Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe organisation and hotel itself is inefficient, not truly friendly and weird. It feels like a ghost hotel. The cleaning was not really up to our standards.
The room is big and spacious. It has a cute swimming pool.

Malaysia1. Our 2 rooms were located on the far end 3rd floor of the building... no lifts & no bell service.... so you have to walk all the way from carpark to the room on your own 2. Room A315 & A316 - each time you step on the wooden flooring produce loud racket sound & quite disturbing as if you are staying in a bamboo build resort 3. Aircond not so great & small ceiling fan is wobbling which cannot be off (did not found the switch) 4. Matress is quite hard with out of shape pillow & provided with worn out bath towels 5. The entire resort totaly needs a major upkeep & refurbishment work
1. Location - beach front by crossing main road - near Ao Nang Landmark night market - quite, less traffic & hassle 2. Beautiful Thai concept building structure & decoration 3. Book early to get a cheaper rate or else not worth staying here...

SlovakiaWiFi was really weak in the room, we were using the data. Breakfast didn’t meet our expectations
The beach at Ao Nang is not really good , is the one the closest to the accommodation (literally in front of the hotel) I’m not recommending. You need to take a boat to get to the Railay Beach (the closest one which looks better ) And to get to the boat you need to walk around 30 min to the town (centrum with shops and good food :) ) but we were okay to walk there. Street food is amazing People are great too very kind :)

Australia500 decibel doof music at night from street aimed at the resort. Being told we had to pay almost 1 nights accommodation for a 2 hour late checkout as ferry bus collecting us at 2pm. So standing in heat for what ended up hours waiting wasn't fun. I went back to the room twice and used the toilet. It wasn't booked. Staff could have chosen to be gracious in this respect.
Location near Ao Nang night food market.

SpainWasn’t so clean, the staff was not really helpful, is a beautiful hotel but needs refreshment, basically if you read the bad reviews and your expectations are low you will surprise for good.
The swimming pool and the peace you have, easy to forget you are in the most tourist place in Thailand. Bartolomeus-James 3 welcoming you at the door was also one of the best things.

AustraliaIf you book a room with breakfast make sure you have proof, as they questioned my booking. Pool and room were clean. Tables in dining room not clean. When built this hotel would have been amazing, the architecture and quality of reception, dining room etc tells of past glory. However, unfortunately the quality has not been maintained, the garden is unkempt (full of weeds and dead plants), there are unused venues used to store motley collections.
We chose this place for its location which was fantastic, short walk to the beach. Room large with lots of space. Pool was great.

United StatesThe Wi-Fi doesn’t work. It clearly states in the description that there is Wi-Fi, but when I arrived they told me the Wi-Fi doesn’t work in the rooms. Most of the facilities are completely out of date and need a refresh or at least maintenance. The staff was largely unhelpful… I asked to have a taxi called to the hotel and they simply said no… I couldn’t understand why,’it was the middle of the day and they had tons of signs about taxis.
This was clearly a very special place to stay when it was first constructed, though it seems to have not been well maintained over the years.

BangladeshDidn't like check in. No bellboy to help with bags. Breakfast was awful a real joke. Hotel could be lovely a 5 star but now it is run down, not enough staff and done on the cheap. It is a shame as it is an old temple with a fabulous location etc one pool should be adult only a quiet pool as well.
We loved the location and the room upgrade to a suite. The room was a good size and the balcony very lovely. Good it had 2 pools as well.

CanadaSuper neat hotel that is modeled after a temple. It seemed very large, but very empty. It has a large, well-maintained pool, but nobody was using it. The pool bar was never opened. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The hotel gives off the vibe that it was once a very busy and vibrant place to stay, but has not been used as much these days.

United StatesA bit run down as it looks like the neighboring resort has taken over and thus both resorts are look the way they do.
An older resort located a few minute walk from the main road on the beach. It is located on the far end of Ao Nang, but close to the best night food market in the area. Its quite easy to get around either by foot, tuktuk or boat. Rooms were clean, nothing fancy, very basic. We stayed an extra night.

FranceThe decoration was old. The laundry a little expensive (250 baht). Far from Ao Nang beach.
The direct access to the pool was amazing. The room was big. The cleaning ladies passed everyday to clean and give you fresh towels and water. There is a laundry in the hôtel. 10 minutes walk from the landmark.
