Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe male staff member in the reception was very rude and unwelcoming. Later tho a different staff member allowed us to cook after checkout time that was very very generous of her.
Very big a quipped kitchen, a lot of storage space, could cook simultaneously with a few people. Beds were comfortable, big and had electricity. Gardens were AMAZING really. A few levels of different types of terraces, the highest one observing the entire village.

AustraliaIt was quite warm in the rooms at night and the owners seemed reluctant to use the AC. This wouldn't be an issue most of the year though
Wonderful location in the old town, quiet at night and all facilities were spotless

AustraliaI had a car so the location was great for me, but wouldn’t know how’d you go with public transport. Also the showers didn’t offer a lot of privacy…
Really enjoyed my stay here! Was super clean, kitchen had heaps of equipment (and even some free food) there were heaps of hang out spots with amazing views and the owners were lovely. HIGHLY recommend booking the tandem paragliding, was cheaper than other places around and honestly one of the most amazing experiences.

GermanyNothing — the hostel was amazing!
One of the most comfortable hostels I have ever stayed in. Everything is so well thought out and cleverly designed, and it was truly a pleasure to stay here while exploring Kobarid and the surrounding areas of the Soča Valley. Anna and the Kobarid Hostel Team keep the place in top shape, and are incredibly friendly, helpful and kind. Also, in the height of summer heatwaves, the air conditioning was very much appreciated after long days outdoors. Thank you, Anna and Team, for making my visit a memorable, comfortable and pleasant one!

GermanyNot really a social vibe and quite strict rules for cleaning your stuff.
Very clean, a great garden terrasse and enough space for cooking and preparing. I was there in summer so the AC is a big plus. I spilled whole bottle of water accidentally over my bed, but the staff didn’t hesitate and arranged for a new bedding. Really great!

CroatiaIt is the best hostel I have ever stayed in. The double beds are big and very comfortable. They have a hanger, hooks and a socket which is very practical. The common toilets and bathrooms are spotlessly clean. The kitchen is excellently equipped with a hospitable touch of free coffee and tea. The backyard with little terraces on different levels and the view of the mountains is amazing. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. There's no better place you can find in the area.

United KingdomI always like a hostel that serves breakfast, but this doesn't seem to be the norm in Europe, or maybe just Slovenia.
Friendly owners, comfy beds, super clean, lots of outdoor areas to relax in, great location in the town and near the Soca river. The owners have travelled themselves so they know all the little extras that make a hostel great and easy, hooks/shelves in the shower, light and sockets in each bed, big underbed storage for bags, sociable spaces etc. Go paragliding with the owner too!!

SlovakiaThe airconditioning in the room could be a bit lighter during the night, but that's a thing of personal preference. Nothing extreme.
Absolutely great place. Probably the best hostel I've been in so far. Everything works perfectly, everything is clean, owners very welcoming and helpful. Never had to wait for a toilet or a shower, spacious and well equipped kitchen, big lockers under the bed, wifi works flawlessly. Location is lovely, if you want to eat out or enjoy a bit of night life, it's all pretty much a few steps away. You won't regret coming here.

GermanyLovely experience, even and especially for somebody who is not that used to staying at hostels. Very courteous, interesting and helpful hosts, spotless rooms, kitchen and facilities, and a really gorgeous "terraced" (for lack of a better word) garden/outside seating area with views of Kobarid on the higher levels. Great for a sundowner. Would absolutely recommend and will stay at again when in the area.

United StatesVery small things - the ‘bath’ towels they provided were very small, they barely covered my whole body at all. It would be nice to have a shelf in the bunk bed as well.
Everything was very clean, and the hosts were very friendly. The kitchen had everything and there was a beautiful garden space. Overall really enjoyed our stay here!

United Kingdom4pm check in is far too late, I wanted to just relax upstairs but nobody was around to let me in.
Very clean, great outdoor space especially for sunset (be very early) kitchen and bathroom set ups were spot on, people were nice, it's a quiet hostel with a 10-8 quiet rule, well located (small town)

United KingdomNot a major thing, but the bathrooms initially took me by surprise. They are gendered (at least) but have three glass shower cubicles with the only privacy coming from fogged glass in between and opaque stripes on the front door.
The hostel is more like shared hotel rooms, because of the quality! Every element is well thought out, and clean. Each bunk has a curtain, a lamp, a plug socket, hooks, and a large locker underneath that’s lockable with a supplied access card. The outside terrace is a great place to hang, with many sections for people to spread out. The kitchen is fully equipped, with coffee included, and isn’t grubby and a place you want to avoid using, unlike many hostels. The location is right in the middle of town so supermarkets and eateries are just minutes away. You can also walk to Napoleon’s Bridge in under 10 minutes (which is a better option that driving as it gets quite congested around the area). The owners are really friendly, and there’s a cat! Plus we really appreciated the message ahead of check in which told us many options for car parking.
