Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing - beds perhaps a little hard.
This was a charming hotel in a convenient location close to the main tourist attractions in Istanbul. The rooms were slightly old fashioned in appearance but this added to the attraction rather than being a problem. Nice view out over the Sea of Marmara was a bonus as were reasonably large rooms for istanbul hotels. But the outstanding feature for me was the helpfulness of the staff who went out of their way to provide extra support their customers - including for example personally taking me up to a recommended restaurant rather than just giving me the address. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

United KingdomThis hotel is a little tired, although it has a lovely historical feel to it, so in someways it can be forgiven for having some little rough edges. the breakfast buffet was fairly extensive, but not all to our personal preference.
This hotel is in a great location and within easy walking distance to local attractions. The staff are very helpful and friendly and always attentive to your needs. The rooms are large and spacious with plenty of the usual amenities. Our bed was very comfortable and cosy. Shower was hot and clean.

United KingdomOdd smell in bathroom which must be due to lack of window there. Shampoo and shower gel provided, need take your own body lotion. Have had better Turkish breakfasts in other hotels in turkey.
Traditional property, location close to grand bazaar. 10 mins walk to blue mosque. Though our room was close to road, nights were quiet once windows closed. Small super markets around if you need water. Tea, coffee making facilities in room. We booked a double room, size 20m. There was a double bed and a single bed. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff.

The location was fantastic, it was very convenient getting to all the major sites in a very safe part of town. We felt really comfortable walking everywhere as well. It was extremely quiet and comfortable, I got the best sleep there put of all the places I’ve traveled over the last 2 months. What made this an exceptional experience was the staff. They were so helpful, welcoming, and thoughtful and made us feel at home during our stay! A huge thanks especially to Osman who went above and beyond to ensure we had a pleasant and comfortable stay, and Baran for escorting us around town and helping us figure out the tram system! Everyone at the hotel is incredible and made our time in Istanbul a delight.

AustraliaThe only thing is breakfast for me as I had my teeth done, I was limited to what I could eat. That was the only downside for me!
The location is amazing and within walking distance to everything - Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, and the Cistern, as well as many great places to shop and eat. The view from the ocean view room was amazing. It’s quiet at night despite being in a busy area and near mosques. The rooms have double glazed windows. As a solo female traveller, I felt very safe in the hotel and walking the streets around there - even at night when going out for dinner. The wifi also allowed me to work and take zoom meetings which was important. The breakfast was good. The staff were exceptional. I even booked my brother to stay here with his wife when they travel to Istanbul. Thank you Osman and the staff at Enderun Hotel!

AustraliaBooking.com was at fault with the advertising of the hotel. My booking confirmation shows that we had access to the executive lounge. This was why we booked at the hotel. The hotel does not have an executive lounge!!
The staff were very good especially the manager who refunded money that we had paid when we were mistakenly booked two tours which were the same. All the staff were very obliging. We had two rooms which was not what I had thought I booked. The main room had a settee and table and chairs and was roomy. The beds were comfotable and the water was hot. The other room was smaller and we didn't use it. We wre able to walk to many attractions, (Grand Bazaar, Topkapi, St Sofia), and there are lots of eating places nearby.
