Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomEverything was perfect
I stayed in a 2 bed bungalow which was right on the beach. The facilities were excellent and everywhere was very clean. They have a fantastic pool area and restaurant. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly .There’s a 7/11 and taxi rank across the road. 3 mins takes you to the town of Lamai and 10 mins to Chaweng. Would highly recommend.

United KingdomMaybe just more hooks to hang towels and clothes. But other than that it’s generally a great place to stay. Not a negative at all.
Great hospitality from the staff team. Despite the good value cost of the rooms. Although a 3 star rated resort. The service is certainly on par with more premium establishments. You can have food and drink ordered to the poolside. And they do a happy hour on one selected cocktail from 5pm every day at 100 bht. About £2.20 per cocktail which is near impossible in London and with fresh island fruit! I would like to add the Pearl Lounge offers great value food and drink in an AC or semi outdoor environment which is good in hot humid weather. Especially in Lamai Beach area where AC cool rooms in restaurants are very rare. Unlike other nearby bars or restaurants. The prices are good and the cocktails are well made. Even Outrigger 5 star resort next door I don’t think can compete. The hotel owner is environmentally conscious and we like the fact they minimize plastic using metal or ceramic straws. There is a games and book library in the Pearl Lounge which makes it family friendly. Poolside. As it’s only 15 villa rooms. There’s plenty of sun loungers and space in the pool. No need to rush at all for a lounger. Some good views out to the sea. There’s a 7 Eleven opposite the resort for any extra holiday or convenience supplies. And taxis are easy to get or Songthaews.

IrelandThere is nothing to dislike about Pearl of Samui
Pearl of Samui is a little oasis right beside the beach. The staff are exceptional with each member totally attentive to the visitor's needs. Beautiful pool. Dining is good.. The stand out for us is the very comfortable bed. A rare thing in Thailand.

United KingdomRooms were quite small but it didn’t bother us.
A lovely peaceful little resort! Staff are so friendly, especially the lovely lady on reception. Pool area is clean and has a lovely sea view. Rooms are modern and clean, including a private little garden. Beachfront location and 15 min walk into central Lamai. The whole resort is fresh and beautiful, wish we could have stayed longer than 4 nights.

United Kingdomthe room we had wasn't very big so we struggled to find places to put everything, especially as we'd been travelling so had quite a bit of luggage etc with us. The local beach sometimes had a load of washed up plastic and other rubbish on it but this was cleared periodically and I believe it's a problem everywhere in Thailand.
breakfast was good. the local neighbourhood was fine - it was quieter than the more touristy areas which appealed to us. we walked along the beach to a couple of local restaurants and a bit further to the night markets where they had great food and some interesting souvenir stalls.

AustraliaIt’s a short bike ride into the hub, but the resort is close enough to everything.
Absolutely perfect stay. Clean, stunning view, friendly and attentive staff, and large well equipped rooms. Would recommend the villa next to the pool with a semi private sundeck. Good location, right across the road from the 7/11 and two excellent local restaurants.

GermanyI did not use my bungalow‘s backside terrace because it was not cozy & neighbour’s (other property) AC was too loud. Nice idea, but not very usable. Anyway, I would still give 10/10 without this terrace 😉 there was a table & two chairs in front of the bungalow, this place was way better. Right in front of the resort, boats get repaired on the beach. It was no problem for me. Just don‘t expect the perfect sea view.
The area is nice. Next to a bigger street but still quite for Lamai Beach. Walk 10 minutes to Lamai Road where you will find bars etc. You have some nice restaurants right next to the Resort, too. The Mexican Restaurant is incredible. The bungalows are small & clean, I had everything I needed 😊 Outside area around the pool is awesome, I loved it. Walked down the beach in both ways and beside some 5* Hotel I saw no place where I‘d rather have stayed.

United KingdomThe views from our villa were spoilt by an overgrown bush which although offered privacy stopped us having the beach view we expected from the photos. The room was quite small with not much storage which is probably OK if you're not staying long. The mini bar was ridiculously full and we had to put everything on a high shelf just so we could put our things in the tiny fridge. I'm not sure how often the sheets were changed but we were there 3 weeks and spilt something which remained for at least 5 days.
The hotel was very peaceful, plenty of sunbeds and good pool access. The staff were very nice. The location is good and it's easy to get a taxi for around 100baht to the centre. There are some local restaurants close and the 7-11 opposite was very useful. There is also an outside gym off the beach which is free (you just leave a tip) which we loved. We would recommend the villas.
