lots of renovations going on in the property, we were never advised before hand, however it was never noisy just very bulky view of construction and reno going on, also rainy so beach is off limits, no swimming.

some of the staff in the breakfast area was friendly, other than that all had limited English. rooms are comfy, probably need revamp in general coz it fell kinda colonial and oldie. kids club is decent and pool is fun for kid too.

A Nicely Located Hotel That Needs Work on Humidity Issue

Even though we had arrived half an hour after the check in time, we were asked to wait for another 1.5 hours because the rooms (we reserved 3 rooms) were not ready. We were provided with complementary drinks and desserts at the bar, but I found the delay for more than half an hour to be unacceptable. This means we also missed the afternoon tea that came with the room that day. Another sticking point is the humidity in the guest rooms. Of the three rooms (deluxe beach front and landmark suite), the landmark suite was the least humid. Both the deluxe rooms had problems ranging from mildew smell in the shower and sink to significant condensation on the floor that caused slipping. It would be nice to have a rec room when it rains since the activities offered are all outdoors(pools, tennis, golf, except for the young kids area)

The hotel was beachfront and had plenty of lounging chairs and beach chair. The hotel had a lush tropical feel and lots of shades to sit under.

Location - far from main city and taxis were expensive. Shuttle only goes to the main district gate and were not often. The pillows were too soft. The rooms had a musty/moldy smell.

A really pleasant stay and would recommend Dusit Thani as a superb relaxing and tranquil resort.

Even though the room service food options were great value, the quality of the food could have been better on some of the items ordered, i.e. not sure how totally fresh or clean some of the vegetables with one of the ordered curries were, versus the odd taste of them. Plus would have been great seeing alot more Thai food options on the room service as well. Along with the room I stayed in, the balcony had alot of bird droppings on the ledges and some on the floor of the balcony, I would have expected it to be cleaned away, at least after the next room cleaning but was the same condition throughout my 5 days stay there, which meant I hardly used the balcony.

All the staff came across, during my stay, from the reception, to cleaners, to pool tower attendants, restaurant folk and everyone else, were all genuinely friendly, everyone you encountered, making your stay even more welcoming plus enjoyable. The breakfast was also really tasty and thoroughly enjoyed it each morning.

Rooms were not as nice as we expected for a 5 star and for that price. We booked an Oceanview yet some of the "oceanviews" are blocked by the restaurant. We had to insist on them moving us.

Nice, on the beach. Nice breakfast. Nice staff. Clean.

The service was slow, there was a problem of ants & cockroches in the room but I think it is a outcome of being close to the sea.

Our rooms opened into the garden and the beach .. it was beautiful. Their pool and kids play area was very nice as well. The food option was limited but good, cocktails were nice. The staff near the pool and at restaurants was excellent and very helpful.

The property was fantastic overall. However the only negatives I have is that the breakfast for the price point overall, is not Up to the 5 star standard of the hotel. I’ve seen people saying similar and tend to agree. We stayed one night in the Hyatt in Kamala for a similar price range and that breakfast was phenomenal. Other than this, 10/10

The property is perfectly situated,a brief walk to the centre of bang tao, but also right on the beach. The staff are absolutely brilliant, Thai hospitality is unmatched. A free upgrade and a late check out as we were flying at midnight. Extremely clean and staff working 24/7 to maintain high levels of cleanliness and presentation.

Deducted 3 points from my rating because of the following: - Our next door neighbour was making a lot of noise, playing loud music in the room at 2am, talking loudly outside our room at 530am etc. We asked for ear plugs but the hotel had none. I thought this was something very easy to provide and was surprised that they didn’t have any. We had to buy our own. - More broadly, the management of noise complaints was subpar. When they said they had no ear plugs, they told us we could call them when it got noisy and they would send a manager to talk to the guest. So we did on one of the nights at 2am. We waited but no one came. My husband had to walk to the lobby to get security. Security was not firm with the guest and this did not give assurance that it will not reoccur. - There was a cockroach in the room. The restaurant also had many ants and flies.

Staff were very welcoming on our visit. Check in process was great, where you can sit and relax while they settled your check in for you. The club benefits made the stay very value for money. Breakfast quality and variety were good - we did not get sick of it even though we ate there every day. Loved that the beach was just a short walk away from our room. There was also a Saturday night market just outside the hotel.

It’s obviously an older property so parts of it look a bit dated but it’s still a lovely hotel. Very comfortable and good value.

Great location, right on the beach within easy walking distance to several beach bars and restaurants. Loads of space around the resort so it didn’t feel too crowded. Very comfortable bed and lovely shower. Good breakfast buffet and all the staff were lovely.

Couple of things that didn't go well. As soon as we walked into the room I noticed the table surfaces had stain marks from the previous guests cup and glasses. In the bathroom the soap tray had used soap from the previous guests. We were a party of three in the room, but on arrival only two complimentary water bottles were provided and also only two large bath towels. The organisation in breakfast restaurant is a complete chaos, nobody is checking/receiving the guests the area is way too small for the number of guests. Everyone going for breakfast after 8.30am is left waiting to find a table to sit down. The layout is outdate and there is massive bottleneck at the egg station.

Good view from the room, the beach was only 50 metres away and very clean.
