The waiting time at the all day dining is a little bit annoying. Just to note, not much to do in or outside the Hotel at night time.

Multiple pool options is a plus, our son enjoyed the kids pool. Rooms are very similar to the pictures in the web site, they are spacious and the housekeeping is good. You will have multiple options inside the hotel for food and the open buffet provides variety of options. Should you need, there are many restaurants at a walking distance along the main road of the Khao Lak. Staff are responsive and helpful. The kids club is nice and clean. All in all, it is a good Hotel for a family trip.

The staff were friendly . The food was nice. The grounds were lovely. Our grandchildren enjoyed kids club ( and the ladies running it were so nice). Loved the swim up pool to our room. 😀 our daughter enjoyed her massage at the spa. It was a lovely holiday with our family.

The main pool needs a clean, the water is cloudy and you can see lots of small rubbish swimming in it. I wish it was cleaned more thoroughly. We stayed at another place before we came to Khao Lak, and the swimming pools were much cleaner in our first hotel. Again safety issue - I think the height rules were created for a reason, and I wish staff was more reliable and checked on smaller kids’ height before letting them go on bigger slides. Breakfasts are quite boring, we ended up eating omelette every single day because there were not many options for breakfast. Not a big variety of fresh vegetables, I wish they had some fresh veggies sliced without any sauces and spices added. Same for small pastries - there were only plain croissants, that was it.

Very nice territory, very spacious and green. Rooms are very spacious too, it has sliding doors that separate master bedroom area from children’s area. Great kids club with lots of activities for kids (extra charges apply). A few swimming pools, one with a playground that suits perfectly for toddlers and one with bigger slides for slightly older kids (kids need to be higher than 120 cm to go on bigger slides, but I’ve never seen the staff checking on children’s height so I saw some small kids going on those bigger slides which I don’t think is safe enough)

Breakfast was very cold, not enjoyable. Also told kids breakfast a designated area, We really love kids but running around unaccounpanied where people are carrying hot drinks and food is very dangerous. Accidents waiting to happen.

-breakfast was very crowded. -sea was too rough, so we couldn't swim in it during our visit -like many locations, the room requires maintainance

-the swimming pool accessible via our room was great for my kids -great facilties in the hotel, too many to name them all -great variability at breakfast buffet. -although it was rainy season, contrary to other reviews there still was plenty of sun to enjoy. -location away from the main road, therefore not so busy/noisy.

Although the hotel has a no smoking policy throughout some people were still smoking on their balcony next to us which we did not like. Whilst the breakfast buffet has a good selection of food it was just too busy and chaotic to fully enjoy it,

We love everything about this hotel! We stayed in the Pool access rooms in the Aqua Wing which are large and very comfortable. The hotel location is amazing - its set on a beautiful sandy beach and just a 5 minute walk to the main road and Khao Lak center where there are plenty of great restaurants to eat in plus plenty of shop and bars. We also like that the resort is split into sections (adult pool, beach pool and water park) so it never felt too crowded and there were always sunloungers available. Our children loved the Kids Club. This was our second time staying at The Sands and we will definitely return again. Its relaxing for all with the friendliest of staff.

Just one little thing, there was a wetness smell in the rooms. Maybe because of the humidity or other reasons, but it wasn’t something too bad.

We were there with two little kids and it was very comfortable room, activities with the water slides and kids club. The staff is super nice. The food was good, also in the pool bar restaurant.

Amazing hotel right at the beach of Khao Lak. Excellent facilities, especially for families with children. The room was huge and had everything we needed, with the added bonus of a pool right on our doorstep. We'd love to stay here again sometime.

The family and couples only section is separate. We struggled with the family breakfast area as it feels like an airport hall - it is super noisy and hot and it was not pleasant to take breakfast there. The buffet selection was great though. In-room breakfast is offered but at additional cost which is a bit of a bummer.

Amazing hotel, close to Khao Lak center. Super friendly staff, great food, reasonably priced (even room service), nice entertainment and good program for kids and adults. Amazing water park and fully equipped kids club (they even several PS5 stations for older kids to enjoy) A place you can just relax while your kids have fun.

There is obviously a huge push to make this a more family friendly resort, which is ok, but the only pools with a bar allow children, where the only adults only pool doesn’t have a bar so I would suggest switching one of them up to still appeal to childless adults
