I had an amazing stay at the Funky Crab. The location is great and the views are beautiful. Indy (the owner) is super sweet and amazing she organised trips and transport for me (she has her own taxi service). I enjoyed my stay so much that I extended. If you are looking for a place to stay in Krabi town I strongly recommend here!

The place was amazing, such a nice view! We actually booked 2 days extra. Indy, the woman running the hotel, was such a good hostess! She was so nice and took care of everything, she even has her own taxi service! We loved it here, would definately recommend!

At the beginning the hotel seemed like a really good option. The location was good and the price was a big factor in our decision to stay here. As we arrived the staff seamed nice and friendly but not much later she switched up completely. When we went up to the room we unpacked our stuff and activated the fan. It took us not long until we figured it was way to hot and impossible to stay in the room for any period of time. First we thought we where lucky because we saw a AC on the wall. It took us a few minutes until we figured that the owner wanted to charge extra for the ac, don’t get me wrong I am willing to pay extra but the amount the owner wanted was almost as high as the room itself. Wich was obviously a scam, there is no way it’s possible to stay in this room without AC. So if you want to stay here be aware of that!!! Also the water from the shower was stinky and there where insects all over the place. In the lobby they have a glass filled with insects which where crawling everywhere. It was just a small inconvenience but we were not allowed to wear our shoes inside even though it seemed not clean at all. At the end when we tried to talk with the owner about the amount she tried to charge us, she was not willing to talk normally and immediately started threatening us with her connections to the local police. After my stay here I just feel betrayed and scamed. If we had known this before hand we would have chosen a different hotel. I would NOT recommend this hotel at all! This one experience was so different from all the others here in Thailand and really shocked me. Please think twice about staying here. Here are many other options which are better and more affordable. Please don’t fall for this scam and stay far away from this place.

The price would have been great but only if you are able to stay in an 30+ degree room.

The place’s location was absolutely perfect! Very quiet surroundings, but also very easy to walk to night markets, supermarkets, restaurants and stuff like that. The host were super sweet and helpful. We got help with getting to a bus station and rented scooters at the homestay as well. We’d definitely recommend it!

It's wasn't possible to sleep in my room without the AC in the night. There is no ventilation or outside air coming in. So even in the night the room stayed freaking hot. With a price per day of 200 baht for the AC (which I find quite a lot, and it was old and rattled all the time) it was in total very expensive and I would rather search for a different place to stay. In general I found the prices there pretty high and unreasonable for the quality of the room. 300 baht deposit for the key, which isn't given back when you wear shoes indoors, small breakfast 160, ... .

Wanted to have some chill days in a room for myself in Krabi. The location is nice, pretty quite but still in walkable distance to most markets.

You need to plug your card in to get the Airco going. It was boiling hot when I entered the room. Airco couldn't get the temperature at a comfortable temperature. The shower was right next to the toilet and the head is not really adjustable.

We’ve been travelling in Thailand for over two months and this is the only place that threatens to keep your key deposit of 300 baht if you wear shoes inside the property. They were very strict about this and one night even messaged us about not leaving our shoes outside and if a dog got them it isn’t their responsibility. This was all very weird and seemed unnecessary. Also, the window in our room would not close fully so loads of ants came in to our room twice. The staff gave us some ant spray to take care of them.

Lovely social area to meet other travellers. Great place to watch the rain as well if there is a downpour. The staff helped book our journey to Surat Thani. Sold beer from a fridge and the place was right on the waterfront.

I love everything about this place. You can come here and relax. You can rent a scooter and go on Adventure. Madame Host can book tours much cheaper then if you do it by yourself. Amazing place will come here again and again!!! Everything is clean and Top. The Location is amazing you can walk everywhere for your daily needs. Went here after Bankok and Chiang Mai, got some clothes that i needed to wash. Absolutly no Problem just ask and its done in no time. Last and most important!: the Staff and of course Madame Host just amazing People! Felt like Home for me.

The twin room with a fan was clean, comfortable and equipped with a nice little bathroom. Location is great, located right on the river and walking distance to the main town of Krabi. WiFi really good. Such good value for money

I would recommend this stay. It was great value. I was offered an upgrade for a room with a sea view at a very reasonable price. The room was a good size, very clean and comfortable, with a fridge, good AC and a fan. There was a nice area with shelves and hooks to hang up clothes. The bathroom was great with a good shower and nice liquid soap! The hostel has a communal bar area where you can meet other guests and breakfast is available too. The owner is very nice and helpful. She offered me good advice about getting around and can organise tours and transport to other areas of Thailand. The location was great for me. It was in easy walking distance of the pier, walking street, night markets, cafes, restaurants and very close to 7-eleven which was very handy.

It‘s been my third time in the funky crab. Have been to islands inbetween. It‘s been a perfect base to plan further travels. The owner helped me with bus and boattickets, with my simcard and many other things. The rooms are clean and quiet. Its located at a beautiful riverside but still in short walking distance to the center.
