Lady is very nice and helpful The location is great, there’s a cafe right in front on the other side of the road. Can rent motorbike and book your next transport. Bed is comfortable and with curtains, room also has its own toilet. The owner own a cafe on the same road, where you can get a discount if you say you come from their hostel

Only one of the two showers had soap provided but it wasn’t a big deal.

Bathrooms and showers were clean and functional, the shower head had good pressure. The staffs are super friendly.

A really good hostel. It is pretty small with only 2 dorms and super friendly staff. The beds were the biggest and comfiest I laid on on my travels till now , even with a little shelf to put your stuff on. It was also pretty clean too.

This situation is not bad but without a scooter I felt a little bit trapped in the area and the big road along koh lanta shore is not enjoyable to walk at all. I didn’t see other areas more suited to go around by foot so I wouldn’t hold it against the hostel, it’s probably the configuration of the island. Still enjoyed the location with the beach very near.

There is a lot to like here ! The vibe of the place is really friendly, relaxed and meeting other travelers is very easy. The beds are really comfortable, good privacy with the curtains , the shelf and hangers in the bed are very useful. Atom (the owner) is amazing ! She is kind, helpful and she makes you feel welcome. Obviously the real manager is fatty the cat, always somewhere around and down for some cuddles. This place feel a little bit like home. Walkable distance from Long Beach, good restaurants around (mama dang kitchen is really good) and also not far from atom’s other business « together coffee ». The coffee is really good , the breakfast amazing and you get a discount so definitely give it a try.

Couple of things could be fixed or improved huh the owner is doing what she can when she can afford to so it’s just a nice experience to stay somewhere so naturally local.

This is my favourite hostel so far. The staff and owner are the kindest people and happy to chat or help you book trips or transport. I met loads of great people there and had some of the best nights sleep! Free water each day, nice little reception / common area, near to loads of restaurants and beaches. Really nice, relaxing few days, and you can rent a new scooter from them if you want to explore a bit.

Small - yes this point appears on both pros and cons. Although it’s nice that it’s not crowded, there isn’t much of a vibe unless you create it yourself.

Cleanliness - it’s only been open for some months, so the rooms and beds have high standard and are very, very clean. Bunk beds - are super comfy with nice pillows and duvets, have shelves with plenty of space for your things, electricity sockets, curtains for privacy, individual lights, hangers and safety boxes for your valuables. I had my best sleeps in a long time! They are also much taller than normal so you don’t feel trapped in. Small - there is only 12 beds in total, this makes it easy to maintain clean, quiet and safe. Showers - are hot and have very good pressure. Motorbikes - A trustworthy place to rent for a cheap price. Koh Lanta is definitely an island you want to rent a motorbike on because things are so spread out. The roads are really good. You won’t have any issues here! Atom - What a fantastic woman! You can really tell she is running her business not for money but with her heart and she cares so much for her guests. I personally always try to support these kinds of businesses, hope you do too. House cat - Of course Fatty deserves a shout out for being the best resident. (He is not allowed in the rooms but is always ready for cuddles in the common area) Wi-Fi - is good. I’m working remotely so this is important for me and I had no problems at all.

you can really tell that they are trying to make your stay comfortable. they included any thing you might be missing such as little toiletries and even sewing threads. lots of little touches like that. the bed was very comfortable and was closer to a capsule since you had so much privacy and even a little wooden area to put all of your things.

Close to the beach, good AC in the room, can get discount at Together cafe which is also nice place. All the staffs are really nice people, warm and welcoming environment!

Fatty not allowed in dorms for a cuddle 😆

Everything is perfect at this hostel.. I had previously stayed in this hostel for 16 days earlier in my trip, then went to Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, and back to Koh Lanta, for Happiness for another 9 nights, because I loved it so much Atom, is just perfect 🥰 she's so helpful, knowledgeable, and so accommodating.. she will help you out with anything you need, she's such a beautiful soul.. and I'm so pleased I got to know her on a personal level, and I see her, as my koh lanta best friend.. she has such a beautiful energy and it shows in her hostel.. she puts lovely little homely touches everywhere, she wants people to feel safe and happy there.. such a chilled vibe hostel.. I love it so much, that when I next come back.. I'll stay a month there.. I just love everything about happiness.. its more than a hostel.. you feel the love there ❤️ My previous review gave all the good points.. I just want to praise Atom, and her staff for the kind and true authentic Thai culture of being made to feel like part of her family.. thats how she made me feel.. plus the hostel has a very good manager Fatty Cat.. forever busy 😆 Do yourselves a favour if you're a good vibe tribe and chilled vibe.. this is the hostel for you! Honestly, it's perfect 🥰

Not the hostels fault but the location isn’t amazing but if you hire a bike, the busier part of the area is only a 10 minute drive!

