment as things were falling apart and dated. There was a bad smell in the bathroom and we had to keep the ventilation on permanently.
Staff were friendly and helpful, with a 24-hour reception desk. Location is very good for visiting many areas around Taksim, Tarlabasi, Kadikoy and even Sultanahmet if you're willing to walk a bit. Great views of the Bosporus and the city from the roof.

United KingdomWhen staying in the underground rooms, there is no network so it's very hard to receive or make offline calls and messages the way it usually is in the elevators. However, the WiFi works well which only allows online communication in your underground room.
The location is nice. The area is nice and calm without any noise from outside. From the hotel, you can literally have access to the metro/bus/tramway to different cities. The hotel is even close to Galata Port where you can find good restaurants and stores as well as the yachts that park there. I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Istanbul.
