The location is perfect to enjoy the serenity. Its an old hotel, so don't expect high amenities but it was neat & clean. Breakfast is almost the same everyday. I stayed there for 4 days.

The reception staff was actually close to be roud. Very unlike Thai. So we where taken all by surprice. Also at the chech out the where not even a smile (and yes, we did pay and had not broken anything).

Great location in Ao Nang. Right there on the beach and close to everything. The room was fine, clean and had what we exspected.

Mattresses are very hard. Breakfast is a set price and really not worth it when there are so many options available nearby.

Lovely big room with everything we needed for our 4 night stay in Ao Nang. Location is great, at the quieter end of Ao Nang and just two minute walk to the beach. Ao Nang is a very busy, lively resort, full of hustle and bustle but Soi Ao Nang 17 is a lot quieter and the beach is quieter as well. Not to mention, the best place to watch the beautiful sunsets.

Wanted to charge 500 baht to go 1km with my bicycle bag. Breakfast was OK, but no omelette or bacon. Small selection of bread and cheese

No smoking in the room ( its ok ) No smoking in the hotel premises , No smoking at balcony . No smoking outside the room. If you want to smoke you have to go out of the hotel ( resort ) near the beach or resturant away from hotel to smoke .

Every thing was nice , location , the view , swimming pool , outdoor resturant , staff , clean .

Showers aren't very good. Fridge didn't cool very much. None of these two things were big issues - just details to improve.

Great resort with a perfect location right at the beach - still peaceful compared to Ao Nang main street. Stayed in one of the "beehives", first floor, with a bit of seaview. Very big and comfortable room. Nice and helpful staff. Very good breakfast buffet. Great pool area and pool. All in all our choice next time again in Ao Nang :-)

Breakfast could be nicer but was adequate. Staff within the hotel could interact more with guests - but felt this was a training issue not necessarily a staff problem. Bar staff very nice.

we stayed in a pavilion suite with garden view - this was the best room we had stayed in during our month travelling around Thailand. Location excellent, absolutely stunning spot virtually on the beach, lovely to stroll along in the evening, and wake up to in the morning. We had a beautiful little private terrace overlooking the beach where we were able to watch the sunrise. Room extremely large and comfortable. Pool lovely. Bar on the front overlooking the beach lovely too. 'The last Fishermans Bar' a little further along from the Hotel was a lovely find for good food. Did the Monkey trail just past the Fishermans Bar at 7am in the morning - we had about 40 very cute monkeys come down from the trees to see us. It was lovely to walk along the front of Ao Nang beach with all it hustle and bustle - but even better knowing we had this beautiful spot lit up with lanterns at night and virtually on the beach to go back to. Also recommend the ladies just past the hotel who do the massages under canopies - their massages are excellent and very reasonable - my husband & I went each night after long days spent sight seeing, it was a real treat.

The staff cannot speak English and it is a big problem. I do not recommend breakfast.

Not good WiFi. Breakfast started at 7. Little late for some activities. Room were humid, clothes never dry. Air conditioner not so good to cooler the room

Remediation was needed for bathtub around the top surface were it meets the surrounding wall Water collected and drained into the back wall. This may create a water damage for them if not corrected

Water wouldn't get hot in our first room. After some back and forth (and translation help from Joy), we got an 'upgrade' to another room that had a seaview but was smaller and had no hot-tub (so I'm not sure if really an upgrade). Counter staff initially said the hotel was fully booked, but it certainly didn't appear that way... only saw one 3 or 4 other groups during our whole stay and the breakfast area was always empty. Water took a long time to heat up in the second room also, and was only ever warm. WiFi also quite weak. Anyway, the location (and Joy) made up for the rest.

Joy, who sits at the travel desk in the lobby, was amazing! Very friendly, professional, and helpful. When we were having difficulty communicating a room issue to the counter staff, she stepped in to play translator. She was also immensely helpful when we unexpectedly needed transportation to the airport. That woman deserves a raise! Location was perfect ... just steps from the beach, with restaurants in easy reach. Nice pool too.

The first time i stayed here was in 2007 …. I had the single story villa. The interiors need updating and its a shame they filled in the previously glassed bath area. At over AUD $3000 a week i fear this was my last stay at golden beach. This trip i paid $3000 for three weeks in a 4 star hotel with seaviews in patong

Air conditioning broke twice. Called service desk at 5.30am. Not response. Went to service desk at 7.30 am to report again, but there was no response. Reported again at 9.30am. No response. Reported again to service desk at 6.00pm & had someone come to finally fix. Bed was hard. Toilet paper not replaced.

The location was good. Rooms were clean

We did not end up getting the room we had booked. This did result in an upgrade but this meant we had no double bed for the adults. Not a huge problem for us but could be for some.

The bungalow itself was so beautiful. We had a huge bathroom with a large jacuzzi bath and a lovely shower. The pool was well kept and we almost had it to ourselves as it is low season.
