Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaPrice policy. We ordered the room a long time in advance, and on the day of arrival we rechecked the price on booking.com and found our room much cheaper than what we ordered, and many rooms were available. But the staff was not allowed to cancel existing booking and book for the current cheaper price or change an existing booking. People on the reception said what they cannot change that, but "upper" staff also did not respond a long time. For sure, I was able to block my virtual card used for this booking to not pay fees and book again from my wife's account.
Small but clean and quiet room for a reasonable (for Singapore) price, with friendly staff. Nice that we had the option to pay 45$ for later check-out at 6 p.m. Indian restaurant near the hotel was cheap (for Singapore) and with good meals. Not so far from metro, direct line to airport

United KingdomAs our Grab driver pulled up he said it was in the red light area. We were there through the day but left in the evening and the street was already filling up with unsavoury characters.
Cheaper than 4x bag storage and well located between the airport and Bay Area. Used it for bag storage and to freshen up between flights so we could explore the city for a few hours.

Great price as for Singapore. Location in the heart of Geylang which is a plus and can be a minus for someone (it's very vibrant, authentic and safe but have in mind that the hotel is located on red light street).

The hotel is ordinary but good price for Singapore. Geyland is good for a large variety of food vendors and close to the MRT ok for a short stay

PolandWindow was impossible to open. Sometimes it's nice to use a little bit of a fresh (even hot) air.
Great price as for Singapore. Location in the heart of Geylang (bear in mind that this is red light district but imo it's an asset). I personally like Geylang district cause it's not from the city centre by metro and provides you more local (and still very safe) experience.

CanadaThe whole room is small as expected but the shower stall with a diagonal shower curtain in the 2 rooms with double beds were so tiny that a person could hardly move to take a proper shower. Regardless of the room cost difference, it would have been nice to have a small fridge in all the rooms especially for such a hot country like Singapore.
My group had 3 rooms which we were able to access earlier than the specified check in time. Thank you. But perhaps cleanliness should be a higher priority because although 2 of the rooms were clean, the 3rd room had hairballs in the shower and felt like the room was not cleaned. The close proximity to Aljunied MRT station and yummy food around the area was great.

Only a 10 minute walk to the nearest MTR. Staff were very helpful. Some people might like the idea that the hotels location is in the red light district, certainly it's cheap entertainment when you're walking the street. Air conditioner in room worked really well

New ZealandThe hotel was in the red-light district so it didn't feel the safest when walking back at night. The room bathroom was very small.
The room was clean and tidy when we arrived. It was well connected with a less than 10-minute walk from two MRT stations. The bed was comfy. It was a great base for us to explore Singapore from at a reasonable price
