Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainGrace is a gift to humanity. The love she has for her guests is noticeable and kindness resonates from her. The facilities are adequate, a/c works well, bathroom space, showers, and storage are all plentiful. She loves to bake and from time to time will have baked goods for sale including homemade peanut butter. There is a well stocked drink fridge with super cold beer, a simple but complete dinner menu with several options all available until late at an affordable price cooked by Grace personally, Banoffee pie (a special desert made by her), and breakfast is bread, bananas, and a plate of scrambled eggs per person. The lobby has recently become home to four lovely cats (2 adults and 2 kittens) that she rescued; they have all been to the vet and she is actively getting them their vaccines to keep them clean and healthy (another gesture of her big heart). She partners with a moped company and they have great bikes at incredibly affordable rates (the best and cheapest way to experience all that Chiang Rai has to offer). The place has some cobwebs and dust that could be cleaned, but it’s easily forgotten when you see how hard she works and how much she cares. Don’t miss this opportunity, 10/10.

Grace Hostel was the best stay I had chosen of all my trip through East Asia. The owner is just one of the most kind and heart-warming person I've ever met. She also speaks fluent English, so she taught me so many things about the town, the culture and the places to visit. Also her son and daughter in law are really nice people. The hostel is very clean and the beds comfortable. They also rent motorbikes and offer tour services. The breakfast included in the price is delicious and more than enough and the other meals not included but at a very affordable price are delicious. It is really difficult to explain in a review how good this place is.

IndiaNothing much. Lift is missing. Bedsheets not provided. But these are manageable
This is situated in a good location in Chiang rai. Accessible to shops, stores, night market. The host lady was kind though could not speak English properly but tried to help proactively whenever I approached her. Her son also helped me in carryng luggage upstairs as they do not have a lift. Beds were comfortable, clean toilets and bathrooms. Separate for girls and boys. They offered bread 🍞, banana 🍌 and egg 🥚 in breakfast. Also tea coffee maker available. Overall good for this price

Czech RepublicThe room is spacious and you have your privacy. Separated bathrooms are also something I appreciated during my stay. There is quiet and cozy lobby which was perfect since I needed to work from there every day. Wifi connection was good. Breakfast was delicious, and you can make yourself a cup of tea and coffee all day long. The owner and staff is really friendly and helpful. I planned to stay for 3 nights and stayed for over a week. The best hostel I've stayed so far.

FranceAmazing hostel ! Grace is very kind, she does everything to make you feel comfortable. My room was big, the bed comfy with curtains. Big lockers are also available outside the room if you need to stock your luggages. Many bathrooms so you don't have to wait if the one in your room is taken. Free breakfast in the morning with toasts all day ! A bit far from the night market but you can easily take a Grab or rent a bike, or you also have free bicycles. I would go back there without hesitation, thank you !!

SpainI didn’t like leaving haha nothing at all to worry, everything was even better than expected.
I had a feeling of staying at home and even being received by a mother like Grace. She cooked every time delicious things (breakfast and meals), she is always ready to talk and listen with a big smile. All the family is lovely and they are very ready to help with anything. They even kept my bags for when I wasn’t there. I really appreciate their kindness and peace. The hostel is very quiet (despite being in a big avenue) and clean. The room and bed were very comfortable. I will come back one day!
