Everything about Layana was exceptional from the accommodations, grounds, beach, amenities, food, drinks…but the staff, WOW! Every detail was considered. We are still dreaming about our week there.

Quite a few mosquitoes, but the resort gave us repellant and incense in the room, which helped a lot.

The room and facilities are great, as expected of a 5 star hotel. But, the best part of Layana is the friendly staff who are always smiling and greeting you anywhere you go in the resort. The breakfast buffet is also amazing with lots of variety. One of the best places we stayed in Thailand.

Beautiful property and located beside a lovely beach - lovely pool, beautiful tropical architecture. Best part of our stay was the staff - the manager Franck greeted us personally and was always around talking to guests, the front desk manager Tour was so helpful with suggestions. We had a late flight and they wrote us a personal letter telling us about the arrangements for facilities and transport - so well organized and thoughtful. All staff were so welcoming and friendly.

There is a lot of building worn on site currently, renovating properties. Whilst this does not bother me and we understand it needs to be done, it did cause a lot of noise. We would have liked to have been warned about this before our stay but understand that building work has to happen.

Everything about this hotel is incredible! The staff go out of their way to make it a memorable experience and by the end of the stay, they felt like friends. The location is incredible, incredible service at all times and reasonably priced. The little touches make this hotel really special (I won’t say as it’s a nice surprise for others). The breakfast was by far one of the best buffet breakfasts we have ever had in Asia. We cannot wait to come back to Layana for another stay in the future.

We went in the off season but more entertainment would be beneficial.

The staff were friendly and professional. They all took pride in the hotel and grounds. Even Frank (The Manager) went to pick up rubbish from the sea. The restaurant food was of a good quality. Su and the other members of the restaurant team made our stay feel amazing. The evening entertainment was great.

This has to be the most beautiful property I have stayed at. We stayed in ocean villa 2, and it was the perfect 10m walk from both the beachfront and the pool. The food at the restaurant and breakfast buffet was superb, and the staff were very very welcoming and incredible. Thank you for everything, we can’t wait to visit again soon.

A stunning location! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We took part in some of their activities like the yoga and ice bath and it was great. They also have a weekly schedule of events to take part in which we didn’t know about prior to arriving and had booked our own things but would definitely do their activities if we get to go back. The sunsets are incredible and the food in the restaurant is top notch, a lot to choose from for breakfast. The manager also came to say goodbye to us as well which we thought was a wonderful touch to our stay. Highly recommend the spa as well, ask if they have any promos on too even tho they are well priced as they are. There are also a couple of nice family restaurants just outside on the road if you want a change. Honestly highly recommend staying here and just being on koh lanta what a place!!

The customer service is outstanding and the breakfast is plentiful and fresh. Eating facing the sea is an amazing experience. The staff even hosted extra activities when there was a rainy day (Thai cooking class, boxing, cocktail class and evening canapes and drinks for the guests which was a great way to meet everyone). Simply the best hotel we have ever stayed at.

Our stay here was incredibly tranquil and very enjoyable! We were blown away by the welcome and standard of service we received throughout our stay. The facilities are fantastic and the beach in your doorstep is a huge bonus! The food is delicious, breakfast has a fantastic variety of foods and everything at the hotel is reasonably priced. A must stay if you’re looking for a relaxing, rejuvenating break, I couldn’t recommend Layana enough!

They will be better in communicating the conditions for Free Airport Shuttle: we booked a Package that said “free airport shuttle”, but that means only on specific times. Otherwise you can to book a private transfer, which was arranged very well :-)

Super friendly people, full attention, great massages, beautiful pools and beach. Great trip through the jungle to the waterfall with GM Franck.

As I wrote above, the only thing I can criticise is that I was out of season which brings challenges with what we humans do to our oceans. Which is not really in the control of the hotel. They tried their best every day to clean up and I was assured once the rainy season is over, the beach changes back to paradise. And when they say it, I would tend to believe them. I’ll be sure to go back and check it out.

First and foremost - the staff. They were exceptional. The way they handled my complaint was the best I have seen. (I won’t say what the complaint was, because I don’t want to set an example). The hotel wasn’t crazy busy - very much off season - but also not empty. After one day they remembered my name, my room number, my preferences, what I like to have for breakfast, etc. Fried hash browns for me if there wheren’t any on the buffet. A true five star experience without any 5 star attitude. My room was very nice and super clean. Food in the restaurant was of great quality and good value. So A+ for property and service. A real credit to Franck, the GM, who runs this with a very personal touch. Despite lots of rain and some pollution in the ocean, I enjoyed trundling around, sitting by the pool and having an ice cold beer or two at a very reasonable price.

I can't think of anything. Nothing went wrong in the slightest. We wondered whether there couldn't be a shop selling local crafts or quality souvenirs as we only saw one shop on the whole island that wasn't selling very familiar tourist trinkets. That one shop was a designer jewellery/clothes shop in Samadan. Perhaps the hotel could invite her and other locals to sell better quality products in a small hotel shop?

Given it was the end of the season, and many adjacent hotels seemed either closed or very quiet, it was amazing how the Layana stayed fully open and attentive. Excellent, consistent service with so many lovely small details. The room was immaculate, meals were great, the poolside service exceptional (free water kept coming, additional free treats, smiles everywhere), all very professional. We didn't go on any of the available tours or excursions, but the beach is kept tidy by locals and it is lovely.

An amazing hotel in an excellent location, the beach was amazing with golden sand and clean crystal clear water, the rooms are clean and large, the bed is comfortable and the pillows are excellent, the breakfasts and dinners are excellent, the pools and beaches are amazing, the service throughout the hotel is excellent, we had the best massage in Thailand at the hotel spa.

What can I say, I booked this hotel as a quick stopover to KO lipe and I left wishing we had booked longer. Such a beautiful hotel, amazing pools, amazing facilities, food location. Staff so very nice. I will 100% return to this hotel in the near future.

Layana - a huge thank you again, genuinely one of the best stays we have ever had. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful (particularly when we arrived with slightly upset bellies!), the pools were beautiful, and the location on the beach provided stunning views ideal for a few sundowners at sunset. Highly recommend the island tour excursion - while relatively expensive, it was the highlight of our trip and was worth every baht to spend the day snorkling amongst the coral followed by lunch on a white sand beach. Thanks again!

Very clean resort with beautiful swimming pools! The breakfast had different variety of fresh fruits and room service restaurant's food was delicious. I loved the fact that you can rent bikes daily since it's not very easy to get around the island if you don't know how to ride motorbike( even though there are some tuk-tuks available next to the resort ). Also it was very convenient the complimentary van ride until Krabi Airport, and with a little extra fee they took us until Ao Nang.
