Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab Emirates1. Had to ask for toilet paper a couple of times 2. The room hadn't been fully cleaned on a couple of occasions eg: bins not emptied, bath gel not replenished, water not replenished 3. Had to ask for the grass not to be cut or the cutting of wood while we were trying to rest
1. Location 2. Friendliness of staff 3. Lovely facilities - not pretentious 4. On the beach 5. Wildlife, fresh air

NetherlandsBreakfast was minimal, not even a juice, for that roomprice you really have to do better. No coffee or thee facilities in your room. There is no corner with a chair in the room where you can sit and relax. No windows in the room, yes you can open up half the cabin, but it was very stormy the time we were there, so you could not open up anything without being blown away. There are two sides you can completely fold open, make one a fixed window, it woul be so much better.
Location top, beautifull place on the beach, Staff was super kind and helpfull. Pool was absolutely fantastic.

NetherlandsIt is recommended to go for a superior room as the deluxe cabanas can make you feel a bit trapped.
Costa Lanta is nicely located at Khlong Dao Beach. At bit more secluded from the larger and busier resorts. The staff and owners are really friendly and helpful. The woodfired pizzas are delicious.

An ideal place to switch off and wind down very quickly. Very nice and helpful hosts. The bungalows themselves are timeless and simple. Just beautiful.

United KingdomThe standard room resembles a tiny concrete converted garage.. very small windows and an extremely hard bed. The bikes available for use were very old and rusty without gears, and the cycling was so hard even on flat roads. I think it could be a really lovely place, but everything needs a little investment as it feels a bit run down. For the price I was quite disappointed.
The beach front location is fantastic and the pool is very nice. The breakfast was good and everyone working there very helpful.

United KingdomSome of the soft furnishings, such as the pads on the sun loungers and the curtains in the rooms, could be updated. A couple of snacks added to the cocktail menu would be a nice touch.
The location by the beach is fantastic and I like the family-run feel. I also love the concrete Noughties architecture and the birdlife in the garden. Relaxed vibe but warm and attentive service.

United Kingdomthe only thing that we had an issue with was the design of the room - the openness of the rooms (2 walls open up completely) was a nice novelty but both myself and my partner are a magnet for mosquitos and so to not be able to go back to the room and relax in the knowledge we’d had it all sealed up was literally the only downside to the whole place. I know other people will love this design though and we saw so many people enjoying being able to open the rooms up to be part of nature, but it’s just not something we were as keen on.
the hotel was so so peaceful, a perfect little paradise to relax. the rooms were immaculately clean and having someone come round each evening to get the room mosquito free was such a lovely extra. we can’t speak highly enough of the staff, they were exceptional - all so friendly and happy and they helped us so much throughout our stay, from organising motorbike rental, onward transfers and also for recommending where we should travel to next. The food (and drink) was amazing, the breakfast was way above what we’ve had throughout our Thailand holiday so far. The woodfired pizzas for dinner were incredible and we both loved the lunch options as well - I genuinely don’t think we’ve devoured food that fast in weeks. The pool was also fantastic, very clean and with amazing views of the beach and grounds. The monitor lizards that we could spot on the grounds were also so so cool.

NorwayCosta Lanta is a very relaxing hotel. I don't think I've ever been on holiday anywhere more peaceful than Costa Lanta. the architecture is unique. That alone is worth experiencing. The rooms are spacious, clean, bright and modern. both the owner and the staff are very cheerful and helpful. You stay in the middle of nature while also having access to a fantastic, large and calm beach. I couldn't get enough of the gorgeous sunset. Considering the peace and rest I have had, I absolutely recommend this hotel strongly.

NetherlandsThe place has clearly seen better times. The internet didn't work and since we didn't have a Thai sim, that was quite a problem for us planning the rest of our trip. We later discovered that internet at the reception did work, but it's annoying to have to keep running to the reception for everything. It was also a bit disappointing that, even though we were the only guests (covid times), they didn't upgrade us to one of the empty chalets closer to the beach. It would have been no extra work.
Incredibly modern and stylish resort. We had the most comfortable sleep here of all of our Thailand trip. Also has a fantastic pool and high quality food and drinks (lovely ginger lemeade). The peace and serenity was a really nice change from our previous hotel which was more like a kindergarten (overrun with noisy/crying babies and children). The pictures on booking.com don't do this place justice, it's nicer in reality. They should hire a photographer.

United StatesThis was exactly what we needed after a few sweaty nights in the jungle on another island. Cozy and cool room. AMAZING pool. Fantastic food and drink right on the beach. And it's quiet. The owners were so AMAZING and KIND. We chatted with them a lot and loved their restaurant suggestion so much we went two nights in a row. This was the perfect place to just RELAX. Also a great spot on the island. Not far from the pier and at the end of the beach so not a lot of people walking by. Highly recommend.

United StatesNot sure if we lost the room lottery or what, but it was nothing like expected. We arrived to a room that was completely shut by huge wooden doors. There was no way to enjoy the views and have the room closed. Either doors are full open, to elements and insects or closed and you are now in an enclosed wooden box. Only a couple small windows behind the bed to let light in. I double checked the listing to see if I made a mistake, but photos show glass doors on other rooms. It was just weird. No privacy for the "lounge" area outside the room, it felt like a camping ground. Inside was worn with bathroom needing a freshen up. We did not stay, but immediately hope back on Booking.com to find another place. Lost money with the onsite cancellation, but it was worth it to move somewhere else. Staff was fine, but not empowered to help with the situation. We were not offered another room, just allowed to go on our way. We were kind to the staff throughout, as it is not a reflection of them. This is just poor design. I'm in tourism business and have seen some awkward places, but for the price point, this one takes the cake.
