Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThe place is bit away from the main island and could do better with the food taste there. Special when there is no access to the market or town.
The energy and. Vibes of the place is very quiet and relaxing. It's 30min boat ride away from the main Phi Phi island. The staff is very helpful and kind and will help you out with everything. They arranged everything for us. I would definitely want to come again and stay there

GermanyThe bungalow was quite small and mosquitoes. Our kids 2 and 5 years old were very happy at this property
It is a very quiet and very beautiful place on earth. The restaurant is very tasty, the most delicious in all of Thailand. The beach is like out of a magazine, the staff is very helpful.

AustraliaI liked everything but could do with more light in the bathroom for mirror use.
Loved this place! Stayed for 2 nights, which was enough to see the sights or just relax on the water. The resort is basic but authentic and an amazing price for this experience. An experience not to be missed!!

BrazilNew comers to Phi Phi, make sure how do they work! Cant access by car and its not easy and pricy to arrange the taxi boat (hotel only provides 2 rides), it is almost impossible to joy the beach as it is full of corals and urchins, cant bring food into room, not to attract rats.
Peaceful place among the nature, wonderful view.

South AfricaWhile our stay at The Cove had many positive aspects, there were some notable negatives. The Bamboo Units require some maintenance and upgrades. The beach needs daily cleaning to remove plastic bottles and other debris that wash ashore. Additionally, the property could be kept tidier. We noticed old swimwear left on some beach chairs, which didn't seem to belong to anyone and remained there throughout our stay, giving a poor impression. Please note, the resort is about 20 minutes away from the main beach (Tonsai Pier), requiring a boat taxi to reach. The cost for our group ranged between 200-250 baht per person one-way, so frequent trips to the main beach for markets, shops, and nightlife can become expensive. The Resorts offers transfer to the Tonsai Pier at certain intervals at a cost. Thankfully, the arriving and departing trip was for free. Thank you Cove for that. It was appreciated!
The Cove is a delightful retreat with incredibly friendly and helpful staff who ensured all our needs were met. The unit we stayed in was very basic and rustic, but given the breathtaking view and prime beachfront location, this wasn't a major concern. However, if you prefer modern amenities and luxurious surroundings, this might not be the best fit for you. For those seeking tranquility by the beach and who are not too concerned about luxury, this place is heaven. The breakfast was basic but sufficient. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at The Cove.

United KingdomHotel was right next to a garbage patch of rubble and rubbish just down the beach. Far too many Mosquitoes 🦟 but we made it through. Didn’t like the brown bed sheets. White is much nicer. Lots of ants in the bedroom. Very steep hike up the hill to the villa everyday. But good exercise 🏃♂️
Fantastic location with private beach. Staff went out that little extra way to help us with our two very young babies. Fantastic for kayaking & Snorkelling. Fantastic view and large villa room. Very spacious.

United Arab EmiratesOnly thing we didnt enjoy was the small beds. Unfortunately, it was more for a single person with a hard mattress. The mosquito net was also too small for the bed.
Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. The location was perfect and the breakfast in the morning was good.

PortugalThe transportation is tricky. The hotel only has 2 shuttles per day and the timings are not aligned with the ferry. If you get to the island any other time, it can be very expensive to find a boat that brings you to the hotel. You can get one easily, but it's expensive. The food at the hotel is also expensive comparing to other places in Thailand, but it's the only option and they know it.
The place is very quiet and beautifu, very good facilities. The hotel staff are nice. They offer daily tours that are good as well. It's a nice place to relax.

United KingdomThe accommodation was beyond basic - thank goodness there was a fan along with the Aircon. The shower room was very very very basic but just about functional. The doors didn't really meet so there were lots of bugs in the room. It would have been lovely to sit outside and enjoy the scenery but it was too hot - if there was a fan on the terrace it would be amazing. If you're not fit the hike up the hill to your room in that heat would be extremely difficult. Having said all this - we absolutely loved it and would go again but would pay for an upgrade if there is a choice.
The staff were amazing - so so so friendly and helpful, as was the location- very secluded. The restaurant was excellent too as was the beach! A real jungle meets tropical beach vibe.

CanadaThere wasn't anything not to like. Longboat required to get into town so no walking to restaurants. Only one restaurant at the resort but the food was fabulous. Very good Thai food and a simple but nice breakfast as well. The beach is a bit rocky in places especially when the tide is out but the water is beautiful. If you are one who wants to party then this is probably not the resort for you. Quiet and romantic in a way that takes you back in time.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating, this is the big draw here. It's quiet and quaint and isolated. Nice bamboo bungalows but a very simple and basic resort.

SwitzerlandThere's no decent shuttle service to the village. The only options are shared boats at 8am and 12pm (200B pp) or private boat bookings (1000-1500B pb). Not a problem for short stays but when staying a bit longer you might want to try out a different place to eat or buy some groceries which quickly becomes expensive. Also be aware that the bungalows are poorly isolated which makes them quite noisy. Every boat passing by at the sea sounds like a lawn mower next to your bed.
Beautiful place a bit off the beaten track with nice beach. Lovely bungalows and friendly staff!

United KingdomThe actual bungalows are very basic but so authentic. The water was a little yellow from iron so not for those seeking luxury and mod cons
This remote place on Phi Phi is so perfect and a complete paradise. Away from all the hussle and bussle. We basically had the place to ourselves. The staff are unbelievably friendly and so sweet who make you feel like royalty. Snorkelling here has the most amazing coral and I couldn't tell you how many different species of fish I saw, I loved it and was in the sea most of the day. Food and drink very nice
