Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNot much really as there its much that can be done differently given the location. We found it to be a very genuine experience for the type of location. Only comment would be the stairs to the very top of the accommodation they are a bit tough carrying luggage, but there are other rooms on lower levels for which it would be as difficult
The room was basic but it served its purposes for us. We really liked the settling and the connection to the real people of the town. The accommodation and restaurant are in the town square which is really unique given the location. We really enjoyed meeting and observing the way of life there. Of course then there is the very easy access to the cable car up to San Marino which is the reason and highlight for the stay.

NetherlandsSome other reviews state that the room keys can open other rooms too. I did not try this, but the key had no cuts, like keys usually have to make them unique, so I assume this is still the case, which would be very bad. In addition I had pasta in the restaurant one night and it was okay. However, it was relatively expensive for the area (12 euro) and super simple,.I did not feel like it was a good value.
Good location, bus stop nearby and close to the cable car to easily go to the historic center (4 euro for a roundtrip) Breakfast being provided was also nice. For a hotel on the cheaper end the breakfast was decent. The room was decent and the bathroom was somewhat recently renovated and looked good.

SloveniaWe had a bit of a problem connecting to Wifi and the parking space.
Big room, good breakfast, the owner was friendly, but his maid was not the best. The location was excellent, there was a path next to it that led to the hill 😊

AustraliaA little noisy due to old air conditioner which struggled to get the job done. Bathroom was starting to get mouldy around the silicone in the shower. Water ran hot and cold intermittently and the TV signal was below average.
Good location, friendly people, nice atmosphere and good service.

United KingdomThe beds were two single beds pressed together so there was a hole in the middle from the bed frame which was uncomfortable.
Nice room, very clean, breakfast was good. It is right next to the cable cars and the trail up to the main San Marino area, so it was good price for its location.

SlovakiaThere was nothing particular to complain about, but some people could find facilities a bit old school.
Hostaria da Lino has a great location, right next to the cable car to San Marino City. It has a traditional feel about it and a very good restaurant you need to definitely try, we really loved their passatelli. The room is charming, spacious, with a big comfortable bed and the price met our expectations.

United KingdomThe air conditioning in the room didn’t seem to work. It was a very dated system with no remote, only a thermostat dial and no air seemed to blow out the unit. However the room was thankfully not too hot, just not as comfortable as we would have liked.
Such a good location, round the corner from the cable car to San Marino which is only 4€ return with the Tutto San Marino card which guests are given on arrival at the hotel. Also very close to the Borgo Maggiore bus stop for the Rimini-San Marino bus.

United KingdomThere was a church bell right next to our room, which went off every 15 minutes right up until midnight and then stops until 6am and continues. It is very loud and the windows aren't very thick, plus there's no AC so if it's hot you'd need the window open. Also we'd asked for a double bed and was given 2 twin beds pushed together so the gap in the bed was a little annoying. The breakfast is quite limited, there's nothing if you are vegan, only breadsticks. Would stay again but bring earplugs and hope in the future they have a bit more options for those people who don't eat meat, cheese or egg pastries for breakfast.
Excellent location, 2 minute walk to the cable car station to travel up to the old town of San Marino. 5 minute walk from the bus stop for the bus from Rimini make sure you say to stop at Cafe Forcellini. Hotel is in a beautiful old square. Staff were very friendly and let us check in to a vacant room so we could store our stuff.
