I tried sitting down in the hammock which wasn’t well tied and fell down two meters down. I hit my knee, shoulder and face quite badly. This could have killed someone. They just moved the hammock and didn’t even asked if I was feeling ok.

The place is in paradise! We got the A1 VIP Bungalow and it was amazing! The views walking up every morning were stunning and the food was incredible!

Everything was as it should be! The new owners have change the menu a little bit, so I missed a few things.

Well, it’s Bambu Huts! I’m coming to this place for 18 years now. The new owner I just more of the garden area which is really nice. The bungalows exactly the same as used to be, besides new curtains.

All bungalows in high season are usually taken for all the weekends and you should book few months in advance. Though there's no such problem in the low season and you can usually book it just few days in advance.

Close location to two weekend parties, helpful stuff. No cars or bikes because of the dirty off road (always wrecked up after each heavy rain) connecting it with the other part of the island – only special trucks and off-road bikes with experienced drivers can get there. Two more great beaches in the walking distance in the north direction, also known as "The Bay" or "The other side".

There is nothing we didn't like. However if you wish some peace and quite and relax Monday to Friday are your days to stay.

The location was really good. We got a hut with a sea view which was really amazing. We were often hanging on the porch in the morning or the evening on the hammock which was very relaxing. The staff were very freidnyl and helpful. The huts are located in the forest just at the sea front. There is also lovely bamboo restaurant where you can enjoy nice meal with a view on the sea. The place is an obsolute bliss and quite between Monday and Friday and for whomever wishes to party the weekend is the time to come over for some music and socialising. We also had some monkey quests on our porch messing around. Felt like being on the wrong side of the glass in the zoo. Loved it 😊

Bathroom sink was leaking straight to the floor. Asked to fix it but I guess they couldn't. But that was a minor thing for me.

I really liked the hut. Had all I needed. Balcony is really nice to relax, with a hammock and a seating area. Bed was comfy, pillows and duvet were clean and fresh. Same as the mosquito net. There's also an open closet for your belongings. Also the surrounding is really nice. The whole property.

The whole of haad yuan, haad thien and whynam are hydillic isolated beaches reacheabled by mafia run boats, attracting an in the known snobby crowd, boat prices in 2024 start at 400bath and get up at 1000bath during night time when party are on. The resort does not want to have to deal with guest stranded when they want to leave as the boat only leaves if there is enough people and so there is no time or making to a boat to mainland in the morning means hire one for up to 3000 bath or join speed boat to samui if available. Sure resorts in the area could have for their guest a transport service but the boatmen won't let that happen and could not care less for your travel arrangments. Information from the resort of when is the best time with more boats is met with a I don't know, yet simply observing that ferry arriving from Surat thani or koh tao means that is possible also that it will coincide with boat transfer too.

Old timer resort in the trendiest of all phangan spot, you get to stay in those old fashion wooden bungalow with a nice porch with sea view on the cliff, Sunday is the party day so expect music till 3 am. Join in as is a great party! Overall is probably the only resort that is fairly priced in the area the others are extortionate and overpriced. The food is great too.

    - the huts are dark and the curtains are old. Bathroom was dirty - getting to/from the property is a nightmare when the boats aren’t running. We spent more on 4x4 taxis than the price of the room. Had to cut our stay short as we had an early morning ferry and couldn’t trust the taxis.

    - A great experience staying in the jungle among the wildlife, the huts are basic but that’s to be expected. - food and drinks at the restaurant are great

The location. Too remote. Nearly impossible to reach. First to come you have to wait 8 people to do the same. It can last hours. Second : I was drop 2 bays further and had to walk in the jungle 20 mn in the heat and it's steep. Everywhere else in Thailand you have long tail boats immediately with cheap peices. Not in Koh Phangan. It's completely disorganized. Not the fault of the hotel but keep that in mind. Once you are there you never know if you ll be able to leave, and when...

It's very pretty and the bay is amazing. The view from the restaurant is fantastic. With the bridge to access over the rocks, you will feel like a pirate.

We had such an amazing time and would recommend coming here no matter what! However there are a few things to be aware of. The bambu huts are very very rustic. I.e gapping in the floorboards, no air con, old fan, bathrooms are a shower head over the toilet. We had a few large tokay geckos in our bathroom who were taking care of business i.e mosquitos so we loved them! In a double room you are cramped if there are two of you and the mosquito net could do with being replaced. It had been mended in places but had holes and was a bit worse for wear. You’ll never want to be in your room anyway! Don’t take too much luggage on the boat over, it can be stressful trying to get stuff on and off. Beware of bringing anything that could get water damaged! We learnt the hard way! Not anyones fault but our own! The boats are also a little rustic and take some skill getting in and out of. The actual beach the day after the party was covered in rubbish- bambu have a super cool instagram presence so maybe they could use their marketing to convince people to help clean the beach. We tried a little whilst we were there but there were not bins down there.

You will never stay some where so absolutely stunning in your life. There is a mad party vibe at the weekend but during the week its so beautiful, calm and tranquil. The common areas overlook the sea rolling as monkeys play in the trees. The view of the rainforest backing the beach was just so gorgeous. I spent all day on the terrace just staring at it! The restaurant serves excellent food and the interior is so well designed and lovely. The staff work endlessly. I really hope they are paid well. The service is truly great and nothing is too much trouble. The foh and boh deserve a lot of praise. I can’t even imagine the logistics of how that place runs as the location is so remote. I wish they would create a picture book of the story of the place and how it came to be. Could be a cool feature to have in the restaurant as its a fascinating property- I’m sure it has a pretty interesting history.

    - Unforeseen large New Year Day party led to unexpected crowds, some intoxicated individuals, and a different atmosphere than anticipated. - Disappointing encounter with guests who hadn't checked out, creating a delay in room availability. - Advisable to check event schedules to avoid any unexpected party scenarios when booking. - Lack of hot water facilities resulted in consistently cold showers, which was inconvenient and detracted from the overall comfort of the stay. Note: For updated event information, contact @bambuhuts on Instagram before making reservations.

    - Ideal location, secluded and accessible only by taxi boats. - Stunning view of Haad Yuan beach from the restaurant. - Great restaurant experience, enhancing our overall stay. - Enjoyed exploring walk trails to nearby beaches. - Welcoming and friendly staff contributed to a pleasant stay. - Tranquil atmosphere when not hosting DJ parties, particularly peaceful on non-event days. - Children loved the hammocks, providing a delightful spot to relax.

The bathroom could be more equipped. The mosquito net was torn. I have visited 10 years ago and the restaurant became too expensive for the portions that are given and compared with what it used to give. It had very generous portions and was more vivid vibes. The restaurant used to have simple sitting options on the floor where people could just hang out and lie down inside the restaurant. It had a special isolated table with a view to the beach and it is now gone.

It is simple and the price is fair. The white sheets are very nice. And the fact that there is a mosquito net is very thoughtful. Nice staff. Best view.

The steps up were made of concrete on the granite. Wish it had been all done in wood.

There’s a lot to like about Bambu. The amazing views from the restaurant, coupled with brilliant service and competence from the 4 young men who run it. Oh yes the very yummy well priced food We came to this beach 21 years ago and felt their wasn’t much atmosphere. The beaches still lack that, but bambu has got all the ingredients right and has created a great relaxing vibe with their great music, great view, great food and lovely staff. We only came for 2 nights with our 2 nine year old sons. We loved the jungles huts, for this budget they had quality sheets, pillows and towels. The bathrooms are very basic so if you haven’t back packed before be warned. Try to get a higher up hut and monkeys will likely visit in the morning.
