Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaExcellent resort. Good clean facilities. The kids pool was great entertainment for our child, he was obsessed. And the breakfast buffet has everything! The resort is walking distance to a variety of shops/markets and restaurants. And only a short taxi to the night markets which is easily organised at reception. All the staff were friendly and accommodating in every area,

The pool access rooms were great . Nice to return from a day's sightseeing and just cool down. Breakfast was plentiful and separate from families with children. You'll never go hungry.

SpainFor us there were a couple of things that slightly took the edge off our experience as a whole. The main one being the dining facilities. We visited at the beginning of June which is low season and the hotel was far from full, however the breakfast area was always chaotic, very busy and we felt a little squashed in like sardines. If you travel without children there is a separate smallish area which doesn’t permit children at breakfast time and there seemed a little better, but in general all very chaotic, I can only imagine how this would be when the hotel is actually full. The omelet station is poor, hidden behind food you can help yourself to making it hard to identify for both customers and the chefs alike who is wanting an omelet and who is just helping themselves to the other food options available. We only ate in the hotel restaurant once at lunchtime on our arrival day purely because of the prices. The food was average, not bad but we have had a lot better but it really felt that we were being taking advantage of when it came to price and portion size. We have spent a month in Thailand before arriving to this hotel and we know what our money buys us and we really were not happy paying the prices asked for both food and beverages. One simple example is a Soda water on a restaurant out on the street will typically cost 40-50 thb for the full glass bottle by Singha, in the hotel you pay 70 thb for a tall thin tube glass filled with ice and soda water from a pump. Tiny amount of actual drink and very expensive. I would recommend staying here for the facilities, beach and location and eating outside the resort for food, at the top of the street there are lots of reasonably priced restaurants with great food. We particularly like Spinach for tasty Thai food. The rooms have a huge amount of humidity in them. Quite ridiculous, and we personally have never seen anything like it.
The facilities and set up of the hotel are fantastic, you really cannot fault the swimming pools, slides and sun lounging areas, plenty of room, lovely and clean always ready for use. We were in a family room and it was nicely decorated and spacious with a good sized terrace with comfortable furniture, the bathroom is large and the shower has excellent pressure and nice toiletries. The staff that we interacted with were all very kind and helpful and they always smile and say hello as they pass you by. The life guards on the water slides in particular were very friendly and helpful especially with our 2 young children. The resort is very large so it takes quite some distance to cross from one amenity to another but a great way to get some extra steps in! The gym itself is really well equipped and on most occasions i had it all to myself. The beach is beautiful, really quiet and has lovely sand, though during our stay of 5 nights everyday was a red flag day with rough seas unfortunately so we didn’t get to spend much time down there despite the lovely weather. A great added bonus is on site self service washing machines and tumble dryers, which is a godsend when travelling with young children.

United KingdomNothing.
Beautiful and clean. Nicely spaced out with lots to do. Bars and restaurants were great, beach is lovely for a walk (not for swimming in rainy season though). Kids swimming pool was great, my 5 and 7 year old were entertained all weekend and loved it! Will be back.

IrelandPools could be better, they looked a bit more impressive on pictures, though that could be just me. Would be good to have more gradual depths in pools for kids.Slides were only open for a couple hours in the morning and afternoon, and also the lazy river was the same but open at different times (same life guard for both), seems a bit of a waste. Lazy river wall is like rough sand paper, easy to get injured if not careful. BBQ buffet on Saturday was a bit disappointing considering the price.
Room was nice. Breakfast choice quite good. Location beside beach is great

Australiawish the little golf carts would drive guests to the end of the road as a curtesy service. especially when you have little children and it’s raining or boiling hot.
We had a swim out pool and it was fantastic. The staff were exceptional and happy to help with anything we needed. The buffet breakfast was delicious every morning. we will definitely be back.

AustraliaSome of the facilities were a little old and not everything worked. (We had some issues with powerpoints, light switches not working etc) As wonderful as the pools were, they got uncomfortably hot in between the rainy days, so for a few days of the holiday they didn't provide any respite from the heat as the water was around 35 degrees!
The resort is pretty amazing, so many pool options and plenty of food options. Staff are so friendly and helpful, and it is a great spot for families.

Germanytl;dr Pristine beach is not private and without security control. Better priced restaurants and massages on the main road. Long version: For breakfast all are seated outside, no air conditioning. The hotel has a mobile app where you can order room service and receive warnings of jellyfish but unfortunately it didn't have the weekly evening magic show for kids and the advertisement appeared on the quiet side of the hotel, which we didn't attend regularly. The bathtub wasn't clean when we first entered the room but the room service came in briefly and cleaned. Outside the hotel, on the main road, a good selection of cheaper restaurants and massages.
tl;dr Huge kids club with supervision. Wonderful pools and small water Park. Good service. Long version: We enjoyed our stay at the Sands with a baby and a toddler on the "splash" and noisy side of the hotel. That side includes the small water Park, the big kids club, a restaurant with Pad Thai, pizza and stuff the kids can eat, with fairly reasonable prices but it closes at 18. The quiet side has a more prestigious restaurant, beach access and two pools: one for adults only and one for all. It has a lake with big fish with twice a day feeding time so little ones can help feed. The beach is about 5-10 minutes walking from the "splash" side. Breakfast buffet is also separated for families and adults by 2 different restaurants. We used the babysitting service for our baby. Someone from housekeeping came to the kids club (as per our request) and wonderfully played with our baby, while our toddler was fascinated by the vast variety of toys and entertained himself. The kids club staff is not interactive with the children (other than planned creative activities) and mostly watches the safety of the children. Parental presence is welcome. The hotel provides free water bottles and beach towels to your room. The baby got a wooden baby bed and our toddler used the extra bed/sofa which could be conveniently turned around so the back of the sofa became bed safety rails.

NetherlandsThe only thing I think it could be nicer is the middle lake; it has potential but it’s not very well taken care of specially when you compare with the rest which is all fantastic
The hotel is really well located with restaurants and supermarkets at walking distance; even though it’s a big hotel you don’t feel it too crowded and we never had problems in getting beds at the neach shore or table on the brekafast. The staff is very friendly and polite and I need to give a big shout out to Jimmy at the front desk tour bookings, if I could give him more rhan 5 stars I would do fore sire; fantastic person and allways willing to help, please tell him he made our stay extea special!!
