Simple hostel, functional, comfortable beds. All around a nice experience at an ok price. Staff is nice, massage is available and it's quite good. Great location and amazing wifi, perfect for remote working a couple of days if necessary.

Air conditioning was not cold enough for the temperature it displayed so it may need upgrading. Room and furniture was a bit dated, but this was not an issue. The room was also on a busy road, so it can get loud sometimes and may need earplugs.

Staff were very helpful and accommodating when we had to request a late check out and they held our bags for a few hours. Spacious and clean rooms in a good location, a few minutes walk from kata beach and the restaurants. Basic room at an affordable price.

The room was described as “Mountain View”, however the hill was the other side of a very busy road. The noise from the traffic meant we couldn’t sit on our balcony or sleep properly.

I was perfectly happy with the location, the cheerful staff and the Thai food options at the Freedom Kata end of town. I ate locally in a family-run restaurant, with a car in the garage and only 8-10 covers on 3 of my 4 nights.

Barry runs an efficient hotel, ably assisted by Som & Than who work hard to answer all of your questions & needs, with a cheerful demeanour. I believe Som also runs the massage shop next door and Than is learning thai massage as well. I preferred Kata Noi beach to the one at Kata, but Barry's hotel is at the convenient end of Kata to walk over the hill to Kata Noi beach but also enjoy the bars which are between the two beaches. The nightlife area at the other (northern) end of Kata beach is more suited to hip hop fans who like their beers expensive in lonely (empty) bars.

walking distance to the beach decent rooms, good air conditioner if you go in the opposite direction from the beach, there are many cheap local cafes advice: use Bolt app instead of taxis and tuk-tuks; Phi Phi islands tour can be 1300 bat only but it still would be 40+ people in a small boat - not very nice, try to find other options

Big and spacious. Short walk to the beach and in a quiet corner. Friendly boss and staff. Great value for money. For my room, the air con compressor is diagonally above the drying rack and any wet gear dries in a night. Muay thai gym right next door and I had a session there too. Good and cheap food is easily available nearby.

Wash stand inside the room. Not much light in the room. could be less dusty.

Superb hotel. Great location. Rooms are huge. The best thing is the breakfast. Great variety and all is fresh. The chef comes every morning to check everything.

First about cleanliness, the room itself is rather unclean. From stained bathroom tiles, dusty bed headboard, desk, wardrobe and shelves. Every time I placed something onto a shelf, dust just flew up. The AC and bedsheets smelled rather strongly of mildew and I actually developed an allergic reaction to the beddings, making sleeping difficult. Additionally, the room I was given for my room type does not have any windows, making clearing the air particularly difficult. Then about furniture quality, the bed was incredibly hard, my joints actually hurt while trying to fall asleep. The door to the balcony also has gaps so I question my safety as a solo female traveler while also enjoying the hot air blowing in from outside. On the public areas, the entire place is rather dimly lit and ventilation was also rather poor. The staircase and main foyer is connected by their makeshift trash area which reeks every time you’re near. While my booking was for over a week, I stayed only for one night and left, it wasn’t worth any of the mental and physical torture.

Good location, close to Kata beach, got plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Tucked away in a back alley so it’s not very loud at night.

Very well located, near all amenities and 2 minutes to the beach by scooter. The hotel is very clean and comfortable room with cable Tv and good wifi. The owner is always on location, and always there to help. Thank you Sir 🙏

Fantastic hotel for value. Comfortable bed, clean, quiet etc. Right next to a nice clean good looking great atmosphere restaurant with all types of Asian, Italian, European food.
