I stayed at Guesthouse Mesec Zaplana for one night on my 10 day trip around the exceptionally beaufitul country of Slovenia. The Guesthouse is located a short distance from the town of Vrhnika and is located in a quiet village. My double room was basic but very clean and comfortable. The food, both evening meal and self-serve buffet breakfast, were excellent and good value for money. Guesthouse Mesec Zaplana is highly recommended for an overnight stay in this part of Slovenia.

Owners went to great length to provide us dinner, even though we arrived at the property just 2 minutes before they close the kitchen! Food was good, room was sufficient for a family, there was even an extra bed. In the morning we walked around, the surrounding is beautiful! To wake up, just walk up the path from the guesthouse. You will see so many flowers in the woods.

Breakfast was not too good - rather low-quality products like soviet-grade sausages and imitate instead of real juice, scrambled eggs cooked with so much fat we could hardly eat them.

Very clean and well organized, good location in nature, very good dinner - we had a lovely hot soup that was all we needed after a day of visiting and driving, and a generous plateau of mixed grill and vegetables. Staff prompt to serve even If they had a long busy weekend.

i asked a few times (via booking.com) about time of breakfast (breakfast included and paid for) - which was important because we had tickets to POSTOJNA at 9am (so we needed to depart at 7:45 latest). the emails never answered at when arrived we were told that breakfast only at 8am - which was too late for us. not nice surprise. good that we were given instead the 'breakfast boxes with juice, sandwiches, youghurts).

Nice location, very close to Lubljana. Area sourranding this guesthouse is very quiet and offers some nice paths. Room vas clean and spacious enough. The restaurant offers some typical cuisine so you don't have to move to the city.

There were no shops and restaurants nearby, but it was not a big problem, because we could reach them by car in a short time.

The staff was kind and helpful. The house was quiet and it was located in a beautiful area. The rooms were clean and we had a lots of place. It was good to have a common place on the ground floor where you can spend time together with your friends/family. The breakfast selection could have been more varied, otherwise it tasted good. We had hot and cold options to choose. The coffee was nice.

Nice family friendly place, perfect for an overnight stay. There was a fully equipped playground and even some toys in the lobby for children. Very reasonable prices as well.

The wifi was not stable when we were there (they admitted in advance), and there were quite a lot of mosquitoes. I suggest installing nets to the windows.

Late breakfast (from 8 AM). In this hiking area it is weird. Lowered willingness to accept payment in card despite the fact that this is mentioned as a primary method of payment in the reservation.

The guesthouse is located in a picturesque village. An excellent starting point for the main attractions. We were on a trip with motorbike, and we could park the machine comfortably in a covered area in a barn and our minivan behind it. Sufficient choice for breakfast, very good coffee. The hosts are very kind and friendly people. We would love to come back!
