Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe booked an annex room which is actually situated outside of the hotel complex itself. There is no buggy facility and it takes approx 10-15 minutes to walk from there to the main area which is where breakfast, lunch, dinner and the reception is. This is difficult with young children and when the weather is 35 degrees plus. We didn’t get the rooms we had originally booked as they said there was a technical issue with the AC but really our rooms were given away to others. The manager needs reviewing as his service is terrible, atrocious and was unhelpful. Whilst we were waiting for our room problem to be solved, he went to have his lunch and leave us and our small children in the lobby and the heat, roomless. Upon checking out, we were accused of stealing towels and made to wait until they found them which were still in the rooms and not with us! We didn’t even receive an apology.
The hotel itself is big and beautiful, the facilities are great and the food is delicious! The Guest relations - Esra was so lovely and helpful with everything.

United KingdomI have stayed at the Orka many times before, pre AI days and it used to be an excellent hotel in a good location but it no longer is. All the restaurants that were previously on the hotel’s doorstep have gone, presumably because it is now AI and people don’t tend to leave the hotel to eat and drink. They have been replaced with estate agents so the location is no longer good. The staff speak very little English so it is difficult to communicate. We had no key for our safe and despite asking, they could not find one to fit it. We were a group of friends and one of us was put in the annex which is a fair walk away but despite asking daily they would not move him, even though the hotel wasn’t full. My biggest gripe was the kids club which started at 9pm, was very loud and annoying. Surely this should start at 7 and the kids in bed by 9, leaving the evening free for the adults? it was because of this we didn’t spend much time in the hotel. The food is OK, with a good choice. All in all it is a good value hotel but not like it was by any means. I would hesitate to stay again
Value for money. Comfortable beds. Rooms cleaned daily.

United KingdomBetter training for the staff as the service was fundamental and they have little understanding of English, surprising as the majority of the guests were from England. My biggest complaint is I left a removable laptop hard drive in the room on my departure, I tried to contact reception, but the phone was left unanswered, On my return to England I engaged a Turkish-speaking member of staff to contact the hotel and request the return of the missing item, We were eventually contacted by a member of the reception team, Erdan Mercan claiming the missing equipment had been found and was in reception he requires £70.00 to post the item back to England, We asked for photo evidence and we would transfer the funds. No pictures were fourth coming and the Gentleman in question has blocked all incoming calls, I personally Contacted Booking.com regarding this matter again no help, and was told this was between me and the Hotel. Still no hard drive and no follow-up from the Booking.com call center. Not impressed by the response from either Booking.com management or the Hotel staff reception
The staff tried their best despite the lack of a common language
