Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumThe first two nights we stayed at the older pool villas. However after two days we asked to change rooms since this room had some problems: the light in de swimming pool didn't work well, there was a big spiders they could catch and overal the room was very old and needed renovation. The food is the restaurant wasn't as good as you expect in a five star hotel. Also the singer and DJ that came every night didn't match the vibe of the hotel. If the older rooms get renovated and the restaurant improves the kitchen, It could easily get a 10.
The hotel was perfectly places withing nature and a cosy bay. The staf was extremely friendly. The transfer by speedboat from Koh Samui airport is perfect. Amazing breakfast.

IsraelThe hotel is spread in a hilly area and it is quite complicated to move around , despite the wooden trucks that take you anywhere you want. I prefer walking but there are hills and stairs. Very not recommended for parents with trollers, old people or disabled. The beach is full of rocks. Very not recommended. There are rocks everywhere. In the bathroom , in the pool. All of us left with wounds. The hotel is a bit distance from the nearby village. We had to walk 10 minutes or take an expensive taxi.
The pool was very big and fun. The staff was amazing and very helpful.

New ZealandThe small beach was sadly not as nice for swimming due to a murky sludgy and rocky bottom. Had to walk over to the main beach for sea swimming. Had an extremely disappointing Tom yum goeng at the beach restaurant - no flavour, no colour and very small plus it was lukewarm. We would have been embarrassed to serve it ourselves as we make our own (far better) at home. Sent it back, paid for drinks and left.
The buffet breakfast was great, fabulous selection set in a stunning environment. Found it quiet and relaxing Loved the old world charm of the traditional Thai architecture. The shuttle service was quaint and unique. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.

United StatesService was slow, not very helpful. We had to wait an hour to check in even though we took their boat service to get there. Our safe was broken and we had to ask several times to get it fixed. We also asked for info on snorkeling trips but they were not helpful. We ended up hiring a private guide to take us around the island. The restaurants are very expensive compared to other local places— if you can figure out how to get there, go to Thai nai Pan noi or yen for better food that is much less expensive.
The view from the room is nice and the pool is beautiful. It feels authentically Thai.

BrazilThe resort relies on wifi for everything: from ordering food at the restaurant to whatsapping for room service, and the wifi is really bad! We felt quite stuck without any reception. The room's phone also crashed and we couldn't request the truck that takes you around everywhere (once again feeling stuck), so we had to walk up and down the hills. Electricity was out due to a storm and the generator was so loud, right in front of the room. If wifi is properly fixed, this will be an outstanding place to stay!!
The resort is beautiful with two swimming pools, view, beach front, restaurants etc. There are many facilities for those who enjoy: spa, library, shop, kayaking and more. The room we stayed in: Pool with Garden View was very beautiful and private.

IndiaThe pool room has an extra Jacuzzi outside which is a waste cause it's filled with smashed fruits and ants. This is not even required as the pool is just amazing. Please remove that from there.
The property and the pool room are magical. It's a very unique and special experience being in that place. The breakfast buffet super is great and even offers a free massage which however many guests miss because it's not clear where when and how. The private pier is not functioning and hence it's a 20 minute drive after getting off the boat from koh samui.

