Staying with Nee & Oil is like staying with family. They make you feel so welcome. The domain is a peaceful Sanctuary of wildlife and Buddhist symbols that will make you want to stay there all day. The rooms have Comfy beds, Hot water and stone decorated bathroom floors. Nee is an excellent baker and chef, she will take care of you like a relative, freshly baked homemade cakes and bread for breakfast. Freshly bought market produce for dinner. This Home Stay is more than an accommodation, it’s a whole experience. Thank you Nee & Oil.

I can’t wait to return to Baan Suan Jantra. From the moment we arrive, we felt the peace and serenity of a place that the owners have put a lot of love and passion into. We loved meeting the ducks, fish and rabbits, and eating a delicious dinner and breakfast. Absolutely do not miss this spot if you’re in Chiang Rai, it is a one in a million spot.

Baan Juan Santra is a very magical place. The nature, the animals and the surrounding are enchanting and, moreover, Nee and his husband are super kind and available! Nee is a great chef: for breakfast she always prepare freshly baked sweets and Thai dinner is highly recommended as well. If you are a nature passionate, you will fall in love.

The host was incredible. The location was away from the city and perfect for what I was looking for. The environment is really special in the heart of the countryside. The room was fantastic. I chose to have Dinner every evening and the host is a great cook. She also baked endlessly everyday and there was always a fresh supply of baked goodies to feast on. Amazing to have a choice of natural colder shower or heated shower. I will definitely come back. Thank you so much!

I hate the idea that some people will expect this place to be the Hilton and write a review according to their first-world selfishness. This place is special, for people who 'get it'. If you want the Holiday Inn, stay there and leave this one-off experience alone. Nee and Oy don't need you; hell, the world doesn't need you.

The tropical jungle location, the wood and bamboo hut made our stay feel like it could have been anytime in the last 100 years. No pool, not tv and no aircon made for a very authentic experience. It isn't for everyone, but we loved it. The attention from Nee and Oy was wonderful, the food was just terrific and the experience was unforgettable. The sounds of the jungle at night and the rain on the roof were my idea of bliss. Think: 'one-level-up from camping with a private dining room and superb chef'

Location . Remote - needed to use transportation- even taxi drivers struggled to find location, especially night time . No fridge in chalet which was strange considering its a hot country.

Location . It was remote so quiet . The Hosts were very friendly and food cooked was lovely. The fresh cake baked daily was a bonus.

We weren't so thrilled about having to walk exposed from the bedroom to the bathroom, so we kept some extra clothing bedside to cover up if we needed to use the washroom at night. Not a deal breaker at all. A small price to pay to sleep in tranquility. At night we heard only the sounds of nature.

The owner was so doting and caring. Homemade EVERYTHING for breakfast... muffins, bread, jam, soup... all so very delicious. The grounds were stunning and so well taken care of. On the grounds there are gardens and flowers everywhere, a lake where you can relax, and a view of it all right from our room. The views at sunset were gorgeous. Also, the bunnies!

Absolutely amazing homestay!! The highlight of our trip so far. The hosts are the most beautiful people, nothing is too much trouble. The shower was complicated to operate.

It’s beautiful and it’s an experience. Set on the outskirts of Chiang Rai, it’s a lovely spot with exceptionally welcoming owners. We loved the sunset walk around tea plantations nearby. We loved dinner and her extraordinary Massuman curry. We loved sitting out in the evening. Oh and the bunnies! The pet bunnies that follow you like puppies! We loved freshly baked buns and breads for breakfast. They are amazing, warm people, so helpful and friendly — she even came to pick us up from the white temple.

great stay in a peaceful location. ask the owners their story and you will learn they had a vision for a place like this and they made it come through. that passion and attention to detail shows throughout the grounds. we had a villa type bungalow with our own porch and it was a nice relaxing spot. some Buddhist monks came by to pray at the grounds while we were there this is how special effort is taken to maintain the grounds. great breakfast with freshly baked bread/muffins fruits and eggs. this is a farm like setting with animals around and close by to the white temple or Singh park. strong wifi and hot outdoor covered shower. would stay here again

    Close to Singha Park

    • Standard Queen Room with Two Queen Beds
    • Stayed 1 night

The place has seen better days and is now somewhat run down. If spruced up and modernised the place could be sensational. The garden setting could be amazing and the little villas could be quirky and fun. It was expensive for what it was but that could have been a function of the market as there was an event at Singha Park putting accommodation in demand.

The bed was comfortable and clean. The location was close to Singha Park which is why I booked it. There were roadsigns leading to the hotel which could have been difficult to find otherwise. The staff were very helpful and even phoned to say we had left a phone charger behind and made arrangements to forward it to us.
