Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomVery poor service, particularly in the grotto restaurant. Staff have a very basic grasp of English which is bizarre considering this is one of the most prestigious hotels in Thailand. The staff also had a very concerning approach to hygiene, which was evidenced by the huge amount of insects, particularly mosquitoes. In other 5 star hotels in Thailand we have seen them be very proactive with spraying areas with mosquito repellent, but there was no sign of that here. Also there was an awful smell of monkey poo everywhere, particularly by the pool, which spoiled the experience - however I can understand why this was as it is such a tropical location where you are so connected to nature. The most concerning part of this we encountered was at the Grotto restaurant, a supposed Michelin-grade restaurant (food was very average!). Whilst an enviably beautiful location, the staff had no grasp of basic hygiene. A child dropped a plate of food in the sand and instead of the staff picking up as much as they could, they just buried it in the sand - we couldn’t believe what we saw! There explains the insect problem!
Probably one of the most beautiful locations on the planet, especially the two beaches and the swimming pool. You are also very connected to nature here and can see monkeys, hornbills and monitor lizards on a daily basis. Food at the lunch restaurant by the pool was excellent and by far the best on offer at the hotel.

Saudi ArabiaIt is complete ripoff For a luxury expensive hotel you would expect to be given amenities and lots of complementary services. Imagine you have to pay to arrive and leave the hotel? Imagine the minibar with its limited variety nothing is complementary? Imagine a resort that you would expect having relaxing beach is completely overcrowded with tourists like ants on a sugar? I wouldn’t say any of this if the rate is at least 70% leas than what it is charging, and it really worth that much.
The staff is ultimately nice and welcoming

MalaysiaOh… where to start… Very low ceiling in the room, very mediocre food, surrounded by drug addicts as soon as you leave the property, all beaches are public so little or no privacy… staff was efficient but without warmth but one particular member of staff beyond rude (he was French, so who knows…) Five star pricing… but oh… so far away from a five star experience… what a shame…!
Stunning location… beautiful surroundings…

SingaporeEven when we spray ourselves many times against Mosquitos. We were bitten more than 40 times!. The architecture of the hotel doesn’t help with mosquitoes as there are several stagnant water pools! Spa is absolutely overpriced. it doesn’t worth the money. We’re a couple that we sought to have good facilities including gym. Gym was absolutely outdated, AC unit was not sizeable for the room, it was impossible to get wet towels as they were inside of the minifreezer and the box was absolutely frozen making impossible to obtain one towel. Speedboats and transfers from/to Krabi are not included in your booking. Benchmark hotels do include as part of their fees.
the location in just simple perfect. You have the option either to be at Railay or Prha Nang beaches

BrazilThe price! Everything absolutely expensive. Also the food was nothing special. Railey beach was terrible with the noise of local boats all day long. How can they allow that? The hotel must take actions with local parties to immediate cease the noise of the boats. Besides being aggressive to nature it simply does not allow clients to relax.
I liked the staff! Incredible staff! All very polite and educated. Made the difference in the hotel!

CanadaThere’s some maintenance issue we had persistant internet problem that were not solved even after we told management about it and a very bad sewage smell kept coming from one of the toilet. When we reported those issue a simple apology was offer but no solution or compensation. Also it’s worth nothing that although there’s security guards everywhere they’re not very vigilant people still walk in including around unsupervised luggage. the manager was there on our first day but was nowhere to be seen afterward
Prime location in Railay peninsula it’s the only resort that allow access to all three beaches. The cottages are cozy and well kept and the food is decent. A vast choices of activities are available but at a cost.

United Kingdomthe hotel is a bit outdated and definitely overpriced. the rooms are nice and comfy, but for nearly £600 a night in the most basic accommodation you would just expect more. there was no free loungers by the pool during the afternoon as the hotel is simply huge and very busy, not as boutique as I expected it to be. we stayed in a few luxury hotels across Thailand but haven’t came across a small beer being priced at thb200 anywhere else… I definitely had higher expectation for the price I paid.

JapanThe service was inconsistent, as was the quality of the food at the restaurants. Given the price point, this should not have happened.
We loved the grounds, the accommodations, and most of the staff were very friendly. The location is excellent.

Saudi Arabiaair conditioning was very bad and not working properly. When I was leaving with a boat that I booked myself they didn’t provide a the small stairs that they provided when I came to the island. Check out also took very long time. The juice they provide upon arrival I didn’t like it. overall the welcoming was not the same as saying good bye to the residents.
the food and restaurant were very good. I like the people in the activity center they were very polite and trying to help arranging activities but the weather conditions were not the best to do snorkeling or diving. So, check that before you come.
