Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandYou do need a scooter to get to any beaches or things to do from here (they’re very cheap to rent though!!)
The manager was so friendly and went above and beyond for us. The room was very cozy and cute - shared areas were kept very clean. Had a lovely family sort of vibe.

United KingdomToilet flush in the shower/toilet downstairs didn’t always work properly but this is very minimal and picky!
Very comfortable and homely feel to the accommodation and room. Free cold drinking water. Facilities cleaned daily by house keeper and filled up shower gel and shampoo. Provide booklet with extensive information about food places, laundry, tours etc. There is also a cafe at the front of the property which was nice.

ThailandAmazing Amazing place, beautiful guest house near the old town, which is probably the best place to stay in Koa Lanta. Very good value for money, it was a comfortable, friendly and peaceful environment. The owners Maya and Mon are amazing at what they do and care so much about the customers, Ton will also help you with every step of your stay. They even went through the effort of making a guide book to tell you about activities you can do on the island. There is a little cafe where you can have breakfast/ lunch and a kitchen if you wanna make your own food. The bathrooms and bedrooms are spotless, we stayed in a bedroom but the dorms looked great too. Couldn’t speak more highly about this place, our favourite accommodation in Thailand and SUCH good value for money. Also check out their YouTube channel SweetLifeLanta!

United KingdomWould have been nice to be greeted by someone instead of talking to someone on the phone but it’s not a big deal.
Was very clean and well looked after. They had a whole kitchen and living room which was free to use. It was really close to the old town and was right by the sea so was a beautiful location. The bed was the comfiest bed we slept in so far. The owners were super nice and helped us with our transfers when we left. I can tell there’s a lot of love and care put into this place. Best place we stayed in Ko lanta for sure. Thank you!

Can’t recommend here enough!!! Cute and very clean, near to old town!! Amazing homely feel! Family who run it leave a book with loads of tips on how to make the most of your time there! Nice relaxed place to meet people in shared areas! Honestly one of our best stays on our backpacking trip!! And especially for the price, you can not beat it!!!!!!! There’s a beautiful cafe right on your doorstep run by their friend Sam too!! Highly recommend!

This was a lovely place to stay. My room had a balcony and it was simply but beautifully furnished. The coffee/breakfast bar downstairs is a great addition. The communal bathrooms were very clean. The manager, Ton, was great, nothing was too much trouble for him. I could store my bag when I went to Koh Por for 2 days, which helped me out a lot.

United KingdomIt’s down quite a quiet dark road which I didn’t love walking down at night but it’s really not that far from town, maybe a 10 min walk.
Really beautiful guesthouse, such a lovely building. Everything about the room was amazing. The balcony overlooking the sea with a hammock was especially nice. The staff were really helpful, they even provide a detailed book of everything to do on the island which was such a nice touch.

GermanySometimes communal bathrooms were flooded but that is of course because of guest behavior.
Such a cosy space with a unique setting. I loved the proximity to old town and hearing the waves of the sea every morning. I felt like everywhere on koh lanta there were mostly couples and families but also some really lovely solo travelers. But of course the experience will vary depending on your fellow guests. The hosts and staff are amazing and most welcoming.

South KoreaEverything was truly wonderful. One thing I would suggest however is offering at least one flatter, softer pillow for the bed. Aside from that everything was very comfortable, and I have nothing to add.
The accommodation was very well-appointed, clean and comfortable. I love the quiet neighborhood and how close it is to Old Town's attractions. The host was incredibly helpful throughout my stay, assisting me with all of my transport arrangements.

United StatesI only stayed for a night but would have liked to stay longer. A beautiful property, great interior, you can really feel the love to detail in everything. A nice walk along a street lined with palm trees brings you to Old town which is great to eat and shop. Ton, who welcomed me to the guesthouse was so nice and helped me arrange a pick up the next morning, he went out of his way for me. Very sweet.

United KingdomWe didn’t mind but there are multiple people staying in the property so it’s occasionally loud. Like I said we loved it though.

This was one of our favorite stays in Thailand. Maayan and Ton were amazing in making sure we were always taken care of. The stay itself was perfect and even though there were shared spaces like the bathroom and kitchen it never felt crowded (plenty of bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs). We had the rooms with the two bunk beds since there were 4 of us in total (2 adults/ 2 kids). The beds were so comfy! A perfect and peaceful getaway in the Old Town.

United Statesthere were a few maintenance aspects that stood out to me while i stayed, which would be really easy to adjust and have a lot of payoff! two of them were the internet & the kitchen. i had a room upstairs and most nights the wifi was very slow or occasionally not functional. and in the kitchen, i felt that some of the items in there are due to be replaced. i think that if they do these things alone, it would continue to make this a really great guesthouse (the kitchen space was one of the main reasons i chose it!)
this was a really great balance of amenity mixed with a low-key environment. i enjoyed my daily walks down the road into old town, hearing the water hit the shore and watching the neighborhood animals strolling around. people were switching in and out of the guesthouse every couple days so i didn't meet anyone that was around for as long as me (a little over a week) but i felt comfortable, safe, and the manager even showed me how to drive a scooter which was wildly exciting for me.

United KingdomSuper clean and comfortable! Quiet area just outside of the centre but a 5 minute walk in to the Old Town. Cheap moped rental available here and 2 minutes away. Definitely recommend staying here rather than the other side if you want something a bit different and it’s easy to get to the other side for beaches. Guesthouse offers pickup from the boat and most bus companies offer free/cheap pick up if you’re moving onwards by bus afterwards.

PolandThis is a truly unique place to spend a few days in Old Town. We booked for 3 days and stayed for over a week. The rooms are diverse, clean and very nicely decorated. The shared bathroom is ok, close to the entrances to the rooms. There is a kitchenette downstairs where you can prepare meals. Manager Ton is great! We spent a lot of time talking. He recommends good and cheap restaurants, rents a scooter, and organizes trips. He speaks English well, so communication is great. But probably the most important thing is what kind of people come there. These are people who want to really feel the atmosphere of Thailand. Thanks for this time and we recommend this place to everyone!
