Cons: didn’t realize it when booking but “stairs to access” can mean up to 4 flights up / no elevator - the hotel knew I was disabled but didn’t tell me I’d be that far up until the day before arrival and then we had no choice but to pay extra for a ground floor room - so be careful what room you book. The wood decor is lovely but it gets musty smelling with all the humidity even with the AC on and none of our towels etc ever dried (granted we came in rainy season) we also occasionally had some issues with the key as the wood door warped a bit. Rooms might be sound proofed but the door is just a wooden sliding door (frogs and little lizards can easily get in which doesn’t bother us) but the sound came through so it was actually a little noisy at times with wind rain cars at one point banging sounds etc - but not too bad… main disappointment was that massages and food were very expensive comparatively to “normal” Thai prices (at our hotel in Samui we had massages on the beach for 350 thb and here they started at 800) and everything is relatively far away by car. If you have the money to pay resort prices then it’s a great place to relax.

Pros; aesthetically very pleasing resort as per the photos you see here too - absolutely beautiful decor, a lovely beach, great places to lounge like in the photos - very friendly and helpful staff, free kayaking, round trip transfers to some restaurants included, small mini bar with ok priced snacks. Netflix & stuff on TV, good internet. The cutest little cat at reception.

Not a problem with the property. Phuket is very big so please plan what you want to do before you book. This property is not really walkable to anything so if that is a problem for you consider elsewhere like patong

Beautiful rooms, private beach. The staff are exceptional. This is the best customer service I have ever received from a hotel. Day by day they helped me to organize meals and tours and all by texting me on whatsapp. I’m very grateful to the woman who was working reception I hope the owner sees this and gives her a raise she is wonderful. I have already recommend friends to come back here based on my interactions with her alone.

Wonderful ambience. Beautiful room and garden area which is absolute beachfront. Lounging nets and loungers overlooking the beach. Great pool in the sand! Very cool, Balinese/Pacifica vibe. Best of all was Grace at reception who looked after us so well and made us feel at home while we were the The Mooring Resort. Thank you Grace and team.

Beware of swimming in the sea, especially at low-tide. There are rocks/corals in the sea floor, these areas are unmarked and not-visible through the water. My fiancee and I were cut and had abrasions on our legs from wondering into the wrong areas. Perhaps, that area should be marked with flags or something like that. Maybe the reception should brief guests during check-in to avoid those areas. We did not know and it did spoil a bit of the holiday!

It is an excellent location away from the crowds, without the hordes and hordes of tourists. As the beachfront was private, there were at maximum, 6-8 perons using the deck chairs, beach beds when we were there. The views from the beach is A+++. The rooms are comfortable and has probably most of what you need for the stay (at least for us), it is very family friendly (the bungalow we booked was the SEA VIEW Bungalows) and there were free kayaks and toys for kids/babies. They provide a lot of beach towels, and you can grab them from their front desk. The staff there are very very helpful, especially Fon and Sunny. Everyone from the staff, the manager and even the owners (Huey Princess & Denis) are so so so friendly. They make it feel like a home away from home! Before you arrive to thailand or the resort, they will start communicating with you through whatsapp. That ensures a great check-in experience and minimizes any trouble or hassle. They helped me plan a wonderful 30th birthday for my fiancee. Please order the takeout food from the menu they have there! Eating food while lounging on the deck chairs, or in front of the rooms besides the pool, is a wonderful wonderful experience! They've gotten the best restaurants from around their area, and the food usually takes 30mins to arrive. If you do go out, the Panwa Cafe is a great choice, as they will pick you up and send you back from the cafe. Just let the front desk/reception know you wanna go there and they will ring up the Panwa Cafe for you. If you have the time to stroll and walk, Thai Sawasdee was another food place that we visited that was beside the sea. It was also great walking along the boardwalk with the sea-view after dinner.

It’s personal taste but we found the beds hard.

Great location, not a party location at all so fabulous if you are not wanting to surrounded by all the Patong party people. Staff were superb and everything was clean and tidy and well organised. We had one room ocean facing and one not. Both were great.

I would love to see the resort have more resources like motorbikes and kayaks/paddle boards available. Not a huge deal because my time was limited.

I hate that I can only give this place a 10. From the moment I booked the room, the staff was so attentive to our every need. Tips for the most efficient transport, figuring out our itinerary and to top it all off, ensuring the room was at a comfortable temperature by the time we arrived! I've never seen such attention to detail and a genuine level of care for all the guests here. I can't thank Joy enough for being our emissary while here. She took the time to get to know us and helped fine tune our activities to perfection. The rooms are very luxurious and quite spacious. The added touch of having a French press coffee maker in the room is fantastic.

Beautiful peaceful location right on the beach. Secluded beach with locals not many tourists. Lovely friendly staff. Our beachfront villa was very comfortable and clean. Lovely local restaurants nearby.

I would say “they have no restaurant,” but that doesn’t even matter. The Cove restaurant, part of a nearby resort, was literally a 20 second walk from our room, closer than many other hotels could claim. We had absolutely no problems with food during our stay.

Everything about our stay was exceptional! Trust me, if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, you’re going to love this place. It’s a little piece of paradise. We are so happy we booked the beachfront room for our stay, as the beach was always right outside our doorstep. Service was exceptional, always doing their best to ensure we had a quality experience. Joy and Maiekla were especially good to us, going out of their way multiple times to take care of us. Even though there were other guests at the resort, it never felt crowded. In fact, it always felt like we were in our own little bubbles, never really needing to interact at all. It made it feel as if the resort was completely our own. The pool, the reclining pool chairs, the hammocks…everything was available anytime we wanted. For the first time in a long time, my girlfriend and I felt completely relaxed and at ease. Not a care in the world. And we have The Mooring Resort to thank for that. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Loved my stay here. The hotel is located in a quiet cove and was the perfect relaxing stay. Clean, quiet rooms with lovely minimalist decor. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, arranged my transport to and from the airport and Old Town Phuket, in-room massages, and had plenty of other ideas for activities. I ate breakfast every morning at the hotel next door, so close it felt like the same property—the food was more Western than traditional Thai but all delicious, and couldn't beat the convenience.

Beautiful resort on a very quiet beach. The villas are tastefully decorated, spacious and comfortable. The beach is good for swimming; lovely calm water. Only at low tide you need to walk to another beach (just a 10 minute walk). There are a few restaurants within walking distance, and they also provide free taxitransfer. Next to the resort is a restaurant that is situated right next to the beach: it's open all day and serves good food. The minibar in the room is stuffed with drinks and snacks. Drinkingwater, as much as you need, is free of charge. There are plenty of deckchairs in the pool/beach area. The ladies at the reception are super friendly and helpful. Could have stayed here forever!
