Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI had just got over being poorly so couldn't do too much trecking for long as there's lots of medium testing things to do that require some reasonable fitness.
set in the cliff with surroundings of a two beach beach and step back in time quante walking street that splits the two.Sunset on east beach is miraculous! It's on a jungle hill so there will be bugs (I didn't experience to many problems to be honest) long tail boat accessable only area due to mountains so NO cars NO bikes lol it was so refreshing. you have bat caves,a secret beach (a must)chill out bars ..the lot with out being overpowering.Low season for me meant literally no hassle from vendors and felt at times the whole area was just so calming. No crazy clubs etc at the time. Day trips from here to 4 islands, phi phi island,Kong island (all separate trips)

IsraelIn my first bungalow was a water leak near the toilet. Like I said I highly recommend to take the deluxe bungalow, it’s better facilities
Very relaxed place in amazing nature and jungle around. Good location and great staff. I stayed there 6 nights and I moved in the middle. Recommend about the deluxe bungalow, they have an amazing view in their rooftop. A bit extra money than the most cheap option but great value for money.

United KingdomIt didn’t bother us but the property does have lots of stairs so that may be something to consider!
Room was basic but clean and had everything we required for our stay. Beautiful views of Railay from the restaurant decking and the food was lovely too!

United KingdomNo hot water in the hut so showers were cold. On a hot day I assume this would be absolutely fine. The frogs…nature is lovely but those frogs at night sound like a boat horn.
Property is so quirky and different to any other place we’ve stayed in Thailand.

GermanyThe shower could be replaced or renovated with something more new / clean, as well as the toilets in the reception area. I don't know if it's possible to keep the bugs out, but I had a cockroach & a millipede in my room!
The room was spacious, beautifully tiled bathroom, and lovely grounds on the property. The views from the restaurant / chill area are very nice too.

BrazilThe bathroom was not too clean.
It is situated in East Railay, close to the pier, and is generally very easy to navigate around the beach. There is a small, nice pool where you can relax at the end of the day. Please note that you will need to climb stairs to access the hotel, but the view is very nice. Also, they do not serve breakfast.

United Kingdom- the wifi was not great. Couldn’t make phone calls or watch videos. Just went on and off regularly and just not strong - we asked for coffee for the next day to save them cleaning our room, was forgotten but not the end of the world - there were slats in the bathroom so could hear noise from another room one night. Those staying just need to considerate of others - the pool was just too small and it made our skin feel funny. Didn’t smell of chlorine, just something I’ve not experienced before - steps might be an issue for some
- nice quiet area, not far at all though from the main part - member of staff on reception was so lovely. Could not fault her - room was lovely, so spacious, AC working, big bathroom - nice space above the room where you could chill and read. Even though you sort of shared it with others, people were respectful of each other - had a bit of a view up there - food was nice to have up there with a lovely view, fairly cheap for the area - good communication online with staff

MalaysiaYou need to climb some stairs up to the hotel, which can be very tiring after a whole day of fun at the beach, but they have a pulley to take your luggage up. Just deposit it downstairs and they have a porter to carry your luggage to your room.
The accommodation are bungalows or individual private suites with a nice shower area and we stayed at one with beach chairs to see the view of the mountain behind. Some have hammocks. Had a swim in the pool as well. The place is nice and clean, with everything you need. It is convenient to walk to all the places as Railay is very small.

United KingdomThe steps up were quite long however most of the cheaper hotels in the area had similar stairs and there was a luggage track that could carry your big bags up so not a big issue.
Lovely helpful staff, nice breakfast available, air con worked well, really accommodating when we asked to book another night with them, lovely well equipped bungalows

BulgariaThe major thing you need to consider is the noise. Not that the place itself is noisy but the walls are very thin, you can literally hear everything from your neighbors. Also, there are some stairs to climb, we didn’t mind them but after having to come home 2-3 times a day (due to the heat) it was getting a bit annoying. In addition, there is almost no natural sunlight and the WiFi is very unreliable. All and all it’s a nice place to stay with nice stuff, good value for the money.
We stayed at a superior bungalow for 6 nights. It was a pleasant stay. There is lots of space and place to arrange your stuff which is nice. The bed is very comfortable. The air conditioning was working, though it’s very bad that it’s positioned just above your head.
