Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandWould have been a perfect but the bed in my cottage is bizzare. My bed's headboard is the same glass window in a (not so busy but still a) pedestrian zone. People walk 3 feet from my bed.
Amazing location. Peaceful and secluded but also close to a lively beach. The immediate seaside is a snorkelling site.

ThailandThe only downside is the accommodation don't have their own private beachfront, therefore has no lounge deck chair provided. You have to pay an extra if you'd want ones. It's about 200 Baht/chair/day which I think a little bit too much especially when stay many days and many people in your family. The room was clean and comfortable bed although the bathroom has some sort of smell from poor sewage systems. We have to shut the bathroom door at all time to stop the smell comes out.
The room was lovely with a great view and room srevice everyday. The staff are helpful and friendly.

United KingdomLack of hangers and balcony light would only go on if main room light was on - I enjoy reading at night but my husband goes to bed earlier so had to read by torch. Small inconvenience and I am sure its easily fixed.
The staff were very friendly, it was clean and well priced. The pool was lovely. It is situated overlooking a lovely beach with restaurants all along and a nice vibe. It felt safe, relaxed and clean

ThailandThere was ocean garbage (bottles half full of urine presumably from nearby fishing boats) & plastic that swept up to the rocks just in front of our villa. If someone can do a sweep each day to pick up the sea trash that would do wonders to the place. Also, we were in the last villa (F4) closest to the pool, and people kept peering around the fence trying to walk across our deck/balcony! There should be a sign that says “no trespassing onto the balcony”. The coffee at breakfast is a Nescafé machine that was almost undrinkable. We ordered lattes from the cafe instead which was not free, but a lot nicer. The pipes in the bathroom also gave off a sewage like smell, so that needs fixing. Our friends stayed next door and this was the case for them as well.
Sea view; the family room had a mezzanine level which made it seem more spacious. However, the ladder to the mezzanine is quite treacherous so would not recommend for small kids. The staff were friendly.

TaiwanBecause it is an island, the water for bathing is difficult to enjoy. The amount of water can fluctuate easily, but if you take a bath in the afternoon when the weather is hot, you can avoid the problem of no hot water sometimes. But I only encountered this problem one night during my four-day stay. I just adjusted the bathing time afterwards.
Very value for money scenery and facilities. You can have the scenery of the reef and the beach at the same time. It is a very relaxing place where you can stay for a week.

PolandIt took forever to get the other room ready and the staff forgot to inform us that it was ready. The pool might not be very clean.
The location is perfect for a quiet getaway. It's right on the beach but not too close to the other resorts in the area. The family bungalow with sea view was an excellent choice. Breakfast was decent.

United KingdomMaybe the restaurant could stay open later than 9pm but there are plenty of other options along the beach. Selection at breakfast . Maybe sun lounges for hotel use on the beach
Location excellent, breakfast could have a little better selection of food . Our room was a garden view room with a slight sea view but would recommend a sea view as you will get more privacy. Lovely Beaches both sides , nice swimming pool but smaller than you think. Very nice and friendly Staff.

United KingdomBreakfast was poor, very little choice and nowhere near the standard of the food the restaurant was capable of making. Arriving as a solo traveller there were very little signs to show how to get to the hotel itself. You get dropped off at a taxi rank and you have to walk with your baggage down a long alley and then pull your bags across the rocks and around people's houses before arriving at the destination. I found this intimidating to navigate at night. I dont feel this is mentioned anywhere. Pool was closed for a few days because it turned a funny colour of green.
Wow what a view. My room was right on the rocks looking out at sunset and the beach and ocean. The staff at breakfast and dinner were incredibly kind and even offered an opportunity to go and feed the fish with fresh bread which was a novelty. Food cooked from the restaurant was great and it is literally a heartbeat from the beach.

ThailandWe stayed in the smallest bungalow with garden view, due to everything else being fully booked. Very small room, rock hard bed but a pleasant sea view from the terrasse. Some unpleasant smell in this part of the resort too. Staff were friendly but English spoken close to zero. Breakfast was ok but mainly Asian options. The family bungalows looked really great though, with amazing sea views, and they looked newly renovated so probably worth to go for one of those if availaible.
Amazing location, just between two really bice beaches, really nicely maintained garden, cozy layout of bungalows, and very pleasant pool area.

ThailandThe pool was closed, and apparently has been for some time. The water was algae green due to a broken pump. Since having a pool is a selling point of resorts in the area, it was disappointing to check in and find it out of order. Also, note that the restaurant and bar close at 9 PM. If you go off on a snorkeling tour or other activity, you need to rush back to clean up and squeeze dinner in before the kitchen closes.
This is by far the nicest resort in Ao Vongduen. The resort is pristine and sits on its own peninsula. The rooms all offer outside sitting areas with ocean view. The staff was polite and very helpful. You can walk along the beach to all of the other restaurants, bars, and resorts in this cove. Breakfast was good, with eggs cooked to order, and a nice selection of Asian or western food. Very nice coffee machine that makes, Americans, latte, cappuccino, or mocha. Our dinner was fantastic, and the beachside setting is beautiful.
