Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing.
We absolutely loved our stay at Aow Leuk Grand Hill. The location is just stunning. Waking up everyday to the view from our bed was breathtaking. The bungalows are perfectly perched on the edge of the cove to make the most of the serenity and view. The bungalows are clean and functional and the fans were enough to keep the heat at bay during the night. We enjoyed breakfast at the bar, lounging on floor cushions and hammocks and we enjoyed dinner at the adjacent restaurant across the beach which was also dreamy and rustic. The snorkelling was amazing, pristine waters where we saw sharks, turtles and so many beautiful fish without leaving the cove. Taxis are expensive to the port and other areas of the island so advice would be to stay put! We would love to return one day.

Spain-It is written on the room description, it’s a room with a fan, so the sleeping comfort is improvable. If it had aircon, this would be a top premium accomodation.

South AfricaA down side was litter in between the walk ways. The men working at the restaurant were lovely but the manager was sometimes unfriendly. My husband cut his hand on the rocks (his fault) and there was no first aid kit available- I thought for the price those sort of customer service things could be better.
Super beautiful location! Probably one of the best of the island. The room was lovely and kept clean every day. It was so special to have this beautiful beach in the mornings and evenings before day tours came. We saw some excellent snorkeling and the deep bay was great for swimming. The road to the beach is very steep.

AustriaI would recommend a water refiller for the guests instead of two small bottles per day - there is already too much plastic in Thailand. The prices in the restaurant are very high for Koh Tao (but I know the location also makes the prices).
the location and sea-view is wonderful, the bay is nice to snorcel and it's on the calm and quiet side of Koh Tao, the bungalow is big and for guests are beds at the beach included - a wonderful place!

Czech RepublicAlthough restaurant food was very good and price (for remote location) acceptable, it opens for breakfast at 8:30 AM (long wait for coffee after watching sunrise) and closes at 5 PM (too early) every day. Restaurant across the beach, serves food until 7 PM, good prices, good food and cocktails - so there is an option for later dinners.
Fantastic bungalow with amazing view of Aow Leuk Bay. We loved the privacy and quiet of the location, Chill atmosphere, remote, amazing snorkeling and (when the wind is right) great body surfing in the waves. Bonus - beautiful sunrise every morning! Staff friendly and came to clean the room every day. Lounge chairs and umbrellas overlooking the bay are free all day for guests of the resort. Highly recommend renting a scooter from one of the shops in town (1 KM walk to first rental place) and explore the island!

United StatesThis is a special place. This hotel is on the best snorkeling beach in Thailand in my opinion. The cove where the hotel is located is the place where all the dive and snorkeling boats go, but if you stay at the Aow Leuk Grand Hill Hotel, you are right there, no boat necessary. Just walk into the water and you're surrounded by big colorful fish. Swim a few feet to your left and you're in a world of beautiful coral. The food at the hotel is excellent and reasonably priced (but be aware that the restaurant closes at 5PM; if you want to eat later you can order take-out to your room). The pancakes were great for breakfast. The units are basic, but the view of the bay as absolutely fantastic, and you can look at the view from your hammock. The water for the shower is hot. There's no A/C but the room cools off at night, and if you want it a bit cooler, you can open the sliding door. I had no problem with insects, but there is mosquito netting around the bed. The staff is helpful and friendly. As far as I'm concerned, if you love to snorkel, this IS the place to stay. Be aware that you will need to walk down some steep steps, so people who have difficulty climbing stairs might have a problem.

United KingdomIf the room had an Aircon it would be a 10. Even sleeping with the balcony doors open and putting the fans on it we found it hard to deal with the heat.
It's an amazing place, it's hard to beat sitting out on your private deck overlooking the bay, we loved the few days we had there.

United KingdomThe restaurant isn't open in the evenings and better food can be found elsewhere on the island - but not a problem at all if you have a moped and they are very relaxed about you bringing in your own food to store in your fridge. Depending on the weather, there can be patches of trash in the sea and on the beach but that's outside the hotel's control and a pervasive problem in Thailand generally, staff do their best to clean the entire beach every morning and the resort's own area with loungers was always kept very clean and tidy. The owner's dogs can be quite territorial at night, and will bark at you if you try to go down to the beach past sunset.
We stayed here for two weeks and really thought it was the best place on the island and fantastic value for money. The snorkelling in the bay is beautiful, the location is secluded and peaceful and the views are stunning. The room was very spacious with a full size fridge, good storage and a beautiful balcony. With a moped it's really conveniently located and easy to get around. Whilst the road down to the hotel is quite steep, it's almost all sealed concrete with a few gravelly patches which are straightforward to drive on if you're taking it slowly. We were so happy we chose to stay here and would 100% do so again if visiting Koh Tao!

ArgentinaAs lots of places in Koh Tao, after 10am or a bit earlier it gets full of boats that come for a day tour. It can be a bit noisy. But this is why it is good to stay here, because before that time the amazing place is mostly yours and some people who come with a motorbike. And there is a bit of luminescence so swimming at night is gorgeous too. In low season the restaurant closes at 5pm. This is a tricky one, but maybe get some tupperwars, order sandwiches or sth like that before 5pm, put it in your fridge (you have a fridge) and eat it after you are done enjoying the beach. Room came with a kettle so I had my own dinner with freeze dried food (you could also just do cheap instant noodles or maybe instant oats).
Each bungalow has a magnificent view and they are put in such a way that it feels really private. You may see people around in certain angles, but it is still jaw dropping, specially considering the affordable price. The bed was super big with a mosquito net and sheets!!!! Usually hotels give you a blanket, so if you don't use air con you struggle with it. Sheets are much more comfortable and I loved sleeping there. The room was spacious, the balcony amazing, and the toilet was also great. I can't remember if I had hot water or not. The beach is one of the most beautiful beaches I've visited (I visited most of the ones from the main peer to this guesthouse) because you have a lot of sand (there are no bungalows in the actual beach, which gives it a wider space of pure sand). There are lots of fish, the coral is really good and lots of scube divers (beginners I guess) come here because it is really pretty nice. I went swimming from here to Shark island (only for experienced open water swimmers). You can easily rent a kayak there and go to Shark island kayaking. It must be gorgeous before 10 am which is I think when all the boats come.

GermanyThe restaurant was closed from 5 p.m. It is difficult to get to this resort, the streets are in bad shape., what makes it dangerous to go there by scooter. You need to walk many steep steps, so nothing for weak or handicaped persons. You need expensive taxis to get anywhere. Sea was rough
