Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaI didn’t like the 145 stairs going up and down.

AustraliaAll the cabins have views but some of the cabins have better views than others. Fortunately, we arrived when there were some similar empty cabins and could be moved to one with a better sea view. Many people wrote about the stairs, but we're in our 60s and had no problem.
The staff were helpful and friendly. Extras such as a cold towel and drink on arrival were appreciated. The boat transfer to the resort from the pier was as described. Even the 145 stairs were ok because we needed some exercise. Breakfast was quite good. For the money and the view, I thought it was good value. We took the 3 hour boat trip and thoroughly enjoyed it, but the coral was not healthy. Swimming at the Phi Phi Village beach was my favourite part of the boat trip.

United KingdomRooms quite basic for the price.
Staff were lovely, amazing view (with lots of stairs to walk to room so make sure you don’t mind that!). Great spot at end of long beach- taxis available to town regularly too! Breakfast lovely!

MalaysiaNone. I love everything here!
I recently stayed at HIP Seaview Resort Phi Phi Island for my honeymoon and had a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the friendly staff with refresher drinks and cold towels, which was a delightful touch. I didn't mind the stairs leading up to the main lobby and room – a little exercise is always good! The beach nearby is beautiful, and the view is simply splendid. One of the highlights of our stay was when all the resort's cats came to our room; we had a lot of fun playing with them. The flowers around the resort added to the beautiful scenery, making our stay even more enjoyable. And I have to mention, the breakfast is absolutely delicious! I'll definitely come again!

United KingdomTaxi boats are required to get to and from the main town of Phi Phi. However, these run regularly and are complimentary on checkin and departure. We had been unaware of the steep steps that are required to be climbed to access the accommodation, which sits above the other resorts along the beach in the area.
A stunning location with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The room provided privacy with an outstanding view of the ocean with large balcony area to relax. Lovely breakfast and access to bars, restaurants and shops within walking distance along the beach.

AustraliaIt was too far from the main town with it being a 45 min walk through the jungle or a boat to get there. As there was low tide it wasn’t certain we’d get back via boat.
The staff were great and the view from our room was beautiful!

IrelandThe steps to to it are a lot. I left every mornings and was prepared not to go back until evening. They are brutal
Amazing views. Good breakfast. Free pick up and drop off from the pier at check in and check out. I was there low season so it’s super quiet around there. If you want more life, stay closer to the town

AustraliaOld rooms , not really matching the pictures, a bit of noise at night.
Nice place on a hill with a view of the beach and sea. A bit old compared to the photos and sometimes noisy at late night you can hear loud music. Not bad but probably you can find better out there. Super friendly and nice staff

IrelandLocation is the #1 downside of this hotel. It is down at the furthest end of long beach and it requires either a taxi boat or a long walk via the beach to access. Also be prepared to climb a huge amount of stairs to access this hotel, essentially a small hike every time you want to get up to your room. Not really the hotels fault directly but the local restaurant options are really bad, some of the worst food I've ever been served. Local places close very early also so you need to be comfortable with taking taxi boats at night if you want some life past 9pm

IndiaTo reach hotel you need to climb long stairs. Post 8 pm nothing is available to eat in the hotel or nearby. Breakfast is also very limited and you cannot take whatever you want. You can have only what they serve. Travelling to main market in evening is very difficult if you do not have personal vehicle. Everywhere in the room fines are mentioned. Feels like you are in school.

Turkey1. It was far away from the center of island but they haven’t any transportation service for the customers. It could be perfect if they have such a service for every 2 or 3 hours. We always had to use taxi boat (go and return) which is not cheap. 2. Stairs.. It is so hard to climb every time.. For this reason, the hotel is not proper for the disabled, elderly people.
The room was so comfortable, clean and had a sea view. Air conditioning worked very well. The breakfast was good. The staff is helpful.

Czech RepublicThere is over 150 steps to hotel, but it’s okay if you are healthy and fit.
I liked staff, they were very kind (unlike at another hotel in PhiPhi they were very cold to us). Clean rooms, everyday made up the bed, filed water, tookout rubbish bin. They serve breakfast-you choose from the list (omelette, scrambled eggs, yoghurt, muesli, pancake). There is an amazing view. They arrange a longtail boat from and to ferry at check in and check out for free.

IrelandThere isn’t really much of a restaurant. It is closed for lunch and pretty empty around dinner time.
It was really lovely. Pretty basic as expected for the price. Initially we were put in a bungalow with no view which was disappointing as we had booked the partial sea view room. We asked the staff to switch and they offered us one with a stunning view. Overall pretty happy with the experience.

United KingdomRoom was basic with poor finishing and a few broken things here and there. Cleaning not great- especially veranda. Just basic things. The stairs mean that you won't want to be going backwards and forwards to your room all day, so once we got down the steps in the morning we didn't go up until end of the day!
The location is amazing! The stairs are tough in the hot weather but worth it for the view. Arriving at Tonsai Pier is a busy and chaotic and I am not a fan of that area, so the hotel is a wonderful respite from this if you are looking to relax and not party. Sea at bottom of steps is amazing for snorkelling with lovely white sand beach. No sunbeds which would be nice, but you can hire from hotel next door or sit on chairs at beach bar . Room was comfortable with good bed and aircon, Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was limited but nice, with lovely fruit, omelette, croissants etc and really good coffee Beach Hotel next door has good restaurant for dinner and happy hour cocktails. Chilled out vibe.
