Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaI think they might have forgotten to replace our towels on one occasion, and we just needed showers after a day of frolicking and were too beat and sweaty to wait for fresh ones, but this is nothing that can't be arranged with a quick call to housekeeping.
You don't need to leave this hotel! The food is decent, though understandably catered for the more subdued tastebud, but the scenery... gosh, such a beautiful place! Service was excellent. Everyone was attentive and super helpful, especially with multiple requests for different types of chilli. 😁 The Raggae Bar has the most amazing sunsets, and the bbq they had on was yums.

NorwayThe pool bar staff were very undertrained and didn’t know what they were doing. Didn’t make drinks properly, didn’t tidy up, awkward with payments. Food was quite good, not fantastic.
The rooms are spacious and beautiful with wonderful bathrooms and balconies, very comfortable. Nice surroundings and well up-kept grounds.

United Kingdomthe service in the restaurant and for room service was a little slow. getting through a 3 course meal was rather lengthy and I always spent around an hour and a half for meal times - not always wanted. room service sometimes would arrive much later than the time I was told.
I first stayed at this hotel when it was Crown Lanta, and was asked several times by staff and people has it changed. My answer was no, in the best way. It still holds that charm I felt on my first visit, and is a haven for calm, relaxation and indulgence - the perfect lazy holiday! I stayed in the swim-up room and it was just how I remembered, it is so nice to access the pool whenever you feel like it - the night swim under the stars was lovely, as was sitting on the room's private pool area catching the sun. the bed was basically a cloud and I looked forward to sleep every night. the lighting was relaxing and had a handy "night" mode for those bathroom trips. Everything about this hotel is well thought out, immaculate and just beautifully designed. There are hotel buggies that transport guests from the lower site (reception and pool rooms) to the upper site (restaurant and beach) and are much appreciated as the walk up and down the hills is an exercise. I booked for Half Board this time and was not expecting a 3-course meal to be included, with the flexibility to have it as either lunch or dinner. the menu is big and the food is very nice! buffet breakfast was delicious with many options of local and western, hot and cold choices. The reggae bar makes use of the otherwise rocky beach, providing an uber-relaxing area to watch the sun go down in your own little seating areas. There was so much wildlife around the hotel as well - the fish in the pond, along with a family of water monitors. A family of birds would come around the clock to the pool edge to bathe as you swam by, and there were breeding pairs of rare toucans on site as well, a privilege to see so at ease amidst a hotel. the staff were always smiling, and could not do enough to help you. if you needed anything they would help swiftly. I have such relaxing holidays here I cannot wait to return again, I wont hesitate! it remains the best, and only place I choose to stay in on koh lanta.

NetherlandsFantastic place with great details of architecture. It is a bit more secluded from the other resorts, which is just perfect. The superior view room really does have stunning view. stuff was great and very polite. You do not feel the crowd of a resort that normally you would expect in other places.

United StatesPool suite was a perfect for our couple getaway. The hotel has 2 horn bills on the property and our room was right near the nest. It was a joy to see them fly by every day. Surrounding nature is gorgeous. Room overlooked the ocean, lots of trees around, nature sounds and stunning sunsets...all from our room's sun loungers. Staff was beyond helpful. Always cheery and the cleaning crew does a stellar job. Phone chargers were rolled up every day and everything stored neatly. We only had breakfast at the restaurant. It was well stocked and good by most standards.

United KingdomPrivate beach could be the perfect escape, however the hotel just ignores and leaves old umbrella stands and other rubbish in one corner.
Room, staff and service excellent. Easy access to town and other resturants along the beach within easy walking distance. Room good size and well equiped. Excellent sunset bar at hotel or alternatively 5 minutes walk.

United KingdomTwo days to fix and then have to replace the in room safe was unacceptable. The terrace light and fan never worked even after repeated requests. When everything is working there are no issues but the skill of their technicians and the speed that jobs are allocated needs substantial improvements.
The staff are all excellent, without fault. Very comfortable large seaview room with great shower. Transport provided around the resort which is essential, outstanding.

GermanyAlmost nothing. Only very minor detail as sometimes in the morning the coffee service took some time. The staff prepares everything fresh for all guests. Maybe an extra coffee machine or a coffeepot for self service would help the staff over order peaks.
Perfectly located resort on Koh Lanta with beautiful private beach and sunset bar. Very nice located restaurant in the resort with the possibility to take breakfast outside on the terrace with seaview. Great breakfast buffet. Beginning of Dec. the resort was not fully booked and there was everywhere sufficient space. Very relaxing place and super friendly staff.

AustriaBreakfast very simple and very disorganised - egg station takes forever, better to serve at the table otherwise your toast gets cold and you never eat together. When you arrive half an hour before the end of the breakfast everything is empty and the waiter make you aware that you only have half an hour left which is hot very relaxing… Bar at the pool, takes forever to be served. Staff is really lovely but the amount of staff there is the service could be so much better This is just me but no long mirror in the room. In general, you don’t feel special and for the money you pay you don’t get the value…

GuernseyThe main restaurant food was ok, it seemed to do western food better than Thai. It was always empty in the evening so most people eat out. Loads of amazing restaurants nearby. The breakfast is fine but could definitely be improved- if you want eggs, fruit, cereal it’s good. The staff in the restaurant (few young girls) were very different to the rest of the staff, quite rude & unwelcoming at times. Free minibar - this is listed as a “selling point” on booking.com but it’s a bit of a joke- it consists of 1 pack of Pringles and 2 chang beers and it is not refilled! I would rather have paid for a proper mini bar.. Kayaks on the beach would have been good.
First it’s worth saying- don’t expect a normal 5* resort, this is Koh Lanta so it’s 5* in comparison to the island options. It’s a beautiful resort in a great location. If you like wildlife & nature this is an excellent resort. We saw eagles, kingfishers, large lizards & hornbills up close at the resort. The staff are really nice and helpful- in particular Wisinee and Ning were incredible. The guys driving the buggy’s we’re great! The reception/tour desk will be on hand to book anything, there are taxis available all the time and you can hire scooters without leaving the resort. The rooms are really nice, the pool villas are amazing- comfortable, clean and everything you need. The little beach is a lovely view, good for fishing, looking for wildlife- but Rocky to swim (like most of koh Lanta) The spa was nice but quite expensive and not the best massages we’ve had in Thailand- a bit hit or miss for a 5*

United KingdomIt’s a little distance to the main town, so ideally you want motorbikes or will need to arrange taxis into the town for restaurants and bars.
The resort and rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean. It’s easy to arrange tuk tuks or bikes from the hotel to explore nearby beaches and restaurants, or you can just stroll down directly onto the beach from the hotel. The most memorable thing about this hotel though, is the wonderful staff. Every single one seemed really happy to welcome and look after the guests with a playful smile. Special mentions to: - Wisinee, the tour agent in reception who helped us organise a private boat trip (which was amazing) and bikes for our stay. She was so warm and kind and gave us some very good advice to save money and stay safe. - Bao (Krit) on the bar, who was super energetic and engaging and couldn’t stop smiling. His face lit up whenever he saw you around the resort, really great guy. Thanks for a great stay Avani!
