Amazing location, away from the crowds and jungle of bars. Sam was great and helped us all everywhere from ckeck-in, traslating and he also dropped us to the pier when had to leave.

Sam the owner was the best! He made Aforetime hostel to a home where everyone is welcome. It was such an adorable experience to stay there and I extended for a week after I arrived. The best place to calm down and escape from reality for a while. Beautiful sunsets from the beach that is literally directly in front of the hostel. 🧡

The area is quiet so you will need to organise taxis or rent bikes (which you can do at through the hostel) to explore more of the island. We enjoyed the quietness of the area though!

Excellent hostel right next to the sea. Lovely sunset every night. In a very quiet area away from very busy tourist areas but a couple of restaurants nearby. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to help you and to ensure you had a pleasant stay. Able tor rent paddle boards from hostel and organise taxis and trips. Attached restaurant also provided tasty food at an affordable price.

I think it's good to know that the pool in the photos is not actually at the hostel, but at a nearby resort. I wish I had known this before my stay.

This was a beautiful hostel with a very kind and welcoming host. The beds were comfortable and the place was clean. Sam goes above and beyond for his guests. The rooftop bar is the best possible place to see the sunset. Magnificent views.

The owner is super nice and helpful! He created a beautiful space in a quiet area, next to nice beach with a rooftop bar to watch the perfect sunset. The rooms were small but big enough, with nice cozy cabins for the beds. Curtains, light, charging spot and a shelf are in those cabins. All in all the perfect hostel to stay at if you want a more peaceful experience

Had such a nice time at Aforetime. All the staff are so nice and the atmosphere is very chill. It’s a social hostel if you want it to be and also a great place to be your self.

Not very sound proof. It didn't bother me but I wouldn’t suggest if you’re a light sleeper. It’s the other side of Koh Samui from the party island so not the place to go if that’s what you’re looking for.

Omg amazing location right next to the most perfect beach! A couple of restaurants right on the beach just a short walk away. Hostel is basic but sweet and homely. It’s clean with curtains and lockers. Friendly staff volunteering and welcoming atmosphere. Free water.

Mr Sam the owner is amazing he will go above and beyond to help you. The volunteers here are amazing at creating a nice chilled community at the hostel. There is a rooftbar bar which is great for sunset and it’s round the corner from the hostel so you can sleep well if you go to bed early. A quiet beach at the doorstep. The location seems out of the way at first but the area is great if you want more of a chilled time. A scooter is essential if you want to explore the island

This hostel is more of a home than a casual place to stay. The family behind the business are very wonderful people, and go above and beyond to make your stay is as comfortable as possible. This is the best hostel I've been able to stay at.

The location of the hostel is amazing - less than 50m from a gorgeous quiet beach. There is a small, family run restaurant across the road which has lovely food. They also sell some snacks, drinks and essentials (e.g. toothbrushes, toothpaste). Sam, the owner, is absolutely lovely - extremely polite, kind and helpful. He even asked us for suggestions to help improve the hostel - we didn't have any!!! We didn't expect our stay to be as nice as it was especially as the price is so low!

My friend and I really loved this place. The owner Sam really made us feel at home and did everything in his way to make our stay memorable. Aforetime has an amazing community and it‘s located right on a very beautiful beach which is a really nice spot to watch the sunset. Would 100% recommend staying here.

The best hostel we have ever stayed at. We originally had 3 nights booked but decided to extend for another 3 because of how good it was. The owner is the sweetest most welcoming man and made us feel right at home throughout our stay. The shared dorms are amazing. You have a plug and a lamp right by your bed, comfortable mattress, a locker and a curtain for privacy. Everything is super clean thanks to the amazing staff. Located right at the beach with the most stunning sunsets. The location is a little remote which we personally didn’t mind as it was very peaceful. You can however rent a scooter right at the hostel for a fair price. The community here is great and organized many different activities such as day trips, bbqs, etc. Definitely a place we will come back to!!!

I had such an amazing time at aforetime house, Sam the owner is so lovely and welcoming Such great value for money and so close to the beach, it’s literally on the doorstep I felt so at home the whole of my stay and they were so accommodating when my organisation skills were lacking to help me stay more nights! There were great events at the hostel, free beach BBQs and cocktail nights, they also arranged boat trips around the islands that were so much cheaper than others on offer

The owner, Sam, was the most welcoming and continued to exceed expectations my entire stay! The hostel was lovely and clean. There was a great sense of community which was helped with the communal area and almost daily organised events like a sunset cocktail bar, bbq or hostel outings to pig island!

The location is in the quieter part of the island, therefore you’ll most likely need a scooter to get around. No fault of the property
