Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThey don’t want you to leave! It’s very expensive to get taxis to other areas of the island and the pathway to the beach beside the hotel is dangerous.

SwitzerlandTransfer The transfer to the hotel was quite an adventure. There is not pier upon arrival, so you had to step from the speedboat in the sea. I wish we would have been informed before hand, because our clothes got wet up to the groin. On our departure the sea was wavey and we were completely wet up to the lower half of our shirts. We just wish that we were informed beforehand to be able to change clothes. Departure early in the morning Furthermore, if you fly back in the morning be aware that there is no ferry early in the morning (earliest usually 8am). Our fligh was moved forward to 9.15am. So we had no other option than to either leave one day earlier with the last ferry that leaves about 6pm and book another room for the night in Koh Samui or to book a private speed boat (offered by the hotel) that costed us 10'000THB (about 250-270USD). If you trust an independent transfer service, you pay half or less as we understood. But we choose the transfer by the hotel because we did not want to risk missing our flight and trusted the hotel to be on time. Overpriced laundry service You can get laundry service outside the hotel for about 500THB for 5kg of laundry (50-100THB per kg). If you use the hotel laundry service you pay about 80-200THB PER(!) every item, for example one pair of socks for 80THB. So you easily pay round about 20-30 times more if you use the laundry service offered by the hotel. Even if they wash your clothes more carefully than public laundry services this seems like a major rip off. Depending on how much you want to get washed, you easily pay as much as your whole stay for 1 week costs. I would be okay with paying more than outside the hotel, but not 20-30 times more... Breakfast times Breakfast buffet closed at 10.30am, which is too early for late risers and people with jetlag. 11.00-11.30 would be perfect. Beach road There is only one direct road walking road directly to the beach that seems quite dangerous (rocky, slippery, barbwires).
Hotel and room The hotel is very beautiful and very special. There are many wood carvings with so many details that you could spend a whole day just admiring them. The room itself, the outdoor shower and view of our room was spectacular. The hotel complex is very extensive and kind of "on a cliff". So, depending on your room loaction it is a bit far to walk to the main entrance or reception/restaurants. But there is a 24/7 car service (small wooden cars) that you can call whenever you do not want to walk. They are also very fast to pick you up, so you do not have to wait long. Breakfast Big selection, excellent quality! Beach The beach nearby (Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach) was the beach we did like the most of Koh Phangan besides maybe Bottle beach (we have been to about 5 other beaches in Koh Phangan, also on the west of the island). Service The service of the hotel was just perfect! We felt like there is no request that would not be fullfilled by the staff. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. You reach them by phone or whatsapp 24/7. Gym The gym is much bigger than you can see on the pictures and open from 7am-8pm if I remember correctly. The gym had very good equipment for a hotel gym (Smith Press, Rack with 2 barbells and sufficient plates, 2x Chest Presses, Rowing/latpull down stations, Leg curl/extension combo, Chest fly machine, V-station double cable, dumbbells up to 25kg, 2 adjustable benches, dip station, pull up station, kettlebells, several cardio machines etc.) so even as an ambitious person you can train reasonably without going to a public gym. The gym was also very clean and when I trained the gym was empty, indpendent of the time of the day). Location If you plan to relax this side of the island is perfect. Altough the island isn't that big be aware that there is no direct road from the north east (Santhiya Hotel side) and the north east.

We had the hide away pool villa. It was a great villa, very luxurious with an awesome pool. You can hardly see or hear other accommodations. Great setup of the whole park in the jungle. Superb and friendly staff. Great cars to bring you everywhere on the hilly location. Amazing breakfast, good restaurants. Beach at hotel is not that nice, but it’s great after a 5min walk. 10min walk away very nice street. This is a quiet bay. Definitely a great place to stay. It’s expensive, but good value for the money.

IsraelThere were ants in our room. We told the reception about that and they cleaned it up, but in the evening they came back again..
Beatiful hotel! The pool was very big and nice. The staff were amazing, always there to help you with whatever you need. We had a private pool in the room, overlooking the bay - which was stunning. The breakfast had huge variaty, and they actually keep the fruits and vegtebels in a refrigerator, so it's fresh and tasty (not many hotel in Thailand do that). There's also an AC sitting area so that's a huge plus. We were staying here during the full moon party, and they offered a round trip there from the hotel in a fair price.

