Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRestaurants close early -Quite expensive but that's understandable as its one of the most famous islands in Thailand I recommend bringing your own alcohol - the island does not have a wide range of wine/alcoholic drinks if you want a relaxing evening on your balcony I strongly recommend buying wine/drinks from the mainland to bring with you. French market sells a fantastic range of wines.
Pros Beautiful location you own the island for a night No tourist Stunning sunset Fell in love with the island Great food! Love the grilled chicken Stunning beach Koh Nang yuan viewpoint is a must - especially at sunset

FinlandSynchronising timetables both ways is something to work on. Why such long waitings for connecting boats and buses? The three little islands are a unique place. It's fragile nature above and below sea surface should be protected even more than now. I doubt whether the place will survive all those herds of daytime visitors for long. Of course, the place can't be run without numerous customers' financial input, but if there is nothing left of the beautiful nature, who wants to go there? The buildings and especially the wooden pathways look like they need enhancement. The iron supporting framework looked pretty rusty.
The breakfast was good considering the location, meaning all the goods have to be brought by boat to the island. All the fruit shakes were good. Dinner menu understandably consisted mainly of seafood. There was little choice if you don't like fish and shellfish.

IndiaBathroom showers are bad big time. Food options and the taste is not great, only manageable for a day or so.
The highlight of this place is solely the location. This is a very beautiful and peaceful island. I highly recommend it for ppl looking to enjoy nature and calmness.

IsraelThe place is isolated, for better and for worse. There's only one restaurant which is not really good and got closed at 19:30. I think it's something basic that the resort should provide free ferries during the day and evening. Even for a nominal fee in the evening hours, but something that will give you the option to eat outside. The place is not maintained, and the deck is in a bad condition. Water is expensive and you can it only from the restaurant (except for the few bottles we got in the morning).
Great location, one of the most beautiful places we've seen! The staff was friendly The beach is beautiful and the water are crystal clear.

AustraliaWould recommend taking snack food and water as there is only one restaurant on the island and it was a bit expensive! Other wise everything was great :)
The room was great with amazing view of the island! Big room and bathroom and all clean. Great size balcony to sit and enjoy the view! Very quiet on the island at the moment which was deally mice for us. Amazing snorkelling and if you’re up early in the morning there are lots of baby black tip sharks swimming around the shore!

ItalyEverything was amazing. A dream come true! Despite the fact from 10 am to 2 pm the island is invaded by tourist before 10am or after 2 pm Koh Nangyuan is all yours.
If paradise existed, it would surely be here. The resort fullfilled all my expectations. The staff was super nice and available, especially Mrs. PIM. A place to relax and admire nature to the fullest. The beaches are fantastic. Ideal for diving or snorkeling and specially to do nothing. Can't wait to come back. Admire the sunset at the view point is a must.

United KingdomTourist/divers Trap. There is no dive centre on the island, do not go here expecting one. Pricing is ridiculous even compared to Europe, the food is not good and the island tries to charge for everything they can, ie ice in your glass 10b, shuttle service to koh Tao 400b (was told it was free). No sewerage treatment so the waste of 10k+ people per week is going directly where you're swimming/diving enjoy 🤢. The rooms don't hold a constant electricity supply. They are only dusted opposed to cleaned, our mugs were just wiped around which now makes me wonder if they were cleaned properly before we arrived. I doubt it. Oh and don't forget to take cash to pay for food as seemingly the food stall(restaurant 🤣) is not part of the island, as an example of how overpriced 300ml mango shake 120b this is the most expensive shake i have had in Thailand.
Location is stunning

Canadathere is no wifi nor TV in the room, it was hard to climb up and down from the room to restaurant or property office because the steps from beach to the room are very steep and harsh. a lot of such section of steeper step are even without handrail that you can hold. food in restaurant at property was very poor and expensive(eg one piece of banana cost 50THB, a coconut cost 120 THB)which is at least 20-30% higher than that in any restaurant in Koh Tao. the room is very old at least for 20-25 years old without any innovation or upgrade, no chairs no table in the room, no clothes holders, even you have no place to put the used towels somewhere in the room. the money paid for staying in this property is NOT worthy at all. Any traveller who wants to visit Nangyuan island should avoid staying over night at this property but instead to consider have a one day trip to this island if necessary while staying over at Koh Tao because when you arrive at this Nangyuan dive resort you will be insulated and cut off in your room like a prisoner on a hopeless island.
pick up service at Koh Tao main pier and daily room service.

United Kingdomthe restaurant and the people that works there. I am sorry to say this because I really try to adapt and to be respectful when I travel. In this place you don’t have quality, you pay prices (not super high for europeans/americans) that just don’t makes sense to what you are getting. I will explain myself better, unfortunately there is only one restaurant in the island, so, if you stay there you are obliged to have breakfast, lunch and dinner there. ok, quality is very bad and prices don’t make sense. Ok is touristy island but you need to give something to who decides to stay at the hotel. The menu is literally fake, they sell you what they want and is not fresh. I rather have 2 options in the menu that are well cooked and good rather than have a menu with 20 and pages where I ask for something and they bring you another thing (less expansive) and they want you to pay for the more expensive one. (the waitress was trying to be nice, but the old lady behind the counter was the meanest) I don’t recommend it, in Thailand you can better (meaning nicer people and better service) this hotel is only good for the location and the peace at night
the location is 10/10 even if the weather wasn’t good the peace you have during the hours when tourists aren’t there is undeniable

BelgiumOnce you get on the island it is very hard to get off and on again. There are 2 boats per day to koh tao and if you miss that, you need to arrange a taxi boat yourself. In the evening this means persuading a taxi boat to drive you back in the dark and paying a super high price. They are not used doing this. When this happened our first night, we called the hotel for help but they did not help us at all, their answer was that we should spent the night in koh tao and come back in the morning... The bed sheets were very dirty, we had to ask to change them when we arrived. There is nothing to do on the island besides the view: in the evening no bar or shop or anything. Lastly when we asked to do a discovery dive, they could not accomodate and told us to come back next month.
The view is amazing and you can beat the crowds in the morning
