IrelandThe stairs up are very small and steep, very hard to climb up with bags (especially when it's raining, very dangerous from the fallen leaves). Air conditioning turned off turning the day :( Bed was covered in sand/dirt when I arrived so I don't think the sheets had been changed :(

CanadaHard to contact the staff if you're not at the hostel or during the night. Our AC was turned off during the night and nobody could answer us (was so warm in the dorm).
Very nice social hostel with an amazing view (worth it the stairs workout aha) and nice chilling spots. Staff super kind and give recommendations. Lots of social activities (everyday) like quiz, pub crawl or buffet. Clean and confortable but no curtains.

New ZealandIt is a cheap party hostel, so you get what you pay for. There aren’t any curtains on the beds in the shared dorms, the rooms are pretty dark and dingy. The bed linen is one sheet and one duvet. The bathroom was pretty gross. Both the sinks leaked so the floor was constantly wet and the bench was too. The toilet always smelt like sewer. And there was no where to hang toiletry bags / towels anywhere. There was one toilet for 10 people.
We enjoyed our stay at Blanco hostel. The hostel has an awesome vibe, the staff are from all over the world and do a great job at hyping people up for the many party’s that take place there. The pool area is great, with a bar and restaurant next to it and views over east Railay, it creates an awesome atmosphere.

United KingdomThey advertise a lift for luggage as there’s 80+ steep metal stairs, however, it’s completely overgrown and looks to have not been in use for months. The reps made several comments about our one night stay and how we must extend yet when we went to extend we were told the hostel was completely full and they placed us in the hostel downstairs which had no aircon, WiFi or lights leading to our room. The pool was full of bugs and dirt, our shower had fresh cement in it and leaked water even when it was not in use. They also advertised laundry services but again we were unable to do any as their laundry lady was on holiday, they recommended somewhere down the road instead for us instead however, they also refused us. Overall not our best hostel stay, wouldn’t rush back.

FranceI didn't like that the staff was knocking heavily on the door like crazy everyday at the dorm to know if we want to participate to the events. Just an announce in the whatsapp group would be enough. I saw the way the cleaning staff "cleans" the bedsheets and I can tell you they don't wash the duvet. Instead they spray some horrible perfumed product for you not to smell it was already used. Then the room smells heavily with the product. This kind of thing should be illegal it's full of endocrine disruptor, that's perfect for lungs also...if you don't believe me smell your duvet 🤡