SwitzerlandTransfer The transfer to the hotel was quite an adventure. There is not pier upon arrival, so you had to step from the speedboat in the sea. I wish we would have been informed before hand, because our clothes got wet up to the groin. On our departure the sea was wavey and we were completely wet up to the lower half of our shirts. We just wish that we were informed beforehand to be able to change clothes. Departure early in the morning Furthermore, if you fly back in the morning be aware that there is no ferry early in the morning (earliest usually 8am). Our fligh was moved forward to 9.15am. So we had no other option than to either leave one day earlier with the last ferry that leaves about 6pm and book another room for the night in Koh Samui or to book a private speed boat (offered by the hotel) that costed us 10'000THB (about 250-270USD). If you trust an independent transfer service, you pay half or less as we understood. But we choose the transfer by the hotel because we did not want to risk missing our flight and trusted the hotel to be on time. Overpriced laundry service You can get laundry service outside the hotel for about 500THB for 5kg of laundry (50-100THB per kg). If you use the hotel laundry service you pay about 80-200THB PER(!) every item, for example one pair of socks for 80THB. So you easily pay round about 20-30 times more if you use the laundry service offered by the hotel. Even if they wash your clothes more carefully than public laundry services this seems like a major rip off. Depending on how much you want to get washed, you easily pay as much as your whole stay for 1 week costs. I would be okay with paying more than outside the hotel, but not 20-30 times more... Breakfast times Breakfast buffet closed at 10.30am, which is too early for late risers and people with jetlag. 11.00-11.30 would be perfect. Beach road There is only one direct road walking road directly to the beach that seems quite dangerous (rocky, slippery, barbwires).
Hotel and room The hotel is very beautiful and very special. There are many wood carvings with so many details that you could spend a whole day just admiring them. The room itself, the outdoor shower and view of our room was spectacular. The hotel complex is very extensive and kind of "on a cliff". So, depending on your room loaction it is a bit far to walk to the main entrance or reception/restaurants. But there is a 24/7 car service (small wooden cars) that you can call whenever you do not want to walk. They are also very fast to pick you up, so you do not have to wait long. Breakfast Big selection, excellent quality! Beach The beach nearby (Thong Nai Pan Noi Beach) was the beach we did like the most of Koh Phangan besides maybe Bottle beach (we have been to about 5 other beaches in Koh Phangan, also on the west of the island). Service The service of the hotel was just perfect! We felt like there is no request that would not be fullfilled by the staff. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. You reach them by phone or whatsapp 24/7. Gym The gym is much bigger than you can see on the pictures and open from 7am-8pm if I remember correctly. The gym had very good equipment for a hotel gym (Smith Press, Rack with 2 barbells and sufficient plates, 2x Chest Presses, Rowing/latpull down stations, Leg curl/extension combo, Chest fly machine, V-station double cable, dumbbells up to 25kg, 2 adjustable benches, dip station, pull up station, kettlebells, several cardio machines etc.) so even as an ambitious person you can train reasonably without going to a public gym. The gym was also very clean and when I trained the gym was empty, indpendent of the time of the day). Location If you plan to relax this side of the island is perfect. Altough the island isn't that big be aware that there is no direct road from the north east (Santhiya Hotel side) and the north east.

We had the hide away pool villa. It was a great villa, very luxurious with an awesome pool. You can hardly see or hear other accommodations. Great setup of the whole park in the jungle. Superb and friendly staff. Great cars to bring you everywhere on the hilly location. Amazing breakfast, good restaurants. Beach at hotel is not that nice, but it’s great after a 5min walk. 10min walk away very nice street. This is a quiet bay. Definitely a great place to stay. It’s expensive, but good value for the money.

IsraelThere were ants in our room. We told the reception about that and they cleaned it up, but in the evening they came back again..
Beatiful hotel! The pool was very big and nice. The staff were amazing, always there to help you with whatever you need. We had a private pool in the room, overlooking the bay - which was stunning. The breakfast had huge variaty, and they actually keep the fruits and vegtebels in a refrigerator, so it's fresh and tasty (not many hotel in Thailand do that). There's also an AC sitting area so that's a huge plus. We were staying here during the full moon party, and they offered a round trip there from the hotel in a fair price.

IsraelThe noise woke up us early - but as mentioned, it is part of this hotel location and you should be ready and aware.
Santhiya location is in the 'woods' - it is kind of inside a jungle you walk around, and as such you need to be ready for the diff noises during nighttime. We loved the hotel and the area. It was a very unique experience - the use of the internal shuttle, the isolated location of the Villas inside, the staff and the outstanding service, the hotel's beautiful design, the breakfast was nice too, the beautiful pool (nice and cool water). Just bear in mind the noises of the 'jungle', and the different bugs may land on your balcony, so you are prepared and ready.