IsraelThe noise woke up us early - but as mentioned, it is part of this hotel location and you should be ready and aware.
Santhiya location is in the 'woods' - it is kind of inside a jungle you walk around, and as such you need to be ready for the diff noises during nighttime. We loved the hotel and the area. It was a very unique experience - the use of the internal shuttle, the isolated location of the Villas inside, the staff and the outstanding service, the hotel's beautiful design, the breakfast was nice too, the beautiful pool (nice and cool water). Just bear in mind the noises of the 'jungle', and the different bugs may land on your balcony, so you are prepared and ready.

Netherlands- no nurse/medical staff at the resort. I needed some help but the nurse couldn’t come for longer than 1h. I think it’s necessary to have someone on call, especially considering the size of the complex and kids around - it’s a huge resort and a lot of stairs
It’s a beautiful resort. The room was clean and there are great swimming pools, also with easy access to the beach. It’s perfect if you want to spend some time relaxing without leaving the place

United KingdomIt was expensive, lovely but expensive. We spent the same on three nights here for a family of 5 as we would for a week in a French villa! Given how much we paid I was very disappointed we were charged extra for a glass that blew over in the breeze. I was also disappointed that we were charged for an extra person when both of the rooms clearly slept three people. This feels like a mean way to make extra money but this policy is common in other places we stayed. Breakfast was amazing but evening meals were very expensive for what we got. I would definitely avoid the “fish market” evening. The fish was unbelievably expensive and over cooked. There is another restaurant on the beach that is cheaper and fish was much better cooked. It is tired around the edges but any repairs needed were done promptly by wonderful staff.
The view was absolutely fantastic from our grand villa. The breeze made the heat comfortable. The rooms were absolutely lovely. There is much more to do in this bay than some of the reviews suggest. Local food. 7/11 etc a short and beautiful walk away. A real treat after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Breakfast was unbelievably good. If you can afford the price tag stay here. It’s wonderful. The resort transport was much better than some review suggest. The only time we had an issue was trying to get to breakfast ten minutes before it closed! Clearly everyone else was also being lazy so there was a rush. Totally understsndable. .

OmanThe housekeepers did a good job cleaning the villa and the room, but didn’t completely ‘make up room’ and tidy up the villa. There was simply too much wildlife moving too close in and around the villa including a large snake, which I observed probing ways to access it (thought to be a King Cobra), a loud Tokay lizard in the bathroom and noisy activity by some creatures having a ‘party’ on the roof (mosquitos were few). Of course, during jungle stays neighbouing wildlife is part of the ambiente and can be enjoyable upto the point when it becomes intrusive and disturbing and potentially dangerous. While the housekeeping staff immediately attended our wildlife-related alerts and any other requests, we still decided to change to a less frequented and more relaxing room.
The Santhiya resort is in a lush and vibrant jungle and with its traditional Thai style architecture it is stunningly beautiful. The villa (1505) , in which we stayed first, was spacious with its own pool and veranda with sea view and an attached external bathroom. The staff especially Mr.Noo, the senior resort manager, was very friendly and acommodating when we requested a change to an also beautiful room with pool access (3102). All rooms were very clean. The breakfast buffet’s selection was nice though not lavish. Their wooden cars are within minutes available to transport guests in the hilly terrain of the resort. Our transfers by speedboat and car between Koh Samui, this resort and back were efficient and punctually arranged by Santhiya.

GermanyIt is like everyone else says: you are directly in the jungle, which means a shower outside and posioness centipeders once or twice. We also had a snake on our balcony who visited us daily. It's not for everyone, and you should know what you get. I also want to mention that most of the staff don't speak proper English which made it difficult to communicate sometimes (e.g. when to pick up laundry or with our snake problem).
We loved the calmness of this wonderful hotel - only the birds and the Geckos sounds in the morning, the waves from a distance - if you'd like to relax it's the perfect stay. Such an amazing staff! The breakfast was great, best breakfast I had in whole Thailand!
