Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe staff weren’t the most hospitable and questioned us on taking a new beach towel on a different day. There were many staff present but often we would have to get menus ourselves and head to the bar to get their attention instead of them coming to us. Overall, did not feel particularly welcomed. It would have been nice if there were activities organised by the resort such as yoga or something.
Great location for a relaxing stay. Extremely clean rooms and very chilled out.

United StatesBreakfast, Internet can be choppy, depends on the room. Be aware that laundry is charged by the item and not weight, (I paid 300 THB on what cost me 20 THB across the road). You can find better scooters and rates for scooter rental in Raja Ferry pier
This was my 3rd time in this resort and I love it. The private beach can vary from 'Absolutely Stunning' to 'Okay', it is very much depends on the tide, but that's true everywhere in the Island. The sunsets are absolutely striking on this side of the Island. The pool is not big, but wonderful and very pretty. My stay vary by the room they put me in. I stayed in B8 (Deluxe Studio 2nd Floor), B1 (Deluxe Studio, 1st Floor), A22 (Villa Garden View) and A15 (Studio Garden View). B8 was by far my favorite option. The 'deluxe studios' are situated in an 8 room 2 stories 'building' (4 rooms in each floor) and the rooms are specious and more modern. I preferred the 2nd floor and the corner rooms (B8). A22 (Villa Garden View) was 'okay' 6/10, roomy, but less privacy. A15 is a definite ’no’ for me 5/10 (luckily I only had to stay there one night). A19 is great, just by the beachfront. Over all, I'd recommend this place for solo travelers, couples and families, I much prefer this part on the Island (Taling Ngam and Lipa Not) and I'd love to visit Am Samui again.

There’s a beautiful pool close to the beach, and lots of seating on the beach. Our room was modern and spacious- quiet too.

United KingdomOnly one bedside table and no bedside lights. We like to read in bed and it was really inconvenient to have to get out of bed to turn lights out. Also, snorkelling very poor. Sea cloudy and hardly any fish.
Lovely setting, on the beach. Clean, comfortable and nice staff. Lovely swimming pool and restaurant.

AustriaFirstly, there were the ants. We'd read about them beforehand and, true to word, we saw a few. It wasn't an infestation, but they were there. Remember, this is Thailand, and a bit of wildlife is part of the charm. A bit of ant spray sorted it out quickly, so it was hardly a deal-breaker. Another thing we noticed was a slight odor coming from the drains. It wasn't constant, but it was noticeable at times. Again, this is something that can happen anywhere, and it didn't detract much from our overall experience. As for the internet connection, it wasn't the strongest. But honestly, when you're in such a beautiful place, who needs to be glued to their screens? It was a good reminder for us to disconnect and truly immerse ourselves in the beauty and tranquility of our surroundings.
Finding Am Samui Resort in Taling Ngam felt like uncovering a secret paradise. It was the perfect backdrop for our much-needed escape from the hectic pace of daily life, offering us a chance to unwind in a setting that was nothing short of breathtaking. We stayed in this adorable bungalow that boasted an incredible sea view. Though the water was too shallow for swimming, it only added to the beach's serene charm. The calmness and quietude of the beach were exactly what we needed – a peaceful retreat that felt like our own secluded sanctuary. The standout experience, though, was the warmth and helpfulness of the receptionist. Her genuine care and willingness to assist in every way made our stay even more special. It's rare to find someone so dedicated to making guests feel welcomed and valued. Waking up each morning to the soothing sound of the waves and the stunning vista was a real treat. The bungalow was cozy, inviting, and equipped with all the necessities, harmoniously blending comfort with the natural beauty of the surroundings. In summary, our stay at Am Samui Resort was simply phenomenal. For those seeking a relaxing, scenic getaway, this place is a must-visit. We left feeling rejuvenated and are already looking forward to our next visit to this little slice of heaven.

GermanyOn the day of our arrival there was a TV recording and no one told us beforehand, it was a pity, because we only had two nights there and that already bothered us to enjoy the ambiance there. One evening, the water didn't work for several hours, we reported it and it was repaired. However, the communication in this context was not good, no one told us how long it will approximately take to repair or when they finished that it worked again.
The location was really beautiful.

United StatesQuite remote, but that was part of the reason we booked this. The bed was pretty hard and you could feel the boards underneath. However, that was a small price to pay for an incredible beach view!
We loved the location. It was quiet at night, but you do need a scooter to get around the island. The sound of the waves at night was like a lullaby!

United KingdomThe beach and sand were not clear as expected. There also were some rowdy other guests who decided to take the speaker and turn off the hotels' music and play their own Indian music. The hotel is quite far from anything else, no shops or food stalls nearby.
The sunsets here are stunning. The property is based on and around the beach, making it perfect for families. The pools are nice rooms were very spacious, and all close to the amenities

PhilippinesLocation is good if you want to be by the beach and not move. Everything else is atleast a 10 mins drive by scooter. Our minimum drive was 20 mins to reach restaurants. The normal rooms need some updating for the price. We took another night in this room it really wasnt worth it and comfortable.
Lovely views and beach! Great staff! Id recoment either booking the sea view room or the new updated apartments. We slept 1 night in the sea view it was very nice experience.

Malaysiaperhaps some facelift in the future for some of the rooms and getting to the Resort by self driving will be a challenge for those not familiar with driving in tight roads.
Quiet location and our room is facing the ocean so got to see the Sunset. Did not try their breakfast but did manage to get dinner on our first night and it was excellent. They have great staff and it is a very safe location to have a staycation.

NetherlandsIt needs some maintenance here and there. Not too bad, but some TLC would to wonders! It is really secluded - that is a pro, but also a con 😊.
The resort is located in a quiet part of Samui - approx. 50 mins from the airport, 20 mins from Lampraya pier. It is directly at the beach. The swimming pool is big enough for a few real strokes, deep enough for the kids to jump in. The cottages are basic, but comfortable. Every day cleaning helps to keep the sand out of your bed. People working at the resort are all super friendly and willing to assist you with anything.

NetherlandsI stayed for a whole week and it would’ve been nice if they changed the bed linnen at least once.
If you want peace and quiet, this is the place to be! Perfectly secluded from the crowded tourist places on a beach where you can watch the sunset. You can rent a scooter at the resort and discover the island that way. Pool was lovely and the restaurant was fine. Leo was a great host!
