Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaI was not informed of a wedding reception held during my stay on one weekend. Music was loud and cause inconvenience to my family till midnight. No apology extended by owner of hotel or staff. I booked the king room for 3nights paying euro264.
Receptionist was helpful. Owner of the hotel always there to check and meet the request.

TurkeySince we visited the city in December and it was the coldest days, we were frozen cold. When we arrived at the hotel rooms were not warmed up even the staff knew we were checking in. Rooms are heated with AC and unfortunately takes 2 hours to bring to a pleasant temperature. We were again freezing at dinner time as the courtyard is too big and not heated. They have mushroom heaters but for breakfast 2 of them were already out of gas. Bottom line hotel was not warmed up before we arrive and we got frozen after 2 days stay. Hot water at the shower is enough only for one person, try not to go in immediately after one person is finished as you will have to take ice cold shower if you don't wait for a while for the water to warm up again.
Hotel is located very close by to the main road and accessible to most of the attractions in city center by walk. Break fast was very delicious and included local tastes as well. Dinner wasn't anything special, chef prepared some common starters and a main course for us. It is better to go out if you want to taste local food. It is a well thought and designed old house which is restorated to a boutique hotel. Staff was attentive and very friendly, they helped to every inquiry we had.

RomaniaThe room we had was not the best choice for me, as I have problems sleeping with light and noises. The entrance was from the reception and the door had a big glass part on top, letting the light from the reception in the room until very late at night. The big chandelier from the room could not be completely switched off (I don’t know if it was a problem with the bulbs or it was designed this way). And last but not least, we could hear the wood floors creaking very loud from the room above. Also , the room had no natural light at day time. It had two big windows, but they were facing the restaurant in the courtyard, and had to keep them covered with the heavy dark draperies not to be seen by other guests. There was another window blocked with furniture. Maybe the hotel owners can think of a solution for these problems, considering all the effort they put in restoring and decorating the hotel.
Good location, close to the city center, but on a quiet street. Very good breakfast. Nice staff, especially the evening receptionist (unfortunately I don’t remember his name), who is always helpful and with a smile on his face.

The location is perfect. An authentic, old building, but in very good conditions. Very clean, safe and quiet. The price is reasonable compared to same level hotels. The owner and the staff are perfect hosts. They helped us with their valuable recommendations on shopping in the city. Also for the night life. We enjoyed our stay. When we go to Antakya, we definitely stay there again. When you take the HAVAS bus from the airport, the nearest stop is the city center. There is a 10 min. walk to the hotel through the narrow but lovely streets of the old city...
