Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSometimes, we had sewage smell coming from our bathroom. More cutlery and cookware should be available throughout the restaurant, they don't give spoons on the tabel, have to ask. Food needs better labelling. The pools had very salty water. Indoor pool area needs renovation. We were told that we should use our beach towels for 3 days and then could return for fresh ones, that's weird for a 5 star hotel. Spa doesn't give a luxury feel that's deserving of a 5 star hotel, looks like a doctors surgery. We saw some cockroaches on the ground floor hallways. There are many small things that don't match the 5 star benchmark.
Checked in late at 2am. Caring and polite night shift reception staffs. Lovely decor in lobby and welcome drinks. Very nice bars. Excellent selection of meals, fresh cooking sections. Clean, quiet and spacious rooms. Excellent wifi, even on the beach! Friendly staff all across the hotel. Snack bars and foods are available all day, everywhere near the pools and beach area. Pool side entertainments for everyone and a great animation team. The hairdresser was very good too. Iron provided on request. Bring your own 3 pin electric adaptors. Good entertainment that ends around 11pm. It is better to book a taxi through booking.com to airports as the hotel prices are much more. Water sport excursions booked on the beach further to the right of our beach through an agent called Tina. They are with the parachutes behind Occidental Marhaba Hotel. Tina is an amazing person, lovely, and gives good prices for her excursions. She also had a lovely team working with her. Paragliding for 2 people was around £23! Very good housekeeping by Jihene, she was lovely. The massages are good, but the service overall could be much better. A lovely beach.

United KingdomNothing that we didn’t like but we preferred the days to the evening as the entertainment was more family oriented than suited our group. We did enjoy the karaoke though!
Our stay at Jaz Tour Khalef was absolutely fantastic. The hotel was exceptionally clean throughout even including the beach facilities. The rooms were spacious and attentively serviced. Lovely attention to detail like flowers in a vase, folded night clothes and a free large bottle of water every day. The pool area is an absolute dream. Exactly as pictured, sunbeds always available and plenty of shade if you need it. Beach front was peaceful and well attended with a well placed bar. Perfect sand! The all inclusive buffet was hugely varied but lovely to see so many traditional Tunisian dishes as well as other options. Several stations with freshly cooked dishes including crepes and omelettes. Allergens well labelled. Everything seasoned to perfection. I didn’t once need salt. Coffee was off the charts. However what really made this hotel was the staff. There was not one single member of staff who wasn’t friendly, helpful and smiley (even during Ramadan when they were fasting all day!), from the bar stuff to the cleaners to the maintenance people. Everyone. We were particularly impressed to see that a drinks service was offered throughout. We’d like a special mention to the following; Fayzal - night time manager. We arrived at 3am and he was so welcoming, even offering us food if we would like it. Sahbi and Youssef in the restaurant - nothing was too much trouble and they were so attentive to our group. All the pool staff truly excellent but the stand out member of staff was Karim. His level of service is exceptional; warm, friendly, funny, kind hearted. We felt we made a friend by the end of the week. A joyful, joyful holiday. Relaxing and rejuvenating and perfect for our group. Shkran tous! On va rentrer!

United StatesThe food is prepared for all taste buds, which was a little bland for me. But there is a spice station, to spruce it up. My mattress was uncomfortably hard. B414 had mold on the wall, near the bathroom. It was reported to the front desk. I hope the fix it.
The staff are amazing!! The location of the hotel was perfect. Two inspection points for vehicles to enter the property, for added security. I felt safe and overall enjoyed my stay.

United Kingdom- limited food options at pool snack bar & indoor smoke bar (we had the all inclusive package so this was disappointing) - gym opening times were very limite - entertainment options were limited (likely due to time of our visit which is the shoulder season)
Great location - property extends right to the beach. Note that this is not a private beach so there will be locals trying to sell things. The property had several bars which served food throughout the day. The indoor swimming pool was ideal when the wind picked up in the afternoon. Overall, the staff were brilliant and made us feel so comfortable.

United KingdomWhile it claims to be 5 stars, it isn't necessarily a proper 5 stars. The food in the buffet was hmm ok at best. The AC system was beyond ancient though I had no complaints about the temperature. Do not trust the hotel staff for taxis. They sent me to a taxi which charged 4x the normal rate. Just beyond the gates you'll see taxis waiting.
The hotel didn't disappoint, the lobby was particularly nice and drinks were quite honest and limitless. The hotel had a ton of extra classes and activities for guests and the view from the room was really nice. It was too cold to swim but the pools looked great.

