Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaFrom the very start, Georges and the lovely team at Koyao Bay Pavilions were super helpful and amazing hosts. This resort is a hidden gem! The facilities are well maintained, the villas are gorgeous and very secluded and the beach is just metres away. The restaurant has a fantastic menu of Thai and French influenced dishes and the staff are friendly and professional. There are a variety of activities that can be easily organised through the resort. We chose to do a day sailing the islands in a long tail boat and with just 3 of us, it was perfect as we could choose our itinerary. Other boats we saw had up to 20 people or more. We highly recommend Koyao Bay Pavilions if you are looking for a beautiful private, peaceful and serene location.

United StatesThere's not much within walking distance of the property other than the beach, but bikes/taxis are easily arranged by the staff.
The very private two-bedroom Villa Ingfah with our own pool was heavenly. Great internet connection for video meetings for remote work. Dinner at the on-site restaurant was excellent. Ryan arranged rental bikes for us which were dropped off right at our villa. We had fun biking around the small island, eating at places Ryan recommended — all great. Nice private beach a short walk from the villa; gentle waves, sandy bottom. The resort island is accessible via a scenic 30-minute speedboat trip from the east side of Phuket, and then a short taxi ride.

RomaniaEverything. We stayed in Mai Pai Cottage, which was absolutely perfect - spotless clean, comfortable, luxurious, with a private pavilion and a great pool (for two villas, but feels as a private one). Food is simply delicious and hosts are amazing. It exceeded our expectations and we would definitely go back again. Thanks a lot George, Bee & Ryan, we had a perfect time.

We loved Ko Yao Noi island and our stay at Kayao Bay Pavillions. The setting of our accomodation was superb set in natural surroundings and close to nature. Our villa was luxurious, comfortable, spacious, extremley clean and well maintained. The villa was equiped with everything we needed and more ! The location of the private pool was a highlight. The menu in the restaurant was extensive offering Thai, European and Street Food the best food we had in our entire stay in Thailand. The management team of George, Bee, and Ryan were amazing hosts and made us feel very welcome. They were always avaliable to help and advise but never intrusive. All the staff, cleaners, grounds staff were friendly, polite and helpful. We would like to give a special mention to the waitresses who were exceptional and to the chefs who provided delicious meals throughout our stay.

GermanyWe thought the breakfast options were very limited considering the price (booking included breakfast). The whole breakfast menu was this: There was one juice - orange Coffee with ( cow milk only) Fruit plate (very tasty) Home made toast (the toast was great) Eggs scrambled, fried or omelette Thai soup French toast
The accommodation was beautiful and the service was very friendly and competent. We particularly liked that there was no children in the beach villa areas. The restaurant was also fantastic and we had several excellent dinners there.

United StatesThe beach by the Pavilions was a little disappointing, in that is was small and not that attractive. Swimming was only possible at high tide periods (with a monthly listing of the tides provided in the room guide) due to coral and rocks. The water was also somewhat murky, so snorkeling was out. We would recommend renting a scooter so that you could easily visit some of the other beaches that were rather nice and fairly empty (when we were there in early March).
The Pavilions are about a 10 minute walk from the main road, so we took most of our meals (except for Wednesday, when only breakfast was available) on-site. The food was very good. We took the breakfast option, and had a choice of continental or Thai, each one had two or three options. Lunch and Dinner menus did not change, but there were lots of choices so we wouldn't get bored. There were some options that needed to be ordered in advance (special prawns and fish), but we didn't try those. We can't say enough good things about the staff. George and his wife Bee, were extremely gracious hosts, and Ryan (the GM) was on-hand when we arrived to show us around. He was just superb in arranging transportation, mountain bikes, and having kayaks ready for paddling to a nearby island or beaches up or down the coast. We had cocktails regularly and they were quite good. We had fun talking with Khun Bee about wine and her choices were spot-on. We stayed in the Beach Suites (adults only - as the pool is deep and without a lifeguard) that were huge. There is a separate outdoor lounge pavilion with sitting areas, hammocks, coffee and tea, and a desk area, with a ceiling fan and floor fans. The bedroom area is huge, ample closet area, and an outdoor shower and dual sinks. The two floor fans were enough to keep us comfortable at night (no AC).

We loved everything : beach, suite, restaurant, team. I cannot recommend enough to stay at Koh Yao Pavillions. The location is great, the warm welcome from Georges and Ryan has been much appreciated, and the kindness of the restaurant team is so inspiring. Koh Yao island is nothing more than everything we love : remote, quiet but still with lively places here and there, untouched in some parts. We lived the dream for the 7 days we stayed over there. Special mention for the quality of the restaurant. Best food we've eaten in Koh Yao Noi.

United KingdomThere’s not much to not like! I can’t think of anything
The villa we stayed in was utterly beautiful, the beds were so comfortable and the private pool was used constantly by our children and ourselves, the restaurant area had a lovely warm and cozy feel to it and was very welcoming, the beach that the property led onto was deserted most days and was so much fun to watch all the crabs run across it. The water was lovely and we had the best 5 days

The beach villa that we booked was nothing short of amazing. Attention to detail and cleanliness was impeccable. The location of this resort was literally a stones throw away from the beach. Staff are friendly and most importantly our hosts George, Bee and Liverpool were always there to see that our needs and comfort were always met. While there my wife fell ill. Bee took such good care of her thank you. This stay was a real treat as I was surpring my wife for our anniversary. Can't wait to return to this beautiful place again someday.

SwitzerlandSometimes a bit too close to nature, with animals finding their ways to our bathroom. No AC in rooms, so you have to rely on the fans provided. The family villa is a bit far from the beach. Very few hooks to hang towels in bathrooms.
Awesome place next to the beach - feels like you are in the middle of nature just with very close food and super super helpful staff. The food in the restaurant was really really good. Free kayak to explore the sea and nearby island. Amazing surroundings. Very big rooms.

Beautifully designed and equipped mini villas in a stunning location, with a fantastic on site restaurant made sure our stay was incredibly relaxing. No request was too much to ask, instead it was arranged in a heartbeat. If only all hotels could be this effortlessly efficient, warm and welcoming. All the best bits of a luxury resort but personable because it’s run personally and not part of a chain.