The owner is so so so lovely and helpful! She told me places to go, how to get there and took me to the pier at 7am! The beds are SO comfy, two huge pillows and super comfy mattress and blanket. Fatty the cat is lovely too, definitely a great addition.

Small locker space, but this wasn't a major issue.

The hostel had the best location, close to everything, you could hire a bike from them, book tours and transport, they even did your washing for a very reasonable fee. The owner was so lively and so helpful, and fatty the cat was also super welcoming. The shower pressure was amazing, and refreshing after been in hostels for 3 weeks previously. The beds were spacious and comfortable.

Fatty cat isn't allowed in the dorms (lol) This is a satire comment.. because I understand the reason he's not allowed.. but it breaks your heart when you can't let him in and he stares at you through the window door 🤣

It's a new hostel, and we originally booked for 4 nights (as a walk in).. then we extended another 4 nights via booking.com so we could leave a review.. and then we extended another 5 nights 😆 Firstly.. the owner Atom, is absolutely perfect (she is currently one person band doing everything, so she flits between the hostel and her other business, The Together cafe (which does amazing food and coffee btw) but she is only a phone call away if you need anything and will be there within a few min if you need her. (So please bear this in mind that she's not always here, so lock the front door behind you if you're going out, and make sure fatty cat is inside if no one else is about 😊) The beds are really comfy and well set out.. the top bunks are a bit higher than usual hostels, so you feel nice and tucked away for extra privacy.. you get a shelf which runs alongside the bed.. light and outlet and safe in each bunk area on the shelf, youre also provided with some coat hangers and a rail which runs along your curtain pole.. if you did want to hang a few items up 😀 And there's room on the bed to store your backpack at the bottom of your bed.. air con works great (we do turn it off if we're going out and no one's in the room.. and room stays cool for when we have returned) It's a nice chilled hostel (not a party hostel) so perfect for people who just want a nice chilled vibe.. and it has 10 extra bonus points because it has a resident former street cat (Fatty) staying there. (He's the manager, lol) (only rule with him.. he's not allowed out at night.. so if you stay.. be on board with looking out for fatty cat 🐈 😻 (At night he does like to sleep in a storage cupboard late at night, so if you cant see him.. check the cupboard near the shower area) The showers are standard thai style.. have really good pressure, best I've come across since being in Thailand..

The absolute only issue is you can't have Fatty the cat in your room, completely understand why incase of allergies or anything like that but his little face when he looks at you go in your room hehe.

Happiness hostel is the best hostel. We booked through her personally and extended but used booking com so we can leave a review. We are currently still here 😂 as we love it so much, 4 days turned into 14. The place is new and run by a lovely lady Atom, she is so friendly and happy to help with anything. The beds are so comfy and having a little shelf is perfect for storing your stuff, bed is good size so you can make yourself a proper little nest. Bathrooms are clean and working, standard thai showers and toilets but great water pressure. This is a chilled hostel so not for parties which makes it great if you enjoy a decent night's sleep as its so quiet. Free bottle of water everyday and also free noodles and snacks in the fridge. I would highly recommend staying here as it is in a quiet area but has everything you need close by, beach, restaurants, 7/11. Plus an absolutely massive bonus is the hostel comes with a cat Fatty who is just awesome! He is a very good manager 😂 Best hostel I've stayed in and I'm a very experienced traveller. I would 100% stay again. Thank Atom for making such a lovely hostel :) Not massively social so perfect if you want some peace but very new and people are only just discovering it. Is a seating/chill out area to chat to people though.

new hostel! nice room, comfy bed, enough space, clean showers and toilets… to explore the island you can rent a motorbike at the hostel… would definitely go back there!
