Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe facility is somewhat dated but still more than adequate. I stayed here almost ten years ago when everything was new. Since then, it appears that nothing has been repainted or replaced. There are minor damages in the room from wear and tear over the years, and the wood deck by the pool, as well as the building's paintwork, have deteriorated. This gives an overall less impressive feel. However, during my partner's first visit to the hotel this year, he could tell that the place had seen better days yet was still impressed. The restaurant staff struggle with English proficiency. Given the hotel's hour-long distance from Chiang Mai and the lack of nearby dining options, a more extensive menu would be beneficial. Additionally, the breakfast offered is not particularly tasty. The pools could do with more regular skimming to remove insects and plant material. I would also like to mention that considering the distance from Chiang Mai, and lack of taxis in the area, the hotel's car service could be more reasonably priced.
Tucked away near elephant camps, this resort is a nature lover's dream, nestled in a scenic valley with mountains and a river. The lush greenery on the hotel grounds is beautifully maintained, creating a serene atmosphere. During our stay, we had the whole place to ourselves, which was a nice surprise. The rooms are spacious and cozy, fitting in perfectly with the surrounding nature, and each room has it's own wifi router. One morning, we asked the hotel to arrange for us to visit a nearby ethical elephant camp they recommended, and we had a great time. The pools are huge and have a unique shape that adds to the resort's charm. The reception staff speak English well and were always helpful. Dinners were tasty, served by friendly waiters. Overall, our stay was a relaxing mix of nature and comfort.

ThailandThe variety of breakfast was less than my expectation and Sibsan's Mammoth isn't free to take home as our souvenir.
The room was spacious and located among nature. Also, it's very close to Pang Chang Mae Taeng, you can take the resort's shuttle car to the garden inside the resort near a canal to see the elephant in the morning which provided us a great experience during our stay.

AustraliaThe location of the resort whilst in a very beautiful setting, was a bit far from Chiang Mai City Centre. Nevertheless there are places of interest close by like Wat Ban Den which was easy to get to from Sibsan.
Staff were professional and very accommodating.

PhilippinesThe pool is beautiful, but quite cold. The breakfast is not good. This was strange considering how good the restaurant is at other times of the day.
The property is in a beautiful location, and the green all around is fantastic. The property is also well maintained, and the staff are very friendly.

IsraelThe pool curb stone was loose and could have easily harmed the kids. The location is full of mosquitoes, Phone in the room was not working to communicate with the reception. Restaurant is pricy.
The location of the Hotel and the Rooms are marvelous, Room is located on the river with easy access! That was a huge plus. Room is huge and had a great fit for our family of 2+2. We were staying for 1 night on our way from Chaing Mai to Pai and it suited our needs perfect.

United KingdomVery poor breakfast. A buffet was laid out for very few guests. Food was not fresh or good quality. It would be far better if the hotel offered an a la carte breakfast - much less waste and better quality.
Excellent staff. Beautiful rooms and location (but a long way from the city). Great for exploring the areas outside Chiang Mai. The breakfast really was awful and let the rest of the hotel down.

PanamaI have to be honest the food and waiting staff did not match the overall experience of the rest of the resort. The food was absolutely below standard with both Thai and Foreign options. This needs to be addressed as it let down the complete experience of the resort. Staff to busy playing on their phones to clean tables, and to inform that they had run out of wine also when ordered. Fixing this area of the resort is absolutely necessary as the food was very bad.
The surroundings and nature were absolutely exquisite, and gave you the opportunity to unwind, by riding the bikes, or walking along the creek. JoJo In reception was absolutely amazing, and helped organise transport, he is a real asset to the resort.

MalaysiaThe fitness center is outdated and unusable. Resort doesn’t offer transportation to other nearby attractions. The breakfast options were limited and the coffee needs serious improvement.
Remoteness, peacefulness, and there were hardly any people there. The a la carte menu items were tasty. The staff went above and beyond with any request I had.
