Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe rooms were nice and large however the decor was a little tired with plugs hanging out the sockets. The shower leaked a bit but this didn’t hinder our stay as the city is wonderful.
The location was excellent as you are in the heart of a bustling area with lots of restaurants and shops. The roof top area for breakfast was great with stunning views.

United StatesThe A/C In the room wasn’t great (admittedly I like it very cold). Not having air conditioning in the hallways probably contributes to the problem. The room itself (Superior Room with Balcony) is listed as 30 meters, but there’s no chance that it’s that size. Best you pay up a tiny bit for a Corner Room or Superior Room (with no balcony), listed at 35 square meters, which it likely is.
Breakfast was good, but an indoor option with AC might have been a nice option with the temps in the mid 30s. The location is ideal. The front desk staff is very good within the limitations of what they can actually affect.

GermanyIt seems the management has given up on this hotel. Don't expect a well functioning facility. The receptionist didn't know which rooms were available and gave me wrong information. The room I stayed in was loud at night, and when I asked if they had earplugs I got the response "Didn't you read the comments? You must have known it's loud, it's in a busy part of the city." I hadn't read the comments but true, the area is loud. However your job is hospitality - if there's a problem you know of, fix it if you can to make your guests more comfortable. I would have absolutely bought earplugs from the reception if they had any. Easy solution. The room had nice bones (comfortable, bright, spacious), but there were stains on the furniture and bathtub, and broken hangers in the closets. There were wall fixtures with open cables hanging out. One night the lights were flickering quite a bit. Also very strange: the rooms don't have toilet brushes.. there's space for them (like a proper wall attachment), but no brushes. When I asked, they said "Well, there's daily cleaning anyway". With new management, this hotel has the potential to be lovely. Now it was just OK.
Comfortable bed and a lovely view on the terrace. The building is beautiful and the common areas are well kept. The bellboy was exceptionally nice and made me feel welcome.

United KingdomOccasional traffic noise in street but only the odd noisy people rather than consistent. Didn’t wake me up.
Breakfast was lovely and dinning room views superb. Loved breakfast - such a treat at the start of each day. Hotel was beautiful throughout. Room was large and stylish. Great area - very chic but access to cheaper food as well as more expensive places. About ten mins for metro so not on doorstep but I loved the location and hotel and would chose it again.

SwitzerlandThis boutique hotel is in the centre area located and many places are very good accessible, including metro and tram stations. Hotel staff is very customer friendly, especially the special service given by Rhami and Yigit are remarkable. Also the restaurant Terrasse 41 is recommended. Breakfast and Dinner are very good including service staff! Especially the view from the Terrasse is fascinating! I highly recommend this hotel and restaurant!

Maltawell, there was a sewage whiff now and again in the room..so we stayed with the window open. Also the pillows were hard..
The room was nicely furnished, and the location is a good one. we didnt have breakfast at the hotel, but 3 times we had dinner, as the view from the restaurant at the top is fantastic. The food was good but rather on the skimpy side, and no vegetables seem to have ever been served? The waiters were very cordial and nice. Indeed the staff were all very helpful and nice!

United KingdomVery little. There’s no water trap on the shower drain and you can smell sewage, but it was just a question of keeping the bathroom door closed and the bathroom window open. Still liked the room!
Location is excellent. Staff were really helpful and friendly, such as Burhan who also made some good visit suggestions. I had a 5 th floor room with balcony and loved it. Also the roof top terrace and restaurant is excellent.

GermanyIt certainly needs some reparations. There was a bad smell coming from bathroom. It gets pretty loud at nights because of cars passing by with loud music. I was there two years ago and staff was honest and very helpful however this time before leaving I felt like one employee tried to get some extra money when we asked to call a taxi for us. I advice you to call Uber or something relevant when you go to the airport as it will be cheaper.
Beautiful rooms and good location. I recommend to book a room with a balcony with city view. Also, the restaurant Terrace41 was finally opened (it was closed two years ago) and you can have a breakfast with wonderful view. The staff is very friendly

GermanyIt is quite loud outside but for me personally that wasn't a big issue and the bed sheets could be cleaner
The location couldn't have been better, surrounded by numerous cafes and shops, with Galata Tower just a 15-20 minute walk away. The staff, particularly Rahmi, was very helpful, addressing our queries and ensuring our satisfaction throughout our stay.

United StatesOur room was a bit smaller than we expected based on the photos. A little noisy at night, but not the hotel’s fault, of course. Just a heads-up for light sleepers.
Elegant, lovely hotel in a terrific neighborhood. Excellent albeit limited breakfast with very attentive staff. Incredibly comfortable bed was a standout.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaTwo beds were joined together instead of one bed. the linens are clean but noticeably and maximally used. Chairs visibly dirty. The refrigerator did not work. if they worked a little on those details, the rating would be perfect. I'm not one to complain too much about rooms that I just sleep in, but I'm convinced that with a little money the owner would achieve significantly better ratings.
Location is perfect.

AustraliaUnfortunately the room I specifically booked and paid for was unavailable due to maintenance issues. The room we were given instead had a spa which was nice, but unfortunately the room was quite small and dark with only one small window. We were eventually able to change to a larger room which was much better
I've stayed here a few times before and I love this hotel and the staff. The location is excellent, just a short walk to Istiklal Street. Most rooms are spacious and quiet. Special shout out to Burhan, Rahmi and Deniz on reception who were all lovely and extremely helpful - thanks so much guys

United StatesThe underfloor heater in the bathroom would not turn off and the A/C would not stay on throughout the night so the room would get too warm.
The room size was large and the bed and bedding was cozy. The check-in/out process was efficient. The rooftop café has good food and a fantastic view of downtown.
