Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe really didn't have an issue with anything.
Bang Po Hut is a great little place to stay - its off the beaten track of Chaweng and the hustle and bustle of Samui in a LOVELY part of the island, much quieter and less 2 for 1 buckets and more excellent cocktails and coffee options. The accomodation itself is lovely, on a farm with adorable little piglets running around! The host is VERY helpful, and the rooms were really big and amazing value for money (again bonus for the little piglets that come up to your door). Definitely would stay again and would recommend to anyone! Recommend 4 Monkeys for cocktails, and Cherish for a surprisingly good curry.

HungaryThe fridge was a bit noisy, and the bed for me a bit soft. But these are just minor things. Otherwise great place to stay!
The garden is amazing, looks beautiful and the little hut is very nice. Small kitchen outside is useful. The staff is super friendly and pays attention to everything. You can rent a scooter as well. We would choose Bang Po Hut again.

Czech RepublicAmazing traditional houses among trees and palm trees. The host Tang is an absolutely wonderful person who cares about your comfort and will help you with anything you need. She also takes really good care of the surroundings and her farm. The house was clean, everything needed was available and the peace and sounds of nature were great. Thank you very much!

Russiaroom was cozy, but really small. it’s ok for short stay, but if you want to live there longer - it maybe not really comfortable. also there was no wardrobe. the bathroom also was not perfect - you washing in front of the toilet, so toilet getting wet all the time. but the most minus for me were big ants all over the floor in bathroom and the room. the good thing - they didn’t come to the bed!
Really great location - in very quiet area, you will be sleeping so good with all the birds singing, and just 10min walk to the nice beach, 7/11 and cafes. The most comfortable bed and pillows! So nice that you have fully equipped kitchen on your terrace (microwave, toaster, stove) and all the appliances needed for cooking. Very nice owners, cute dog and green surroundings made this place so unique and cozy. nice and very simple breakfast. you can also sent a bike from them, but we didn’t like ours - was too small for two ppl.

GermanyLovely place and very nice owners. Got a nice breakfast every day with fresh eggs from their own chicken plus a fresh coffee and fruits. We even extended our stay for one more night. On the Main Street a few meters away from the place are great restaurants and a nice quiet beach. It‘s also very close to many great waterfalls (we had a scooter). Great location and a awesome place! Totally recommended!

ArgentinaLocation is far away from the main centers and markets. But you have everything that you need near the area. My best recomendation is stay here and rent a motorbike for discover the island everyday. The beach is not the best for swiming because is rocky, but is good for enjoy the sunset and very chill beach, with some cute restaurants . Rooms are beautiful and you have everything that you need. Good wifi, air condition and comfy bed

GermanyImpossible to mention anything.
Wonderful place, very much aside from the main street, but still close enough to be at a 7 Eleven and some good restaurants (try Tam Thai, to th right, next to 7eleven) in 2-10 minutes. Small nice huts, fully equipped with even a kitchenette, but also fridge, AC, TV, more than you need. But the best is the lovely owner who has helped us sooo much (even drove us to the ferry pier!) and was so unbelievably kind and friendly. I've seldomly met so nice people. And the handmade coffee is also wonderful. Pure love. ;) Bonus level: they have pigs and chicken! Altogether: one of the best stays ever in many years of travelling!

AustraliaThere were no negatives at all.
A beautiful quiet room with outdoor kitchen in a lush garden setting at the base of the mountain. Very comfortable bed with quality linen & towels. Exceptionally clean with everything replenished each day. Although it was a 10 minute to walk or 2 minute scooter ride to beach and local shops, the quiet setting away from it all was worth it. Plenty of local places to eat also, if need be. Tang, the owner couldn’t have been more helpful, organising scooter hire & BBQ for us to use. We would definitely stay here again. Exceptional value all round!

ThailandMake sure to bring mosquito repellent such as coils as here are mozzies at sunrise and sunset. Taxis on Samui seem to be run by the local mafia so fares are outrageous by Thailand standards. Negotiation hard with taxis on the street. Max fare to the airport should be 300 baht and not 500 baht though 200 should really be the max.
When I saw this place on Booking.com I was immediately attracted to it though I also considered places right by the beach. Bang Po Huts is about 10 minutes walk to the beach and 1 minute by motorbike. You need a motorbike in anyways to explore Koh Samui so then the distance from the beach with 7/11 and many restaurants is not an issue. The garden setting and peace and quiet here is just incredible. I don’t hear people or cars or motorbikes. Just the sound of nature with many birds. The managers here are awesome! Such lovely and helpful people. I stayed just 3 nights but I wish it could be 30 nites! I can highly recommend these beautiful villas with a nice patio and even an almost fully equipped outside kitchen and large fridge inside. You won’t be disappointed!

RussiaYou'd better take a bike to ride to the beaches and explore the island. But that's not a problem in Thailand.
This is not the first time we have stayed at this place. My husband and I really enjoyed it, we decided to come back and stay for a week. We worked for several days and the internet was very good. The owners were very friendly. They helped us in solving all the issues. The coffee was delicious and the owner prepares it himself. We rented a bike here. There is a very pleasant atmosphere here. The animals on the farm are so cute, a dog came to us every morning, we saw a couple of little pigs. We would have stayed here longer.

AustraliaThe staff (and owner) were a delight to chat with and assist in issues like getting rid of strange slugs that decided to make my door its new hangout spot. The place has an air of a secret boutique hotel in the greenery, and immaculately clean. The owner has a wonderful philosophy in terms of running the hotel and taking care of her guests. While even locals might thing the Bang Po area has "nothing to do, it's just mountains", it really is a quiet gem in Koh Samui between the mountain and the beach, with the air of a truly local and home-y feel. I prefer it over the busier and touristy areas such as Bang Rak. There are chickens, 2 cute little pigs, and Dukdik (sp?) the dog (plus strange insects - it's close to the jungle) to keep you company. Dukdik also kind of guards the lane as you walk back from the beach in the darkness. If the other two neighbourhood dogs give you trouble, just yell for Dukdik and they'll know not to mess with you. Thank you for taking care of us well (the grilled fish was one of the best plump fish I've had in a long time) and I wish you a wonderful new year 2022.
