Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThe toilets need some work. There were foul sewerage smells coming out of the toilets.
The property was overall a pleasant place to stay in. The family room was spacious enough for the 4 of us. Hotel was quiet and everyone staying there respected the privacy of one another. I am also very glad there were no crying babies when we were there. Food/breakfast at the hotel was great too. Thankful we had staff like Jap and Pop to answer all our enquiries while we were there.

Israel- Our view of the beach was obstructed by the room in from of us. but the view of the area was breathtaking. - Take note that you do have to hike (15min) or take a boat to Railey beach (300Bhat) . The hike is NOT to be done at night. We got lost due to the high tide.
We loved our stay here!! staying in a glass room in nature was amazing!!| - The facilities were great and very clean - The rooms are spaced out nicely - Good WIFI - The beach is basically private The hike to Railey beach is okay. we really liked that we stayed in a quite place only a short walk away from Railey Beach

United KingdomThe pool could have been a bit cleaner!
You can’t beat the location of this hotel, if you like to relax in a lovely setting but be nearby to places like Railay & Ao Nang. The staff were great and the food was excellent. The little bungalows with their balconies were so lovely, and quiet too. We will definitely be coming back!

NetherlandsTonsai Bay is a secluded bay surrounded by magnificent rock formations. This also makes it the downside of the resort besides the restaurant there aren’t that many options to go out for dinner. The restaurant however serves a good variety of different dishes. The villas are nice and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the bay. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

For those wanting a quiet beach getaway, this hotel is perfect. It's tucked away in a peaceful spot and has cozy bungalows. We stayed in one with amazing views. The beach is beautiful and great for relaxing. The hotel restaurant is nice too. You can get there by boat. Also opportunity to take a hike to Railay Beach during the day. The staff are the best part. They're really friendly and helpful, making our stay special. While the rooms aren't super fancy, they're comfy and fit the relaxed vibe. Overall, if you want a calm escape, this hotel is great. It's simple, beautiful, and the staff make it even better.

United KingdomThere aren’t many dislikes for this hotel. The only thing that we struggled with a little bit was the restaurant and limited menu. We would highly recommend coming to this hotel with snacks and drinks as shops around the island are very limited!
This is probably the best hotel we stayed at while travelling through Thailand! We have booked the room with sea view and it was the best view to wake up to in the morning. We loved how private, secluded and intimate the hotel felt. The reception staff were lovely and helped us get a boat back to the mainland and helped us with our luggage. We’ll definitely be back! Lastly, we couldn’t believe how close Railay beach was to the hotel!

United KingdomThe breakfast was limited and sometimes power cut off due to its location) not a big issue just something to be aware of). Cost us 600 baht to get a longtail back to Ao Nang as we couldn’t guarantee enough people joining us on the boat to make it cheaper and we had a connection to make. This is something we were aware of before we arrived but just something to be aware of before booking :)
You cannot beat the views of this location. We loved waking up to the views of Tonsai Bay and being able to walk over to Railay West before all the tours arrived. Beautiful grounds and views.

Germany- Tonsai Beach is nicely located but not so good for people who love swimming - Sometime cockroaches in the bathroom
- The landscape is almost too beautiful to be real... - The huts and their view is a dream - Low density of huts gives an impression of huge space in paradise.. - Good breakfast - Very nice and helpful staff - Nice spots to relax around the beach - Located in a vast palm tree garden - Although being remote, you can do quite a long of things and move around to neighbouring beaches

United KingdomThe air conditioning was temperamental, it often changed and was pointing at the bottom of the bed, at times the temperature wasn’t cold. No mattresses for the sun loungers on rotten furniture made it uncomfortable, I appreciate this was due to cleaning however 3 of the 5 days was less than acceptable. Transfer increment could have been slightly less for the long tail boat.
Lovely location, quieter than Railay with a low amount of long tail boat traffic. Natural settings with local wildlife such as Indochinese Grey Langur monkeys. Hidden behind Tinidee is a number of shacks selling food/drinks. Tinidee is very accommodating and will assist with transfers from Krabi airport, though the long tail boat cost was expensive in comparison to what you could pay direct, I did appreciate the door to door approach therefore you get the added extras if willing to pay.

PortugalThere were not enough shady lounging areas and those that existed were monopolized the entire day. There is noise from the passing motorized long boats, but it quiets down in the evening.
The beach is beautiful and not very crowded. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room is divided into a bedroom and spacious shower / dressing area. You have a private veranda which overlooks the beach, however we didn't find the chairs comfortable enough to want to spend too much time there. This could be improved.

United KingdomThe only downside of the hotel was the breakfast options were limited (3 options). The downside of the area was the dependence on long tail boats which somewhat ruined the atmosphere and made the beaches not so fun to swim or snorkel in as they were loud and made the waters very murky.
The hotel was excellent all around, felt close to nature with monkeys and birds hanging around the hotel. The facilities were good and it was nice that they had spread out the seating areas to make them more private. They had some unique facilities such as swings and a slack line which was fun to try out. It was very convenient to have a water filtration system in our room!
