Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsImprovements: 1) Breakfast is the worst we have had in Thailand and the restaurant needs more cleaning. 2) WiFi is also not good. If you are in the main building is better otherwise not.
Location is good but it is not as quiet as we thought. If you travel with kids of 5yo~6 or below, the facilities are very nice for them, although opening times (10-18h) of kids club & pool are not what we hoped for as ours is most active in the early morning and evening. The gym is small but good to run with airco.

UruguayEverything was fine, altho' more attention to the gym's equipment could be given.
First, we were put in its sister facility called Apple-a-Day; Capuchin itself was closed. Room was very nice, the gym was "okay"--it just had two dumbbells and most of the lead weights which could be added were missing--, the pool was "okay" (a triangular, red-colored thing). No breakfast was included, but complimentary snacks were available both in the room and in the lobby. The staff was stellar!!

United StatesThey should be more clear that the reception is the same as Apple a Day. If I hadn’t read in a review, I would have thought the hotel scammed me when I arrived as the Capuchin coffee shop/reception on the street is totally closed. Some signage would help too. No elevator. The water pressure in my shower was terrible esp if you use warm or hot water - the higher the temp, the lower the pressure.
I loved this stay. From the moment I walked in til I left, everyone was so kind. First of all, it’s shared with Apple a Day and I saw into some of those rooms, they are identical. The major difference is Capuchin doesn’t have an elevator and all the facilities (which you get to use included with the room) are located in Apple a Day, which is just behind Capuchin. The gym, the pool, afternoon snacks served in the lobby - all free. They also restock complimentary snacks (2 bag of chips and some Oreos), coffee/tea and 2 bottles of water in your room daily. Additionally they have a beach bag, a beach mat, paddles/ball and umbrellas stocked in the room along with slippers, a safe, tea kettle and fridge. Oh and there is a wifi server IN THE ROOM. I don’t know if that’s in all of them, but mine (C401) had one and it was fantastic. They thoroughly clean the rooms daily and replace towels. The A/C works well and there was plenty of hot water. Oh AND they have free bicycles you can use, just head to the lobby early to snag one for the day.

HungaryWe stayed in the older building. There wasn't a remote control for the air condition, and it was not possible to set the temperature. So it was very cold or very hot :(
The room was spacious and clean, the breakfast was really good, the stuff friendly and helpful. I could recommend this place for everybody.

SingaporeThe Capuchin Hotel has no front office, cafe n lift.. We hv to walk up 4 floors to our room n Apple a Day handles all check in/out matters frm their own front office tht is 100m away.. Could be eerie when u hv to walk to yr rooms at night cos no security around n the side entrance to the Capuchin is ajar all the time.. Need more security to feel safe at night cos Apple A Day lobby is quite far..
Huge room with comfortable bed.. Very clean n well maintained..

United KingdomThe shower leaked a lot, we weren't told beforehand that we'd actually be staying at the connected Apple a Day resort, which was the same as the pictures so not a major problem, just confusing when we arrived and The Capuchin reception was closed.
The bed was huge, air conditioning great, and loved the pool. The location was perfect for either walking to Ao Nang beachfront or jumping on a tuk tuk.

SloveniaThe Capuchin Hotel is currently not working, so we were staying in Apple a day. however, when we arrived at Capuchin we didn’t know that, because no one told us that, so we were a bit shocked. Then we called the hotel and they navigate us to the right hotel.
Room is so nice, clean, bright. We liked everything about it. also breakfast was very delicious with a lot of choices.