UgandaThe bathroom's glass door should be properly sealed to prevent water from splashing on the floor.
The pool had a variety of sections and engaging water games, which my children enjoyed due to the diverse activities available. Our room was both comfortable and clean. However, the internet access needs to be improved, as the connection strength was inadequate.

PolandRather worn out hotel (the lobby seems fresh, but the rest of the hotel doesn't match it). Very few elevators, so it's quite a journey every time you need to go anywhere (we had two little babies, so staircase was not an option).

I was recommended this hotel by a tour guide who did day tours from Sousse. I met him in Hammamet on an organised tour from Trip Advisor. I took his advice, checked reviews and they looked positive. I arrived on a Friday afternoon and was given a room with twin beds. I asked to change before even unpacking. I was then given a single room with a double bed which I was pleased about initially. I say this because when you looked out of the balcony and stared left, you saw all the hotel rubbish and disused furniture. So I went back to the reception and asked to be moved yet again. I was politely informed that the hotel was extremely busy and could I wait till Monday? This I did, then got rewarded with a room overlooking the restaurant and pool. You can still hear a mosque at 05:30 each day though! Room was spacious, clean, had a fridge, safe, good storage, comfortable bed and great bathroom. Unfortunately the t.v was small, old and not a smart one. So no Netflix, You Tube or Prime. You did get BBC and three other English language ones. A robe was there, clean towels each day and barcodes for room service. Fatiha the maid was very professional and happy in her job. Reception staff Fredj and the team were great. Miriam, had the best smile in the entire hotel. Bar servers Mariam and Ali were also greeting you each day with a smile. On weekends the hotel is hectic. Locals, Algerians and holidaymakers are all arriving and leaving constantly. The lobby area is very busy and can be frantic. Kids run wild, in the bar areas, restaurant, reception and lounge area. At first I found it overwhelming, wanted to leave and find an Air bnb nearby. However having paid for the entire fortnight upon arrival, I was doomed. The grounds are magnificent and kept clean. The pool area is great, an adult and children’s one. I never saw anyone in either for the entire two week stay! The beach is a 90 second walk away and cleaned each day. It was deserted the whole time.

South AfricaStaff at reception were quite rude and not welcoming at all. Treated us like just another customer walking of the street. Was not impressed at all at their no care attitude. It's like they were doing us a favour by being there. First impression when walking in and it was shocking. Did not appreciate being treated like that at all.
Resort was excellent, good facilities, indoor pool. Entertainment was good. The buffet was excellent, massive selection for all meals and changed up daily. Different specialty dishes. Mahdi at the buffet was a good host, always checking up on us. Heated Indoor pool was good.

United KingdomIt was unfortunate for me that the outdoor pool was not heated, and it was heart-stoppingly cold! That said, there were plenty of sun loungers and attentive staff to serve drinks, and plenty of warm sun to top up my vitamin D levels in. so aside from not doing the swimming exercise I had anticipated, everything else was great.
Whatever some aggrieved visitors have said I found the hotel to be a great place to stay. The staff are all helpful, charming and work hard to look after you. There are a lot of staff, everywhere was clean and kept tidy. Service was attentive, efficient and tolerant. There was a mix of guest nationalities which made for an interesting range of behaviours and attitudes. Some of the guests were long on demands and short on pleasantry. Throughout my stay the food offer was wide ranging, plentiful and delicious, I ate a lot of fish, filleted and whole, and incredible salads, fruit and vegetables. There was an array to select from beyond my personal choice. The bar service was swift, and the red wine was perfectly passable. It was the quiet season in terms of volumes of people after the main festive period. The hotel hosted an incredible NYE party for us all. I personally really enjoyed the Tunisian offer, and experiencing a different culture. Clearly not everyone felt the same. This reflects on them rather than the hotel. I was particularly impressed that at the start of the NY evening the hotel management took time to thank all the staff for their hard work and efforts during the year. I'm not sure I'd want to be there in high season, but for winter sun it was marvellous and I would very happily return.
