Great Villa, with amazing view. Well located, very private, well designed. The private pool is amazing and was hard to leave. Guy was a great host as well which is always a big plus !

Absolutely nothing

We absolutely loved our stay at The Place, Guy was so helpful, right from the initial booking and all through our stay, from picking us up at the port,dropping us to our next hotel, offering local knowledge amd a trusted taxi service. We stayed in villa 6, the honeymoon suite and it was beautiful, it had everything we needed, our little pool was lovely and the views were incredible! Oh and the bathroom with a view was amazing! We were close enough to the action if we wanted it but also far enough away for it to be peaceful night & day. It was incredible and we would definitely recommend

Guy and the team welcomed us from the moment we got off the boat and throughout our stay. Any questions or issues we had were quick to be resolved and the villa was amazing. The views are incredible especially at sunset! Guy had ensured everything was so easy with a pre agreed taxi service, wide selection of menus of food delivery places in the villa and even towels to take out to the beach. The pool and view from it was the highlight and so clean. We made lots of jungle friends such as Gary the gecko, Simon the squirrel and Larry the leaf insect. If you love nature this is The Place to be!

Small details that didn't matter to us but may be important to other travellers include the state of facilities, some of which are a bit dated, including the aircon, floors outside the villa, etc. They're in a good state, just not new as some may expect.

Beautiful villas, the views, the private pool, the quietness away from the busy beach side. Overall its a memorable place to stay (middle of the jungle!). Guy made us feel very welcome and handled our arrival, departure, and stay in very professional and nice way, offering assistance from the moment we booked to our departure. Thank you, Guy!

Fantastic private villa with all the facilities you need. The pool and view are amazing. The hosts were extremely welcoming with pick up from the pier and gave some great recommendations for Koh Tao.

Nothing was all just perfect.

Loved this place. I consider myself well travelled and would say this is in the top 3 places I have ever stayed worldwide. The owner, Guy, is an excellent host. He prearranged a seemless transfer from the pier to his beautiful resort, just 5 minutes away. These pool villas are amazing. They are even better in real life than the pictures. I understand that by writing this review, there is likely to be less availability for me next time I want to book whick is hopefully in May. This is as good as it gets for me in Thailand. Thanks, Guy, for your hospitality and for sharing your little corner of paradise.

One of the most incredible places we've stayed! Absolutely stunning location high up in the jungle, completely surrounded by the natural world. Short walk down to the beach / bars / restaurants. The pool was stunning to look out over the tree tops and down onto the ocean, especially at sunset. Guy was a fantastic host, we felt incredibly welcome and we were very well looked after.

I would add a central light control button on the exit. The pool, because of its red colour, could be a little cleaner just for the impression but understandably in the jungle with leaves and sand it’s nearly impossible…

Aside from the fact that the lighting in the villa was a little lacking, it had a couple more cons. However, they are also just the other side of the coin when we mention The Place's pros: 1. On the one hand, The Place is a 10-minute walk uphill from the center of town and the beach, but that's also what enables The Place to be so peaceful and quiet. 2. The Place is right in the middle of nature, and we loved that! However, because of that, we got quite a few mosquitoes and ants and needed to make sure to leave the doors closed (glass doors). If you like nature, this is definitely the place for you! (We sure loved it)

Guy is a real mensch, and the staff were very gracious. The villa was beautiful and truly charming as well. Not much can beat waking up in the morning to chirping birds, tranquil sounds of nature, and an outstanding view of the sea and the jungle... except perhaps an evening dip in your private pool that overlooks the sun setting into the ocean in front of you. Either way, The Place Villa 8 has both, and trust me, you don't want to miss out! Guy came to greet us at the pier when we arrived, which was very helpful as the pier was full of hustle and bustle, and also arranged our cab to the pier when we left.

Not a single thing to add here!

Literally everything!! This was the probably the most sensational place I ever stayed, everything was just perfect. From the location, to the views, to the vibe and all the little thoughtful elements. Guy was an amazing host as well, answering any questions super quickly and making it both a luxurious hotel stay feel but also boutique and unique. We loved Koh Tao itself so much, our only regret is not staying for longer! My favourite place in Thailand by far. The location of The Place itself, is just idyllic, far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Sairee so it feels calm and serene but also so close and easy walking distance if you don’t want to hire a bike to the main area for restaurants etc. very easy to use the recommended taxi service to get around also!

there is absolutely nothing to criticize whatsoever

where do I even start… the villas are eco friendly, the interior and exterior of the villas are absolutely marvelous, best sunset view from the bed and pool, great location and special mention to Guy who is the quintessence of hospitality… he made everything incredibly hassle free for us. There was no stress regarding motorbike rentals, payments, or communication at any point. cant beat this in terms of value for money. will return every year!

The double bed, at times and sometimes frequently was not very comfortable. Main reason being, the two beds got separated a lot and we had to readjust it quite a few times.

Beautiful villa, views to die for, very well serviced, villa interior and amenities were clearly very well thought out. Additionally, the staff were very friendly and accommodating - it felt like you could rely on them for anything.

Absolutely no dislike but be sure that you have good scooter-driving-self-esteem to get up the steep slope to the hotel (for us it was fun :-D)

Guy is a great uncomplicated (simply WhatsApp communication) and professional host, always busy but always available, which shows in the hotel: amazing view, quiet nights and still only 2min with scooter to all relevant shops/areas. We stayed 5 nights and would have stayed longer if our vacation days would have let us. Recommend renting scooter (as all thai islands) and easily directly through guy. The minibar (except drinking water and basic coffee powder/tea) costs extra with prices corresponding to the level of accommodation- but it's still cool that everything is there and you can easily shop at the minimarket down the road. So yeah perfect stay and wonderfully helpful service

We’ve absolutely loved our stay at the Place. The sea view and the private pool left us speechless, the cute kitchen and the tropical vibe bathroom were a plus. The bed was so comfortable, we had Netflix and more amenities, such as motorbikes for rent and snorkel equipment without deposit, there was no breakfast included but we ordered for take away in some local rests in the island. The location was really calm and overall, it was a great experience. As we are in a natural environment there were obviously some bugs so it’s important not to leave any food anywhere. We would repeat for sure. Guy was so helpful and friendly. Thanks for this dream stay!
