Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe low internet speed in the family house.
My 2 weeks stay in Cashewnut Tree Bungalows I recently stayed for 2 weeks at the family house in Cashewnut Tree Bungalows and had a very relaxing time. The owners are incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything I needed. They offer a wide range of services, including scooter rentals, boat trips, elephant rides in the rainforest, various minivan or ferry connections to other cities or airports, diving trips, and numerous local attractions with plenty of recommendations. The resort also provides laundry services at a very reasonable price. The resort area itself is very peaceful, which helped me relax completely. It is centrally located in the southern part of Koh Lanta, near many restaurants, souvenir shops, 7-Eleven store, bars, and beautiful beaches. You can easily visit each of the beaches by scooter, which is very convenient. The location is relatively close to the national park and a waterfall, both of which are worth visiting. During my stay, I explored the entire island and found that the southern part is much more peaceful than the northern part. The resort provides internet access, but in the family house where I stayed, the connection was the weakest among all the bungalows. The speed was around 7 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. Sometimes, I had to use my mobile internet for work. However, for regular internet use, the provided connection should be sufficient, with speeds up to 310 Mbps claimed by the owners in the other bungalows. In summary, Cashewnut Resort is very well organized, and the owners are very helpful. During my stay, I had an issue with my scooter, and the owners immediately assisted me by facilitating communication with the local Thai people, which was a great help. I could always count on their support. If I return to Koh Lanta, I will definitely visit Cashewnut Tree Bungalows again.

United KingdomAn extra bedside light for the single bed could have been useful perhaps mounted on the wall
Rapid response to making our stay better by replacing a single mattress with a more comfortable one. Very friendly staff. Extremely clean bungalow. Uncluttered stylish decor. Tea/coffee making facilities. Very effective airconditioner that kept the room cool, as the temperature outside during the day was unbearably hot at times.

MalaysiaIt was all good. Just one thing - there is no bedside table but that’s not a big problem.
Property is well located with access to Kantiang beach by a small road about 5 mins walk. There is parking available at the property which is good. It’s very quiet and set in a nice garden environment. Beds are comfortable. The rooms are spacious. The hosts were very helpful in giving information about local attractions and where to eat. Also you can order breakfast to be delivered to your room.

United KingdomSome reviews have mentioned the rocky track up to the resort. But come on guys it's only 15 metres or so. It's no problem on foot or with a bike but I can see that if you have a hire car you would have to be careful.
We really enjoyed our stay. Cashewnut is perfectly situated in Kantiang which is not the busiest strip of Ko Lanta. This means it's less crowded although it still has plenty of life, and has a good vibe. The owners recommend excellent restaurants nearby. The nearby beach is great but like most Ko Lanta beaches has very little shade so we only went late in the day. We hired a bike - which was very good value - and explored the island using Cashewnut as a base. The room was clean and comfortable. And the owners set a friendly tone. There's no pool or breakfast 0- but you wouldn't expect it for the price, and we didn't miss either.

United KingdomA great place we would choose it again if we return to this area.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The bungalows are cool and shaded by trees and it was great to watch the monkeys playing everywhere. It was a short walk to the beach which is great for swimming but no shade so we returned to the bungalow to relax. There is a bar with shade on the beach but the staff were not very jolly. There is a fabulous Indian restaurant nearby if you want a change from Thai.

AustriaI wasn’t a great fan of the interior of the family room at first, but it was very functional and clean which was most important to us.
What we liked the most was definitely the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners :-)

Czech RepublicThe last 100 meters to accommodation are really bad, the drivers do not want to go up, be it transport upon arrival or taxi, when you are leaving, so be ready to go on foots on really bad way. During booking process of so-called family room I was not asked if I want separate beds (I should have added special request, but in description there are two large beds and nobody asks) and then we were charged 150 baht for bedding, I consider it redundant, why not to make it complimentary? The doors to the room are sometimes difficult for handling (to lock especially).
Friendly staff, location in nature, restaurants and shops very close, possibility to rent a motorbike. I would recommend restaurant named A la carte, close to accommodation.

ThailandSome crumbs on the floor and here comes the ants... we did recieve a bug spray on request. There was no TV. We didn't care, but some will want to know that. The road leading to the resort's parking is hellish for privet cars. I hope they can fix it, although most guests arrive without a car, and it's no problem for scooters or walking.
The resort is clean and simple. The (only) family room was great, lots of room for us, lots of hangers and suitable furniture. Thd beds were comfy, bathroom clean and convenient. The room's decor is unique in style with lots of concrete and 'ruff-looking' style. There's AC, refrigirator, we got some cookies and great towel decorations. The owners, an italian couple, were so nice and friendly! We enjoyed our conversations of island life. They were very helpful with food ideas and the surroundings in general. The beach is really close, 2 minutes walking. There's a nice pub with live performance on the beach. Sometimes the monkeys from the forest next to the resort come out to play. They are cute, don't leave stuff outside the room.
