Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe bathroom could have been cleaner, the hair dryer doesn't work and the bedside lights are broken. There are no toiletries in the bathroom and several power sockets are broken. No tea or cups are provided in the room, although there are glasses.
We loved the area in Sultanahmet, close to the big attractions of Istanbul. The hotel is small and friendly, but not in any way luxurious! The breakfast included in the price is very nice. Our room (no 12) on the top floor, of what had been once a roof terrace, had a fabulous view out to the sea of Marmara and to the Blue Mosque, which is stunningly lit at night. (Beware, however, that the top rooms have very low ceilings and many opportunities to bump your head.)

CroatiaThe room had a bit mouldy scent. And the bathroom was really small. The shower "spot" is actually a small hole.
The location of the hotel is just great. It is a safe area and you are 500 meters away from Sultanahmet mosque and Hagia Sofia. Just wonderful.

United KingdomA light by the bed would have been good.
The staff! They were great! Shout out for Ibrahim on reception who was very helpful, knowledgeable and kindly loaned me his metro card (I left it at reception when I checked out). Location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to Haghia Sophia the Blue Mosque, Gülhane Park and Eminönü ferry station. My room (12) was at the top of the stairs and had amazing seaviews. No lift, but worth the climb - could be difficult with lots of, or heavy baggage and if you're tall, you might hit your head going in and out of the doorway. A fridge and kettle in the room were a bonus. Breakfast was simple and sufficient. Lots of restaurants near by - recommend the Doy Doy restaurant a short walk away for good food and fair prices. I would definitely stay here again.

GermanyThe property is not easily accessible by public transport. The receptionist either did not have a map of the city or did not want to give us one, instead some guy offered us to "sit down for a while" so that he "explained us everything", which we did not need. There were no hangers for overcoats, so we had to put them on one of the armchairs in the living room. There was no towel for dishes in the kitchen. The boiler worked in such a way that it was quite difficult to get water in the bathroom and kitchen which was neither boiling hot nor cold. In one of the bathrooms one part of the shower was broken so that itwas not posssible to adjust the height of the shower-head; in the other, the sewage system got clogged on the fourth day.
This is a small property very close to the Sultanahmet Mosque and other main sights. We got a large apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and a fully equiped kitchen, located in a building two minutes walking distance from the reception. There was a microvawe, a fridge, a dishwasher, and in one of the bathrooms there were a washing mashine and a dryer. In the rooms there was enough space and light, as well as air conditioning. The wi-fi connection was quite fine. The staff were so nice that they even brought us my wife's lost suitcase when it was brought to them from the airport.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaWe booked an 'Economy Double Room' as from the pictures it looked like would be enough for us (couple). However, the room is way too small - so small there was no space for us to put our baggage and make few steps, and the bed was also small, so I think this room is enough for a single person staying 2-3 days. The covers were too small for a queen-sized bed and a couple (140x200). We also expected a better, more turkish breakfast.
The staff and the manager were kind enough to let us use a bigger room (we paid a small amount additionally). The rooms were clean, but the hotel is, in fact, old and 'antique'. The location is excellent.

EstoniaIt is an old tiny house and what comes with it. Not for aesthetic-sensitive or those spending much time in hotel.
The location was near areas of interest and in a quiet street. Bed was good and air, slept extremely well. Very helpful stuff. Indeed good for sole traveler to have a good sleep.

NetherlandsIt's not really the direct fault of the hotel, but the shuttle we hired from them tried to get extra money from us with a faster and more expensive route, to which we said no.
Booked the top floor with a wonderful view of the blue most and the sea. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included and it is in a cute little terrace outside.

RomaniaThe personal is very kind and helpful. The hotel is very Close to Grand Bazar. We had a parking lot in front of the hotel. We had breakfast at the hotel served by a nice woman and the breakfast was tasty and fresh. We had a clean room and was cleaned every morning. The place is safe and quiet. If you want any informations, you will receive them fast. The owner makes tours with the boat and other entertainments.

AustraliaThe rooms are small. The toilet seat was wonky. They didn’t supply enough toilet paper . To flush the toilet it only had enough power to flush once then you needed to wait for 10 minutes to flush again. This was incredibly frustrating. There wasn’t a cup. You are not supposed to drink the water in Turkey. Not because it is bad but because it is tastes terrible but no water bottle was supplied, which would have been nice. The stairs are terrible if you need to drag a large suitcase up. I heard the staff talking on the phone at the reception because the noise carries
The location was amazing. The staff lovely. The breakfast lovely. Customer service fabulous
