Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Gus and his mother are very welcoming. Gus' mother took good care of us. We felt like we were part of the family instead of being guests or customers. Even though breakfast was not included in our booking....we were offered breakfast. Meticulous attention was paid to the finest details and to our well being. Experiencing a stay at Uncle Loy's is an opening to Thaï hospitality and subtlety.

GermanyLovely boutique hotel. I booked it because of the reviews and the place didn't disappoint. I arrived quite early in the morning and was able to check in right away which was great after a long flight from Europe. The room isn't big but very tidy and neat. I always had lots of fruits for breakfast, eggs and toast were also available. The location is good if you prefer a quieter area. Close to Wat Arun and the Palace plus you can reach a lot of places like IconSiam, Chinatown and a BTS station for further transportation if you take a boat (the boats stop running after 7 pm but getting a grab back is easy enough). The owners are very nice people, gave me great recommendations about things I could do in the city and Beb even took me to a market to buy ingredients so we could cook together :)

IrelandVery little as it fit all of our needs for our short stay in Bangkok.
It was a lovely small but modern boutique hotel. Lovely dining and sitting area to the front and the bedrooms were spacious and very clean. Good location to the main areas within the city.

SingaporeWe were well taken care of by our friendly hosts. Location away from the hectic tourist centre of Bangkok, in a local neighbourhood - you can do however much or little as you want. We saw another tourist just chilling at their breakfast area the whole morning with a book and coffee. We also visited a nearby local temple at the recommendation of Gus' mother. We enjoyed the local Wang Lang market for its food, affordable clothes and shopping. Rooms were clean and pleasant - at the price we paid, definitely value for money. Beds on the harder side, but not a bad thing for us. The best thing is the memories we made with our hosts Gus and auntie. Auntie is the sweetest lady and when she heard we wanted to take photo with her, she excused herself to get changed and doll herself up to look good for the photo, she is so cute and friendly and makes a great plate of Mango Sticky Rice :) 100% will stay here again when coming back to Bangkok. This is a true Bed & Breakfast local experience - and the irony is that they are not even on AirBnB!

TurkeyGus and his mother are incredibly hospitable. I stayed at this hotel on both my visits. If I go to Bangkok again, I will stay here. The location of the hotel is very good, you can reach the Grand Palace in a short time by just crossing the river. The cleanliness of the rooms, the comfort of the beds, breakfast, everythings are amazing.

Gus and his mum are the most amazing and kind hosts. They have made something so special with Uncle Loy’s! A quiet and serene oasis so close to the city’s landmarks. Comfortable, super clean rooms. Lovely garden area and complementary breakfast of perfect eggs, fresh fruit and the best mango sticky rice. We loved our stay so much - we will be back!

MexicoThe hosts are very nice people, we arrived at 6:45 am and they let us come to our room at 10 am, after it was clean, after 32 hours between flights it was very much appreciated. They were more than perfect, very helpful with our questions and their recommendations. At the end they gave us mango sticky rice and fruit while we waited for our ride. A good location to visit Wat Arun, the grand palace (you just cross the river, which only costs 4.5 bahts) and main locations in Bangkok, very calm and amazing room

The location, the room, the staff and owners and the breakfast. The room was very clean. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. We loved the breakfast. The area is quiet, but it is easy to access the main attractions. The ferry is close by and you can take it to the other side of the river where you will find the Grand Palace and other attractions. You can also buy tickets for the hop on and off boat, which was really good. Wat Arun temple is within walking distance (15 mins) or jump on a boat. The 7/11 is a short 5 minute walk away.

United KingdomBeds are quite hard, but did manage to sleep well. The two little windows in the bathroom don't have glass or mosquito net, so let mosquitoes in. No kettle in room.
Quiet location on West Bank of River opposite to The Grand Palace, so convenient for most of the major sights. Owners were very kind and helpful and even gave me a free breakfast. Very clean and a good breakfast.

GermanyOur hosts were very kind and helpful! Situated a bit outside of the touristy streets of Bangkok on the other side of the river, Uncle Loy's is a calm place to rest after enjoying the city. Just 5 minutes away, boats take you across the river into the city center. The transport is fast, cheap and was one of our daily highlights. Rooms are clean, small but comfortable. We can recommend to stay here!

United StatesNothing. Just be aware the location is not for everyone.
Second time I’ve stayed here. It’s a sweet, immaculately well kept homestay located across the river from the Grand Palace. You take a cross river boat from nearby then it’s less than a 5 minute walk to the tourist entrance to the palace grounds. However the river ferries all stop somewhere around 7:30 pm so you’d have to taxi or use Grab back later at night. Breakfast is good and always includes their signature Mango Sticky Rice among other things. It’s situated in a neighborhood adjacent to the great local Wang Lang market where food, massages and clothing are available in great supply. If you are looking for a 5 star hotel experience and to be in the thick of the Bangkok night life this is absolutely NOT the place for you. If you are an adventurous, independent off the beaten path kind of traveler you’ll probably love it as I do.
